Food is excellent
The breakfast was good. The lady who served us was helpful and friendly
I felt that our room was in need of refurbishment. The central heating was not working although there were two plug in radiators that we used. The tv was also not working. The water in the shower took quite a while to warm up.
Cosy bar and good well served food in restaurant
Problem with central heating radiator not working and the room being cold but this was quickly remedied by the staff as soon as they were advised.
The breakfast was excellent. Dinner was good value. The hotel was very central for the purpose of our visit. Good atmosphere in the bar area and helpful staff. Bathroom and bedroom were exceptionally clean.
Room below standard expected. Breakfast staff need more training. Hotel in need of refurbishment.
Breakfast was fantastic room was lovely staff friendly and helpful town had coop open 7 days a week pub opposite also nice staff
No reception on mobile phones but not hotels fault
Very good, friendly staff. I had an excellent meal in the pub restaurant and the breakfast was very good too, even though I had to wait for the chef to arrive to cook it at 8:30 on Sunday. The room was individual as befits an old property developed over time but comfortable and the bed very nice leading to a very good night's sleep.
No Wi-Fi in the room, at least up where I was. No mobile phone signal (not the hotel's fault) but then I found that the phone in the room was not connected. It was a good job I wasn't in a rush as the chef didn't arrive for breakfast until 8:30 on the Sunday morning.
Lovely hotel with character. Friendly staff. Spacious, clean en-suite bathrooms, Lovely bedrooms.
Breakfast was hearty and plentiful for meat-eaters, but would have also liked lighter fruit / yoghurt option.
The friendliness of the lady that served breakfast and checked us out and the member of staff that told us where the venue for our evening celebration was located. A bath in the en suite and the general atmosphere of the White Hart. Even though it is a town centre location, there was no overnight noise from outside. Good value for money.
Our family booked independently of us and the prices varied despite the rooms being similar. We need not have "upgraded" paying an extra £10 as all 3 rooms were much the same.
No help offered with bags.
Kept getting lost in the corridors!
staff very friendly and helpful could not do enough to help
other guest taking your table for breakfast
Quiet room (3) very clean with good bedding thoroughly enjoyed our choice on both lunchtime and dinner menu Friendly atmosphere Car park
We just managed but because of the steep steps down to bathroom consider room 3 unsuitable for elderly or infirm guests.
Food was very good Most of the Staff were friendly and helpful Nicki and Lindsey were both very helpful - thankyou
Bathroom fittings (which wre sorted while we were there) Sometimes we did not know who was in charge - especially at night
We made a last minute decision to take a weekend break with three generations ranging from 14-74years. The staff made all five of us very welcome and in spite of the late booking we were given two comfortable rooms with everything one could wish for. The menu catered for our diverse tastes and we were all delighted with our nourishing evening meal. We were equally impressed by the full English breakfast the following two mornings that kept all of us sustained till our evening meal.
Didn't like to leave! We all had such a wonderful time
Very pleasant spot to stay. Staff very helpful and efficient and food very good, presentation excellent.
Stairs a bit steep for less able bodied people
The food was excellent, but the staff were really superb
This was a booking made right at the last minute and we were made very welcome. We decided to have an evening meal at The White Hart, which was not only generous, but extremely tasty and beautifully presented. Breakfast was included for us both and there was quite a selection to choose from. I would stay again.
The room was right at the back of the hotel so the wifi didnt work. The room was quite dusty, and one of the bedside lights didnt work. The hotel was slightly understaffed for a bank holiday weekend which meant breakfast was chaotic and a bit of a wait.
Breakfast and Dinner menu was great and the quality of the food excellent. The Sunday roast was beautifully presented and hearty. The service was great, really friendly. A lovely relaxed feel with a good atmosphere. The locals seem to enjoy the presence of and welcome visitors.
White Heart hotel provided us with cosy bed and delicious dinner ans this is exactly what we were looking for after long day on the road. Staff is also very helpful and polite.
Clean room, and good service at a reasonable cost. Breakfast was very good. Would stay again.
Room got quite hot during the day. Wifi reception in the room was intermittent. A bit noisy as room faced main road.
Breakfast very nice but served a bit late!
The rooms were very hot so had tohave windows open, very noisy, rudely woken12.45 by people outside not quiet till after 2pm! Could still hear people with windows shut!
the fact that there was a room available, after a long drive and nothing booked on a bank holiday we were pleased to find a room. The evening meal was excellent and the service in the evening was good. Unfortunately the morning was a different story.....
No bath despite the write up stating there was, not usually an issue but we had had a long drive and had got ourselves excited about a soak in the bath only to be told on arrival our room didn't have one, the lady was very apologetic. The breakfast set up was poor. We arrived at breakfast greeted the member of staff on duty and asked where we should sit. After cereal we waited and waited before my partner went and found the same person to take our order of tea and toast. The round of toast when it came (considering we had no cooked breakfast) consisted of 3 small slices of 'bread' cut in half. There wasn't enough staff on duty, we were overlooked quite a few times despite speaking to the lad on our arrival. There didn't seem to be any organisation to it, a pot of tea shortly after being seated would have gone down well. People waiting to check out also waited a long time to hand keys back.
The location was good and private parking bonus. The room was ok although in need of a refurb i.e. no extactor and poor lighting in bathroom.. really comfortable bed.
Very poor service at breakfast i.e. tables weren't cleared promptly or properly (on the first morning we actually ate our breakfast with the previous occupants dirty crockery!!). Other residents had to wait a long time to be served. Check out in the mornings was very slow due to there being nobody on reception - a waiter had to leave his serving duties to check people out which slowed breakfast even more
couldn't stand up in the shower grotty shower curtain
