We loved the comfort of the room and public areas. The breakfast menu was excellent, good quality and very well presented. The location of the hotel is very good with good transport links into Brixham and other towns nearby. Although the Hotel has a bar, we found the nearby Pub/Restaurant a really good alternative.
Our only critiscism was the rather low water pressure, which made showering a little slow.
Friendly staff ,very helpful ,we could not have been happier we would visit again, and recommend the hotel .
Welcome and help from hosts. Good breakfast efficiently delivered. Open views from our two bedrooms. Convenient for steam train station with trains not running after about 5pm.
Property a little tired looking outside, but early days for hosts. Everything else outweighed this aspect.
Lovely guest house, spacious rooms, excellent well cooked breakfast, great hosts, old world charm
Found the room to be spotlessly clean and comfortable. The breakfast was certainly worth getting up for and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel
Room was spotless and nicely furnished. Comfortable bed. Nice view. Good breakfast.
A duvet instead of blankets would have been nice, but not a problem, it was very comfortable.
Welcome from owners was very good. Breakfast excellent. Friendly atmosphere. Easy public transport. Parking available. Relaxing lounge/bar.
There was nothing to not like.
Convenient location for Brixham
Smell of drains in family room which was pretty basic. Would not recommend the family room.
we enjoyed the white horse .we were able to come and go a we pleased ,nothing was any problem. we also liked being near the steam railway getting out and about was good. all in all very nice
The welcome was very friendly, nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent. Room very comfortable and clean, spacious. Tea and coffee making facilities very good as was the hot chocolate and biscuits.
I really prefer a duvet to blankets. Apart from that, all was good.
Everything. Location because we love trains. Comfort in the room because we maximised everyday and overnight sleep was important. So much choice at breakfast and all lovely food. Friendly owners. Cleanliness. Lovely big en-suite with lovely little touches in it. Absolutely nothing negative to report. Had a great stay. Thank you Sandra and Ron.
This the best place I have stayed ever . I cannot find anything to even have a minor moan about. It scores twelve out of ten
Everything was just great. very friendly great location, and the trains just outside were brilliant. nostalgia
Excellent helpful hosts Spacious, clean comfortable room Excellent breakfast Bottled water provided each day Ideally located for regular bus services to various places and the steam railway. Parking spaces on site Licensed bar
There was nothing to dislike
the owners were very friendly the location was great and the breakfast was superb
only had beer in cans or bottles would have preferred draught
Everything. Good location to get around. Room was lovely and clean and furnished to a good standard. Breakfast top notch. Couldnt ask for more....
That we were only there for two days :(
Friendly and welcoming owners, very clean, good breakfast menu. Good value for money.
Made to feel welcome from the first moment; a cup of tea after a long journey added to that welcome. The fresh generous breakfast set us up next day.
Very friendly welcome and very clean room. Breakfast was suture plenty to eat and great value for the money. Recommend to anyone wanting to stay there
The hotel appeared to me as a hotel from the 1970ies and reminded me on the hotel we all know from the comedy series of the late 70ies located at Torbay and I really enjoyed that. It was always a pleasue to have a chat with the owner, he would be able to give advise on many things. We enjoyed Sandra's hospitality and her excellent breakfast.
The place would definitively get a much better atmosphere after some upgrade. Flooring and bedding were installed probably decades ago alrrady and I would think new should be available and would not necessarily ruin the house's carma. It is ashame that the outside is a bit poor - it'd be so easy to maintain some nice flowers and plants around the house but those we saw.we almost all rotten away. I have no idea how
Very helpful and informative if you ask but leave you to come and go as you will. There is nothing not to like here. Breakfast excellent and varied menu. Evening meal is also excellent again large varied menu.
Excellent room and breakfast, convenient for steam train for Dartmouth.
Difficult to cross road to drive to Brixham.!!
Everything about The White Horse was great, the staff were welcoming and friendly, the room was spotlessly clean and comfortable and there was plenty of choice for breakfast. Even though there is a steam railway station right next door, they only run during the day so there is no noise at night.
Not too keen on the sausages if I'm honest. But that was the only thing I could think of Oh and going home... I didn't like that at all!!
