The price we paid for a 2night stay was was over £100 per night certainly over priced for this accommodation.
The large room location not bad
the bed was so uncomfortable , the mattress sagged in the middle and wasn't good quality . added to this the linen so old it was falling apart and grey . i thought i was booking bed and breakfast but discovered after i arrived that it was only the room i'd paid for .
the bathroom was the best part our stay , the room was quite spacious
Was up graded to larger room than I had booked. Perfectly adequate B and B for a brief stay.
On-site car park is very tight. On street car parking would be a lottery.
Close to ferry terminals. Excellent restaurant nearby
We only stayed a few nights but the beds were comfortable and the room was plenty big enough even though it was described as a small twin. We could have had breakfast as an extra but didn't need to. Nice and close to Fratton station too.
Bed was not really "firm" enough for me, but adequate. Car parking was very "tight" for large cars.
Cleanliness, pleasent & very helpfull staff, good breakfast.
Easy access to ferry port
My room was very clean and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful and a good breakfast served.
Could have done with double glazing to cut down the noise from the road.
Comfortable bed and a very nice ensuit.
Parking and wifi are poor
Price was the cheapest
We didn't have enough toilet rolls (only 1/2 a roll for 2 days) Cobwebs on ceiling Lining to curtains were very mildewy No room service so not enough tea/milk- they said as we were in room couldn't come in, we were around just getting ready for wedding no excuse, could have caught us in and out on day.
We did like the overall experience just a few gripes, breakfast was excellent and room 1 was lovely, we live in an old victorian house as well.
The bed wasn't the most comfortable. Parking was very tight, we had to wait for others to move so that we could leave the driveway.
It is tucked away in the back streets and I was very glad of the SatNav for taking me there and guiding me to the ferry terminal.
I only met two members of staff, the young lady who checked me in and the other who was breakfast chef. Both were extremely pleasant and helpful and left me with a very good impression. The room, though basic in décor, was clean and very "roomy", comprising double bedroom, separate shower and toilet with another small room containing a single bed. The facilities were more than adequate and had access to a small balcony which, as a smoker, I appreciated.
Mattress too soft for my wife. Difficult to get on wifi although did manage eventually.
Convenient location for Gunwharf Good size bathroom with large shower all clean looking. Full English breakfast which was satisfying. Arrived early at accommodation and allowed access to room earlier. Staff pleasant and welcoming.
Wifi not working
Staff and Room
Very clean and tidy room well set out and had everything I needed for an overnight stay on business. Well positioned for University and local restaurants which were within walking distance.
Beds in twin room soft and old with ill fitting sheets which affected sleep.
Location, welcoming staff, excellent full english breakfast, clean bathroom and large shower, free wifi, sky tv.
You think you are booking bed & breakfast but its not until you get your form back all youv`e paid for is the room. We are a mature couple the only ones in the hotel they put us on the top floor in a room with seperate beds
It was close to theyou find all y shops
room was cold
Location was so so. Parking was limited. The mattress was very thin and the bed sagged which didn't make for a good night's sleep at all.
The shower was simple and one of the best we came across. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good. The staff on arrival and at breakfast were very helpful.
Distance from front.
Very clean Friendly staff No noise from other guests Comfy beds Plenty restaurants within walking distance
Spoilt by the lack of sleep because of the uncomfortable beds. The location alright for our purposes but for anyone expecting to be within walking distance of the seafront it would be a big disappointment, and not really feasible. For theses reasons I feel the room rate was more expensive than warranted especially as we had the "cheapest" twin room and other places we have stayed in Southsea have always given us much better value for money and a good nights sleep!
Carpets could do with updating.
A very friendly welcome, pleasantly furnished and nice and clean.
We were charged £145 for one night here and from the photos were expecting a far higher standard. We were very disappointed. This B&B is very average and totally overpriced for what you get. Our room overlooked a very busy road and the breakfast was a standard greasy spoon. No options for vegetarians and no imagination. The whole place feels very dated and we left feeling like we had been totally ripped off. I cannot see how these prices are justified.
