Some areas of central Cheltenham are lovely and others, much less so. The more genteel areas have a wide range of places to eat that will suit all tastes. There are some lovely parks.
Street parking with a permit is a bit of a lottery. You may be lucky to find a spot in your zone but this could be some distance from your accommodation.

Cheltenham is a Regency town with an excellent choice of restaurants and bars and a good base to explore the Cotswolds , one of England's most beautiful areas .
The town is also a conference and events centre , with literary and jazz festivals and horse racing being the most popular events
For those of you with an appreciation of architecture , it is a treasure trove of Regency and Gothic styles .
Visitors with an interest in the history of Aviation are strongly recommended to visit the Jet Age museum nearby

Its a lovely town, We were lucky to see a show at the Everyman Theatre, which is a beautiful provincial theatre - Cheltenham is lucky to have it but it was full up on the Tuesday night we visited. We were saddened to see so many empty shops and especially that the huge Cavendish House store is closing, which will have a depressing effect on the town centre. There were lots of very nice looking restaurants and bars. We would love to visit again and spend more time looking around.

Cheltenham is a lovely historic town with plenty to see and do. There is loads of choice for dining and drinking and lots of unique shopping outlets making the place stand out compared to most towns.
I can’t say whether younger people would rate the place as highly but the majority of residents and visitors we met were older generation and very pleasant .
We attended an Elkie Brooks gig at the Town Hall which was a great experience in a lovely building. I would estimate the average age of attendees as 70+. So that confirms the target demographic of the town.

We love Cheltenham, as we used to live in Gloucestershire.
We love Cheltenham, as we used to live in Gloucestershire. We frequently travel to Cheltenham for shopping and for a meal out in one of the many restaurants. It is perfect for us for a day trip. This one night stay was because we chose to break our journey home from London, as it was the halfway point and thought that it would be nice. The hotel did not live up to expectation.

Journeying between Wales and Sussex, I wanted to meet up with my nephew. He took me to Tivoli bar - great atmosphere. One night stay in The Midland Hotel - not posh - but just right! liked the graffiti on the wall opposite, by the Station!
The location was amazing, perfect for small cafe's and boutique shops but a short walk into the main centre of Cheltenham. The flat (4, top floor) was "fine" for us for a few days, it was reasonably spacious and suited our party of 4, for 6+ it would be a squeeze since there were only 2 sofas and the kitchen/bathroom were relatively tight. Collection of the key and communications by the host were spot on, could not be simpler.....thank you.
The property is very nice, tastefully decorated and a short walk from Cheltenham city centre. The staff were courteous and friendly, on-site parking was good and the breakfast tasty. we were on a cosy double which is functional and clean, but would recommend that if availability and budget allows an upgrade to a higher room category is a nice treat!
Lovely, clean self catering flat with everything you need including a spacious kitchen with outside patio.Having a parking space for one vehicle is a huge bonus for a flat in a town centre. Great location with both restaurants and shops within walking distance.
The host was contactable and ensured we had all that we needed. .
A MUST hotel!
Everything was just incredible,
Lovely and welcoming staff, our room was incredible and well equipped, the food (breakfast and dinner) was delicious!
Great location close to all towns and the building was miraculously beautiful and well preserved.
Thank you Kevin and all the team!
Staff were great and very welcoming. Room was spacious, modern and clean. Shower was really good and two sinks ! Breakfast was good and well priced. Hotel location was within easy reach of the town centre. Would definitely stay here again. ..and finally, got to love the "pantry" in reception!!
The staff were friendly as always (we've stayed here a few times before when visiting family in Cheltenham). Always a warm welcome!
The room was lovely, spacious and clean. The bathroom was massive for a standard double!
We also loved the cosy hotel bar, a lovely spot for a night cap.
The location of the hotel was fine and the room was very clean. The Malmaison covered all the necessary Covid Guidelines and we felt perfectly safe. The simplicity of booking the car park was also very efficient. The stay was very pleasant and we would consider using this hotel again.
This lovely hotel is perfectly located for Cheltenham city centre. It has retained its Regency character but is still comfortable. It was great having a fee car park for the duration of our stay. The breakfasts were brilliant and it was nice to have a bar and lounge too.
Beautiful small hotel with gorgeous public spaces, luxurious linens/bed/pillows in a bright, lovely room, excellent en suite bath and delicious full breakfast located an easy stroll to the high street. Just terrific!
Lovely modern clean hotel near centre of Cheltenham. Ideal for trips to Gloucester and cirencester. Supermarket and take away near by. Secure parking but get your ticket validated at reception or you'll have to pay
The location was excellent. Very handy for the town centre and a lovely park for walking our dog. The staff were very courteous and friendly. We enjoyed our stay in Cheltenham. We will use this hotel again.
The apartment was lovely and clean. It was close to the centre of Cheltenham. Parking was a bonus. It was easy to get into the apartment as we were sent details in advance. Communication was good
Spacious apartment, very clean, modern, large and quiet, no noises. Located to the city center, exploring Cheltenham is easy. Easy check in, good communication with the proprietor.
