The situation was good. The Bar and Dining Room were very well appointed. A little more attention is needed to the bedrooms.
The double bed was right up to the wall on one side and the TV overhung the bottom of the bed on this side making it impossible to get out of bed without climbing over my wife. The room should only have been let as a single. The only shelf in the bathroom was broken and it was impossible to open the bedroom curtains as they were broken and had been temporarily fastened up with screws. The reception and check out was very disorganised. We did receive a reduction of £14 but they do need to get their act together. I understand that the hotel has recently changed hands and hope that the new owners quickly get the rooms sorted out as this hotel is ideally situated for us when visiting relatives in Storrington
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was well equipped with with all the trimmings to make the guests feel welcome and comfortable. The breakfast was very generous in both menu range and quantity. We were allowed to check in earlier than the normal advertised time to facilitate us to meet our timetable of getting to a wedding and no pressure to check out on time the next day.
Nothing negative to report.
The Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was quite good with a good breakfast.
We booked 3 rooms 2-3 months before the date via booking.com and when we arrived to checkin we were charged £10 more per room per night than rate originally booked. Other than that rooms on the road side are very noisy due to no double glazing and thin walls and some rooms are not toddler safe due to windows at ground level.
The owner's aggressive rudeness and the incompetence of the young man at reception. Have never been made to feel so unwelcome at any hotel in any part of the world! The "continental" breakfast was no such thing and was not only unappetizing but even partly uneatable. One of our beds had broken springs that had been covered up with a quilt under the mattress in the hope they wouldn't be noticed ! In short, hardly a hotel I would go back to or recommend, especially to foreign guests, who are accustomed to much higher standards than these in their own country !
A very friendly place to stay n the staff there r helpful as well. Overall, it's definitely worth to stay.
Comfort of bed
TV didn't work Bathroom poky Bad initial staff response Totally hopeless breakfast procedure- coffee undrinkable had to ask twice for everything else.
The room was lovely & very comfy.
They didn't have a record of my booking through booking.com
Room was comfortable and clean.
There was a lot of outside noise. There was no food option available when I stayed there. The only staff available to answer any questions were the bar staff and they were not very cheerful/friendly.
1. Expensive Bar and Restaurant 2. Toilet not clean when we arrived 3. 1 bedside lamp didnot work on arrival 4. TV setting - Heath Robinson 5. Toiletries and Biscuits for one (one of each) despite double occupancy of the room 6. No hairdryer
We attended the Big Church Day Out and found the location very suitable. John, the owner was very accommodating and made us feel very welcome. We have booked again for next year.
The food was excellent . Evening meal and breakfast were delicious. The decor
Small portions . I asked to move from the front of the hotel to the quieter back . But The bedroom I was given was quite poor compared to the first room . It was like staff quarters. I should have put up with the road noise .
Location was great
No breakfast included with room rate
Welcoming staff, who accommodated our request for an early breakfast on Sunday. Good value for money. Twin rooms available. We were riding the South Downs Way and there are dry and secure lock up facilities for bikes.
Nothing to comment upon.
Staff very friendly, helpful and attentive.
Room was a bit hot and facing main road (noisy).
Bread served for breakfast was good.
Bathroom was not very cleaned.
Location suited our needs
No hairdryer in the room, bathroom compact, with very little space to put toiletries. Extractor fan not working. Breakfast additional cost, and took an eternity to arrive.
No breakfast, extra price
Good parking and very confortable room. Very helpful and friendly staff. Ideally placed for one of my work assignments(Right opposite!)
Busy main road out front might be noisy if you are at the front of the building. A bit pricey compared to other B&B's and hotels i have stayed at
very good overall.
Lovely staff, nothing was too much trouble.
Nothing negative to say
Lovely gentleman working the desk, very professional and welcoming.
Poor standard breakfast
Convenient for Goodwood which was the main reason for chossing the hotel.
Noise carries between rooms and in stairwells but probably an occupational hazard as in most places. Restaurant closed on the Friday evening when I arrived - no prior notification of this. Check out a little trying as staff member did not seem overly familiar with the credit card machine (I ended up doing it myself!).
Thin curtains so very bright room and no double glazing so road noise made it hard to sleep.
