location was perfect for what we needed.
This hotel is ideally placed for a visit to the BIC, close to the beach and the town and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, and location is perfect.
Hotel was a little bit creaky but nothing major and certainly wouldn't put us off staying again
Closeness to town for member of party with disabilities Warm in all rooms Constant hot water Good Value for Money
Small, friendly, bright. Parking outside front door. Close to Pavillion, seafront, BIC. Very resonable cost, good breakfast.
Noise from the genertor running the ice rink cooling all night in the Pleasure Gardens - not the hotels fault. Could be an Environmental Health Officer issue, particularly if the temporary rink is controlled by the Council ?
Friendly staff, nothing was to much trouble, always had a smile, warm & friendly atmosphere. Excellent breakfast. Will stay here again.
Shower was to small.
My Wife and I have stayed at Whitehall twice now and loved it. We find the staff very friendly and helpful and the location is great. The Quality of the food is great and we plan to keep staying at Whitehall on as many future occasions as we can.
The location, staff were helpful, breakfast was good, an interesting building with unusual decoration
Room and bathroom were on the small side, otherwise it was very good
Location Food Comfort
Very tired needs updating
Too hot in corridors leading to rooms
It was in a great position for the town, beach and BIC. The hotel was spotlessly clean.
Had the feel of an nursing home! Very worn and dated. Bed like a rock - caused a lot of pain to my arthritis. Hope they have a refurbishment plan!
Friendliness of staff and great location, lovely clean bathroom.
Very old fashioned blankets on beds creaky floor boards
With reduced rate via booking.com, stay was good value. Room was basic but adequate and clean. Central location ideal for walking to Bournemouth Centre and to the Beach. Staff were extremely helpful. I had forgotten to say I have a dairy free diet, but soya milk was readily available. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff at breakfast.
Hotel is in need of refurbishment with squeaky floorboards aplenty. Some re-decoration required.
View of the park from our room was superb. Excellent location close to beach and town. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay.
STAFF ROOM VALUE BREAKFAST
I found the staff abrupt and unwelcoming. The hotel was extremely dated the room was uncomfortable and the hotel was extremely loud in the morning. I was woken at 8 by the house keeper hoovering and banging outside our door. The car park is also very small and we were blocked in all night and couldn't get out in the morning either so we left the car where it was and then I received a snotty voicemail from the staff telling us to move. Definitely wouldn't go again.
A bit noisy from the winter gardens, but that's not your fault
nice friendly staff, comfortable room ,and a nice experience staying in the period building
The quality of staff in all departments was excellent. The breakfast was very good and plentiful for those who enjoy the full english breakfast.Negotiating the ancient lift was always a challenge and made for some light relief with other guests, never knowing if it would take you where you wanted or if you were to be whisked to upper climbs before you could press the button to go down to the ground floor.
Some tender love and care is badly needed here. They would do well to concentrate on their bowling club groups to the exclusion of individual guests, who felt "crowded out" by these groups particularly in the public rooms, restaurant etc. The car parking was diabolical and we who had a taxi from Essex, had to arrange with reception for our taxi to get near enough to the front door to load our cases and suits into the car.The front door being locked at 9.30 p.m. reminded us of seaside landladies in less reputable resorts!
Everybody was friendly you could park at the hotel - cars could be juggled about if you need to get out before others. We only had the breakfasts which were very good and the main menu for evening meals looked very good. The hotel is situated right in the centre of Bournemouth which was excellent for us
The only downside to us was that the hotel was full of older people who were there for Bowls competitions - there were no people there of our age (55) BUT saying that we would go back again for the convenience of its location etc!
very friendly happy looking staff. View from terrace and our 3rd floor room. It is always useful to have two entrances .The Steps up from the Park way are very high and I personally did find it challenging but that is because I have Knee problems . Food was very well cooked. Everything very clean .
We are no longer used to Sheets and blankets . and did not like the Blankets as they were heavy although didn't need over us much as very warm. The Sheets were spotless but we just found it very unusual these days to have blankets. A very small coffee table would have been useful to put our cups on when sitting looking out of the window in our lovely comfy tub chairs. As said before it was my knees that did not like the steps up Park Way .or down .
Instant access to the Bournemouth gardens ..a few minutes into town...a few minutes to the beach
The ancient lift and no suitable mirror for my wife to sit and get ready.
- Location is great
- The staircase smells of food - The entire building is in the need of refurbishment - Looks like this hotel is for elderly people
It is close to the town and services, the staff were excellent. Breakfast was excellent
Our room on the top floor suffered from low water pressure but was always hot. Car parking was at a premium but we left our keys with reception and they sort the parking.
The quirkiness of the place, creaky floorboards etc all adding to the character of the hotel. Staff were excellent. Location was great...right in the center of it all. Great breakfast.
We found the bed to be very firm, almost to the point of no give in the mattress but i guess thats just a personal thing and what you're used to. Parking is very tight.
