“ A nice relaxed feeling about the area & hotel ”
Edward,
St.sampsons
This restored 15th century coaching inn is situated in the heart of the small medieval city of Wells, by the cathedral green, just metres away from the ancient marketplace. Situated in the city centre, the hotel is a great base from which to discover historic Wells and the surrounding areas of beauty and interest in Somerset. Bristol, Bath, Glastonbury, Cheddar, Clarks Village, Wookey Hole and Longleat are all close by. The White Hart Hotel, together with Brufani's Restaurant, is now a well-established fixture in Wells, offering bed and breakfast accommodation, with a full cooked English breakfast included in the room rate. The hotel offer 15 refurbished en suite bedrooms, a large function and banqueting suite and a ground-floor restaurant. All of the rooms are individually decorated and many still retain some of the more interesting original historical features of the building, while simultaneously incorporating modern comforts and facilities. Inn: 15 rooms The most recent booking for this hotel was made on 22 May at 04:07 from United Kingdom.

We enjoyed our stay of three nights, good room good service, brilliant location and good choice of food. Why use cheap sausages when local butchers will no doubt supply real quality from locally farmed animals

Great location minutes from Cathdral. Friendly helpful reception staff. Very tight parking, although staff were very helpful & found me a parking space & parked car for me even though it was pouring with rain. Very disappointed with breakfast. Not a lot of choice on buffet table & yoghurt served from the large supermarket pots didn't impress me. Either use individual pots or dispense into serving containers! Also, waitress took order for cooked breakfast & brought it to table before we had even started to eat our cereals so she had to take it away & keep it warm.

The location was excellent - right in the middle of town and the staff were all very polite and friendly. Breakfast was very good. The bedroom was a bit dusty and neglected looking (to be fair, after mentioning this it was cleaned beautifully!)

Beautiful building in good location, nice breakfast. Clean and comfortable room. Good value The hotel manager acknowledged the problem with our booking and took appropriate action. Our booking was not picked up so we had to stay in the sister hotel across the road - much smaller room and anxiety about what would have happened if we had come late at night

Room was clean and breakfast was very nice. We were in room 8 and my daughter and myself were freezing cold all night the radiator was on but no way was it adequate for the size of the room. We also had to park in the square by the crown pub and had to pay for parking as no space at the White Hart.

Best thing about the White Hart is the location, within walking distance of the Cathedral and local amenities. Previous reviews have mentioned a number of issues, namely car parking which is in a rear courtyard and is very tight/limited. One previous reviewer stated a 2 star property charging 4 star prices, I think this describes it accurately as the whole of the property is tired and needs a total revamp. On the hotel website states 15 refurbished rooms, would question when the refurbishment is due to take place. Number of minor problems that are indicative of the hotel, lots of light bulbs not working in various locations including the rear yard/car parking area and next to the slippery wooden ramp giving access to the lower ground floor rooms in the rear stable block.

Very convenient for visiting Grandson at Wells School. Close to all required amenities for such a visit. Welcome is always warm and staff very courteous and helpful. Room very clean and comfortable with exception of comment made below Small criticism in that shower head was very grimy and some moulding in the shower cubicle itself

The White Hart was a convienant location for us to visit our son who lives in Wells we felt the decoration in the hotel room was a bit dated and although clean the shower room could do with updating ie the carpet on the floor has passed its best. There was also little choice for the breakfast (no fish option)
