The mercure corporate logo in many places. It should keep its original look and feel!
Loud street noise and music at night
The staircase carpet is in need of replacement.
The front of house staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Evening meal was mediocre and poor value for money. Charging more for breakfast if not booked in advance and relying on reception staff to tell you this.
Good central location near to cathedral close.
The hotel is in an ideal location and the delights of Salisbury, particularly the Cathedral, are right on your doorstep. The only minor point I would make is that the large room I had on the first floor was a little noisy being on the main road side of the hotel although traffic noise calmed after 10:30.
I stayed here for business on two consecutive weeks in March. The very friendly, professional and cheerful staff were first class in every part of the hotel and nothing was too much trouble.
The staff were so friendly....went out of their way to be helpful and welcoming.
Attended private function. Hot & cold buffet minimum choice & over priced. Hot food only luke warm. Lighting in function room far too bright with no dimmer switch option. Carpets on some landing areas were thread bare & so was the chair in the bedroom.
Good location with ample parking. Early check in & able to leave car in car park after check out. Friendly & helpful staff.
Not near any patches of grass for the dog!
Lovely room. Central location. Dog friendly.
Needs updating in all areas.
The staff were great.
We were in a room directly above traffic lights so had very noisy engine noises continuously through the night so couild not sleep Mentioned it in the morning but no response
Staff not very helpful. Expensive. Lacked facilities. No lift. Extra cost for parking. Relies on location.
Location was perfect. We could walk to all the major sights and shops.
Really good service from the moment we walked through the door, delicious breakfast and dinner, relaxed atmosphere.
Althought we clearly statewd that we are attending a wedding we had to pay for the parking. The bill was also incorrect.
lack of lift
Lack of a lift
Excellent welcome on arrival. The staff were attentive throughout
There was only 2 tiny milk sachets , one was off , I would suggest adding a few more to the tray . But reception sorted this, and was given some lovely coffee thankyou
The room was lovely and clean
£6.50 to park at the hotel is ridiculous and no breakfast included.
Nice room with a view of the cathedral
Not too happy about being woken at 6.15 with someone hoovering!!!! Meant to be a relaxing stay and was looking forward to a lay-in
Cream tea so lovely
I had booked an executive room, because I thought that this would give us at least chairs to sit in. However the room was tiny and the only concession to an executive room was a Nespresso machine with three coffee pods. There was a comfortable chair in the room, but you couldn't pull it out from under the dressing table as it would hit the bed. The room would have been snug as a standard, and if we had been charged for a standard room we would have been content. The staff were all very nice and friendly, but the end result was feeling that it was a rip off.
The only very slight niggle is that the decor needs updating and the carpet in places (the corridor) was shabby and could have done with a clean.
The room was very clean and comfortable, the bath room was spotless and the breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Unfortunately we had a big meal the night before and were unable to do justice to the superb breakfast spread. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Location is very good.
Could get the shower to work properly. Also charged £20 from my debit card for no reason, still waiting for it to be credited back 5 days after my stay. Annoying to say the least.
The only slight niggle , the bar prices for drink Merlot at £10 a glass slightly excessive!!
I wanted a central location with on site parking and a degree of comfort . The hotel provided all of this, the breakfast was excellent and the bar snack which was the only other meal we ate was lovely. The bedroom was comfortable with a decent bathroom
We had booked and paid for 3days well in advance to our stay. But our circumstances changed and we said we still wished to stay for 3days, but to come one day earlier and then to leave one day earlier. After lengthy discussions with Booking.com we were not allowed to do this, and had to forfeit one night we had paid for !!
We had asked for a high level room overlooking the front. We were given exactly what we had asked for in the form of a suite, with the added bonus of views of Salisbury Cathedral !
Great location for cathedral
In town location with parking
