Very littleI bub
Building of poor quality
Staff we quite friendly,
The bedroom was freezing when we were shown our room we were asked if we wanted the heating on which was controlled from reception. Had to wait over an hour for the room to warm up and then it went of again so had to ring through, same again in the morning. Take it this is cost cutting exercise. We had to eat our evening meal in the bar area with X factor on and people playing pool, the menu was pricing with not much choose. Emailed the hotel, Disappointed that I havnt had any response from the hotel regarding the above.
Decor furnishings fabrics Open space not to cluttered Friendly staff Views
No lights outside near road. Missed it twice although it was a wee bit foggy and pm. No lights in stairway when I came down in the morning.
Although check in wasn't until 3 we arrived early and were immediately shown to our rooms by a lovely receptionist. Friendly and obliging staff throughout our stay. Clean rooms and comfy beds
Walls a little thin!
Food; aesthetics of the building; comfort; friendliness of staff and welcoming of our dog.
Just one or two oversights with fixtures/fittings in our room.
I needed a hotel at fairly short notice near Northallerton. Booked this the day before as the location seemed good. Great hotel, friendly staff and free Wifi.
Not a dislike - but something to note, the postcode gets you within about 2 miles. Just need to continue along the road.
Room nice and clean
Food bland , john smiths not right
WiFi was not working in half hotel. After short discussion I received a room with acceptable internet speed . The water pressure in the shower was poor but good temp.
Location of the hotel
Bar staff making it clear that we were unwelcome and wanting to lock up
Good staff attitude, the receptionist lady was so friendly. My partner and me had nice walk next day in Sutton Bank national park which is 2 mintues driving from this hotel, quiet convenience location.
We ate in the restaurant during the evening and the food was excellent. Very helpful and cheerful staff who went out of their way to ensure an enjoyable experience. The bar area was lovely and a very relaxing atmosphere. Plentiful parking.
We would have preferred to stay in the hotel but due to overbooking we stayed in a nearby cottage but still enjoyed breakfast in the hotel which was very good. The cottage was cosy and hotel staff very apologetic about overbooking and did let us know days prior to our arrival. It really didn't spoil our stay.
The peace and quiet of the location. The polite and friendly young man who met us on arrival, served our meals and waited at the bar. He coped well with being on his own.
Ordering an evening meal and being told 3/4 choices were unavailable. Not being able to play on the pool table.
market square plus the pubs
location a bit to far to walk
the hotel is perfect for travelling to the north yorkshire moors or the dales and all the market towns around you would be very hard to please if you didnt like it is excellent value for money will be back soon
The staff were helpful and friendly The hotel was warm and comfortable the food was good and the service was excellent. The staff helpful land cheerful even under pressure
Lack of information about times of meals not written down in the welcome file in the bedroom. No rubber shower mats in the showers to prevent slipping also no table mats to stop the plates slipping when trying to cut up food apart from that excellent.
Loved the room and the evening meal in the restaurant was 1st class.
Booked a double room, but put into a family suite ( two rooms) not a problem but seemed a bit of a waste.
Location Family room Food
Needs some external lighting for when arriving in dark
Everything - it was so handy for Thirsk and surrounding area. The staff were lovely and very helpful
Rooms clean and comfortable. Plenty of hot water.
A "chef issue" meant no cooked breakfast in the morning. Assured this was a one off. Some might find the location a little remote.
the staff could not be more friendly and help full the food was excellent both me and my wife really enjoyed the whole weekend
willingness of staff to give us a better room friendly and thoughtful staff willingness of staff to go the extra mile excellent view and decent room after changing us
original room was a little too compact that they weren't expecting us - possibly booking.com had failed to ensure confirmation
Excellent evening meal and breakfast and very comfortable room
