Excellent room, good food and first class professional staff.
staff was very welcoming, a decent stay with good value for money.
Location - is a bit remote. Menu does not have much of vegetarian choices.
Staff were incredibly helpful. Had to leave very early in the morning, checking out was easy and they even made me breakfast before the restaurant was open. Highly recommended
Room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff was nice and helpful. The hotel has views of the country side
Location was great overlooking Sutton Bank.
Check towels, we had two bath towels only, but hand towel and bath mat were in room later. Biscuits in room later too, could have done with a biscuit when had first cuppa tea.
really helpful friendly staff, nice cosy place to stay
would have being nice if restaurant had being open on night time
Staff were lovely couldn't do enough to help you.
Excellent food and a unique menu. Breakfast good too. All very friendly and high level of cleanliness in bathroom etc.
Not hotels fault, but satnav coordinates on booking.com website is wrong!
Location to business contact and Thirsk itself.
Really great value for your money could not fault it!
Good breakfast. Very helpfull staff.
Bathroom too small and needed better cleaning in the shower.
Very littleI bub
Building of poor quality
Staff we quite friendly,
The bedroom was freezing when we were shown our room we were asked if we wanted the heating on which was controlled from reception. Had to wait over an hour for the room to warm up and then it went of again so had to ring through, same again in the morning. Take it this is cost cutting exercise. We had to eat our evening meal in the bar area with X factor on and people playing pool, the menu was pricing with not much choose. Emailed the hotel, Disappointed that I havnt had any response from the hotel regarding the above.
Decor furnishings fabrics Open space not to cluttered Friendly staff Views
No lights outside near road. Missed it twice although it was a wee bit foggy and pm. No lights in stairway when I came down in the morning.
Although check in wasn't until 3 we arrived early and were immediately shown to our rooms by a lovely receptionist. Friendly and obliging staff throughout our stay. Clean rooms and comfy beds
Walls a little thin!
Food; aesthetics of the building; comfort; friendliness of staff and welcoming of our dog.
Just one or two oversights with fixtures/fittings in our room.
I needed a hotel at fairly short notice near Northallerton. Booked this the day before as the location seemed good. Great hotel, friendly staff and free Wifi.
Not a dislike - but something to note, the postcode gets you within about 2 miles. Just need to continue along the road.
Room nice and clean
Food bland , john smiths not right
WiFi was not working in half hotel. After short discussion I received a room with acceptable internet speed . The water pressure in the shower was poor but good temp.
Location of the hotel
Bar staff making it clear that we were unwelcome and wanting to lock up
Good staff attitude, the receptionist lady was so friendly. My partner and me had nice walk next day in Sutton Bank national park which is 2 mintues driving from this hotel, quiet convenience location.
We ate in the restaurant during the evening and the food was excellent. Very helpful and cheerful staff who went out of their way to ensure an enjoyable experience. The bar area was lovely and a very relaxing atmosphere. Plentiful parking.
We would have preferred to stay in the hotel but due to overbooking we stayed in a nearby cottage but still enjoyed breakfast in the hotel which was very good. The cottage was cosy and hotel staff very apologetic about overbooking and did let us know days prior to our arrival. It really didn't spoil our stay.
The peace and quiet of the location. The polite and friendly young man who met us on arrival, served our meals and waited at the bar. He coped well with being on his own.
Ordering an evening meal and being told 3/4 choices were unavailable. Not being able to play on the pool table.
market square plus the pubs
location a bit to far to walk
the hotel is perfect for travelling to the north yorkshire moors or the dales and all the market towns around you would be very hard to please if you didnt like it is excellent value for money will be back soon
