On a positive note the staff and the Hotel and food was excellent. On a negative point, at dinner we had to wait a long time to be served our food in between courses. Only 2 staff were available to take our orders and to serve the food.

we stayed overnight on New years Eve after a very enjoyable evening it was nice just to go to our room instead of waiting for a taxi . If anything it could do with a bit of an update slightly ripped wallpaper and needed distance glasses on to see TV!!!!!

The staff were extremely friendly but not pushy. They made me very welcome and I felt that nothing was too much trouble I would have liked a bit more light in the bedroom for working purposes. It was just slightly too dull, even with all the lights on to read small print etc.

Traditional Victorian sitting rooms and beautiful modern bedrooms. Excellent quality and range of food. Helpful staff. All at very reasonable price. Mattress was a bit bouncy!

Whitehall hotel has exceptionally friendly staff. They really couldn't do enough for me. My room had recently been refurbished to a good standard and was ver comfortable. It was really quiet too so I slept really well. The dinner and breakfast were very well cooked and the service was excellent. Well done Whitehall hotel. First class!

We attended a Wedding, which was lovely and great for winter as all indoors. A little disappointed for a hotel which charged £85 per night, the rooms seemed fairly new, yet the trouser press didn't produce heat, their was no hot water on the first morning. Cooked breakfast wasn't the most apetising and service was a little slow.

We stayed for a family wedding held at the hotel so for ease it was perfect. The room although 'executive' was dated in both decor and facilities - tap based shower, no shower curtain and very wet floor as result. There was one hand towel, no bath mat, one days wirth of tea , milk etc. The bedtoom whilst suitably dusted etc had many cobwebs- one with dead spider and a ceiling tile missing in the bathroom. The kettle had exposed wires into the lead and only worked when manually adjusted to connect. Staff were friendly but overly visible.

Location, surroundings and food. Pillows much to hard with no option of a softer one, to late to ask reception. Menu in restuarant was confusing, it was not clear that the Special menu was a supplement price. I would prefer a shower, but this was not give as an option.

Our room was comfortable and, at night, it was very dark and quiet so easy to sleep well. Also comfy bed and excellent pillows. Our bathroom was huge with a jaccuzzi bath. The public rooms were very relaxing with lots of leather chesterfields and comfy sofas and armchairs. The staff were very obliging when we asked for some tea. We dined in Mjs restaurant on the Friday evening and had a superb three course meal. The restaurant is very modern in contrast to the rest of the hotel. My husband would have liked a proper shower rather than the hand held one over the bath.

An excellent family-run business. The staff are first rate: extremely helpful and friendly, and show great initiative. The food, too, is excellent. Breakfasts are generous and good quality, and the restaurant menu is delicious. I would, and do, recommend this hotel to others. I always enjoy my visits and wouldn't stay anywhere else in the area.

I went with my daughter to a family event. The staff were very friendly and helpful with all our family members. The hotel was very comfortable the older part being a little tired but we were very lucky staying in the new extension on the ground floor. There was a shower screen missing but this did not bother us for just one night. The food at the event was very good followed by a good breakfast the following morning. The general atmosphere of the hotel was very friendly and felt clean and tidy. Just a little tired in the older part.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was excellent. The hotel is looking a little tired and well-used. Fittings in the rooms could do with some attention E.G. shelf in shower broken off so nowhere to put one's shower gel other than on floor.

My husband and I got married at the hotel in 2007 and had a fantastic wedding. So we decided to spend the night in the hotel and visit the MJs restaurant again. Wow our room was lovely we stayed in one of the country yard rooms with a lovely big spa bath. The restaurant was amazing the food was first-class. The wild berry cheese cake is amazing!!!!!!!!!!! The hotel staff were lovely especially Ryan, breakfast was lovely. Our stay bought back so many wonderful memories of our big day we will be defently be visiting again. Nothing we would of changed about our visit!
