I was ringing for an hour before I arrived and no one answered the phone. This was extremely frustrating as I couldn't find the car park after 5 hrs of driving!
Noisy throughout night - badly fitting door Small room Black mould in shower screen and broken face to shower Threadbare carpet
Lack of lighting in the room
Breakfast good, but staff too hasty with courses. Car park very good. Cathedral wonderful. What an opportunity for the hotel.
Superior bedroom over traffic lights. No air con impossible to sleep with window open. To improve this they have to invest. It must be obvious to the Management.
Good carparking Fabulous Breakfast Excellent service in the dining room and in the bar. Reception personal very freindly and helpful.
No lift but the other features helped us to not notice.
How close to all city highlights
Staff , location ,breakfast History .
Two fire drills 5 30 Sunday morning ! Even then good natured friendly clients and staff.
The location was perfect for sightseeing. The room was comfortable and clean. The food was really good and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The history Salisbury a beautiful city. Have been visiting the White Hart many years - love it. Staff friendly and good.
Stairs are a bind but understand old building. Our room overlooking road a bit noisy - traffic.
Easy find, travel to/from etc.
No lift, room converted from twin to double (badly).
Location was spot on, right in the centre. service from staff was excellent, polite, excellent service.
Nothing I didn't like
Location, staff polite
You should not have to pay for parking on top of the cost of the room. Price expensive for what you get
Good, central location. Quality of evening meal.
£15.50 for breakfast seems over the top!
We really enjoyed our stay with you. and will be passing this information on to friends who are planning to travel next year. Thank you for a great stay.
Lovely and clean hotel with very comfy bed!
Our room was very hot which was a shame!
Welcoming atmosphere Excellent food & dining room Comfortable bedrooms Functional bathrooms Guests' amenities provided Light meals served in sitting rooms if requested Wide staircases
Lack of elevators to service upper floors
Location close to everything Nice rooms, mine had airco Very good breakfast Big parking lot (which you'd better know about in advance though)
No lift The staff wasn't aware about Stongehenge's ticket arrangements. You should really book in advance to avoid queues!
The location was very central and quite easy to find, although the car park is behind the hotel and had to be approached through two sets of traffic lights.
The room was too hot. There was no air conditioning but a fan was supplied. This had to be on all day and night to keep the room at a reasonable temperature. We had to pay for parking the car!! There was not lift. We are quite mature and had to carry our cases up two flghts of stairs. The breakfast closed at 9.30am.We arrived at 9.35am and were offered a small breakfast/snack in the lounge. The next day only one of us had breakfast but on both occasons we were charged for two breakfasts.
loved the style of hotel
restaurant very dated bar staff not friendly no air conditioning in room
The desk woman was very helpful and made our stay quite enjoyable.
Impressive staff; Excellent location, close to the township.
For older adults the changing levels at floor level can be a challenge
Parking Receptionists where positive
Breakfast was chaotic,Kippers where badly cooked.Fire Alarm went off on two separate days. Noise from street at night not sheltered by Double Glazing
Location, and EXECUTIVE Room! Reception staff and breakfast staff. Fabulous breakfast. We enjoyed our stay once we got beyond the initial problem of an inferior room.
CLASSIC room which was old, with worn carpet, no air con. and dated bathroom. There are 5 photos of bedrooms on booking.com, and not one of them is of these "old"rooms!! All photos on booking.com are of EXECUTIVE rooms, even those purporting to be CLASSIC. We were given an executive room after protesting. Come clean Mercure! Service in lounge and bar area pretty much non-existent. Luckily there are 3 pubs within a few seconds walk.
The price and having to quibble about the inclusion of breakfast which was clearly stated at the outset as being inclusive. Although we were eventually believed we were left to feel as though the hotel was doing us a favour when all that was being done was honouring the initial offer, On numerous occasions staff declined to give way when passing in a confined space (stairway, corridor etc) requiring the guest to stand back. Not a big issue but when this happened to us or was observed by us to happen to other guests on four occasions during a one night stay we do question whether this is standard behaviour. If so it does not make guests feel special which we would have thought was the objective of a successful hotel.
