Comfortable bed and a very nice ensuit.
Could have done with double glazing to cut down the noise from the road.
Price was the cheapest
Parking and wifi are poor
We did like the overall experience just a few gripes, breakfast was excellent and room 1 was lovely, we live in an old victorian house as well.
We didn't have enough toilet rolls (only 1/2 a roll for 2 days) Cobwebs on ceiling Lining to curtains were very mildewy No room service so not enough tea/milk- they said as we were in room couldn't come in, we were around just getting ready for wedding no excuse, could have caught us in and out on day.
The bed wasn't the most comfortable. Parking was very tight, we had to wait for others to move so that we could leave the driveway.
I only met two members of staff, the young lady who checked me in and the other who was breakfast chef. Both were extremely pleasant and helpful and left me with a very good impression. The room, though basic in décor, was clean and very "roomy", comprising double bedroom, separate shower and toilet with another small room containing a single bed. The facilities were more than adequate and had access to a small balcony which, as a smoker, I appreciated.
It is tucked away in the back streets and I was very glad of the SatNav for taking me there and guiding me to the ferry terminal.
Convenient location for Gunwharf Good size bathroom with large shower all clean looking. Full English breakfast which was satisfying. Arrived early at accommodation and allowed access to room earlier. Staff pleasant and welcoming.
Mattress too soft for my wife. Difficult to get on wifi although did manage eventually.
Staff and Room
Wifi not working
Very clean and tidy room well set out and had everything I needed for an overnight stay on business. Well positioned for University and local restaurants which were within walking distance.
Location, welcoming staff, excellent full english breakfast, clean bathroom and large shower, free wifi, sky tv.
Beds in twin room soft and old with ill fitting sheets which affected sleep.
It was close to theyou find all y shops
You think you are booking bed & breakfast but its not until you get your form back all youv`e paid for is the room. We are a mature couple the only ones in the hotel they put us on the top floor in a room with seperate beds
room was cold
The shower was simple and one of the best we came across. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good. The staff on arrival and at breakfast were very helpful.
Location was so so. Parking was limited. The mattress was very thin and the bed sagged which didn't make for a good night's sleep at all.
Distance from front.
Very clean Friendly staff No noise from other guests Comfy beds Plenty restaurants within walking distance
Spoilt by the lack of sleep because of the uncomfortable beds. The location alright for our purposes but for anyone expecting to be within walking distance of the seafront it would be a big disappointment, and not really feasible. For theses reasons I feel the room rate was more expensive than warranted especially as we had the "cheapest" twin room and other places we have stayed in Southsea have always given us much better value for money and a good nights sleep!
A very friendly welcome, pleasantly furnished and nice and clean.
Carpets could do with updating.
We were charged £145 for one night here and from the photos were expecting a far higher standard. We were very disappointed. This B&B is very average and totally overpriced for what you get. Our room overlooked a very busy road and the breakfast was a standard greasy spoon. No options for vegetarians and no imagination. The whole place feels very dated and we left feeling like we had been totally ripped off. I cannot see how these prices are justified.
Reasonably placed to enjoy Southsea Some lively bars and half decent eating places within a 5 - 10 minute walk
clean, comfortable, friendly staff and owner. basic but very nice breakfast .kitchen could do with better exhaust to get rid of the cooking smell from the rest of the house
parking tight ,different floor levels between bedrooms and bathrooms can catch you out until you get used to them .bathroom in first room very tight but the next room was enormous
Good breakfast plenty to choose from, friendly staff, very clean, and fresh fruit in the room.
Lovely room, spacious and comfortable. Amiable staff. Good breakfast.
Clean, comfortable guesthouse, relatively quiet but central location. Staff pleasant and helpful.
The room was fine - a bit flouncy and flowery, but comfy and clean.
I think I was overcharged, or misled about the charge. Also the parking was ridiculously tight.
The room was very well decorated and cosy and the bed was confortable. The owner was very friendly and helpful when we asked him some questions about the area. Free parking was a bonus too
This place was AWFUL!! I liked NOTHING
This was a TERRIBLE place. No charm, no WiFi, lumpy saggy bed, impossibly thin towels. No one was there to greet us, no one to help us with the WiFi. Shame on the absentee owner. The worst B&B experiences of my life.
