Westcliff On Sea
This restored 15th century coaching inn is situated in the heart of the small medieval city of Wells, by the cathedral green, just yards from the ancient marketplace. Situated in the center of the city, the hotel is a great base from which to discover historic Wells and the surrounding areas of beauty and interest in Somerset. Bristol, Bath, Glastonbury, Cheddar, Clarks Village, Wookey Hole and Longleat are all close by. The White Hart Hotel, together with Brufani's Restaurant, is now a well-established fixture in Wells, offering accommodations, with a full cooked English breakfast included in the room rate. The hotel offerd 15 refurbished bedrooms with private bathrooms, a large function and banqueting suite and a first-floor restaurant. All of the rooms are individually decorated and many still retain some of the more interesting original features of the building, while simultaneously incorporating modern comforts and facilities. Nice hotel in the centre of Wells. Fantastic service all round - burgers were amazing. Really enjoyed our stay - just the size of the car park was a little difficult to manoeuvre around. The cracked basin the bathroom

The room was very noisy and draughty. There was a constant drip the first night (I guess from the guttering) and the small window had no catch so kept opening and banging shut on the second night.

The situation of the hotel was good, close to Wells Cathedral. The staff were very polite and helpful. The evening meal that we had was well presented and good value. Although the room was clean and comfortable,on arrival we found it very cold in there. After enquiring about heating were told that as the weather had been good, the heating had been turned off. actually the day was very cold and just ten degrees outside. The heating was turned on for us ,but we went into the Cathedral to get warm while the room was warming up! I think because the building was very old [we were not in the main hotel, but in a room out the back] the sun did not reach those rooms. A thoroughly enjoyable stay despite this.

The location, nice and close to the cathedral and within the town centre, was first class and cannot be faulted. The breakfast was good with decent options and a well cooked and presented full English or vegetarian (we had both). Room and overall decor were rather tired looking. Bedroom was small and only just adequate for one nights stay. Parking was tight and problematic if arriving late. Over-provision of no smoking notices and consequential penalities, understood, but guests should not be likened to naughty children!

Full of character. Car park in city a bonus, but only if you have a small car - parking is tight! The bed linen was high quality and bath towels bright white and also good quality. Breakfast supplied all that you could want from cereal to full english. service attentive. The fact that the hotel is in the centre of the city of Wells is marvellous - great for sightseeing.

The room was clean, the staff was very friendly. I was in room #9 and was never disturbed by noise from other guests coming or going. As a business traveler, I needed to be in the office by 8am. Not serving breakfast until 7:30, made it difficult to have breakfast and still get to work on time. I also found the internet access to be spotty while in the room.

The location was fantastic and we were lucky enough to get the only room with a view of the top of the Cathedral. The food was lovely and excellent value especially compared to some of the alternatives in the town. It also provided food for all tastes, it was not too gourmet in its options.

Value, friendly staff, quality food, perfect breakfast, excellent location. Constant background hum throughout day & night, no natural light in bathroom, small bathroom in need of updating, no extra pillows in room.

The hotel is comfortable and friendly, and makes good use of its associations with other hotels nearby, to extend the range of dining and services offered to guests. The Italian restaurant nearby, in one of the related hotels is a little oversold, and the food did not live up to the recommendation.

Very convenient, excellent food and friendly staff The entertainment from Room 2 the night we stayed, was like listening to the soundtrack of a porn movie. The couple next door enjoyed their coupling, but we did sleep well afterwards!
