the sea view
the new year eve entertainment was bad and the food was awfull.the lady told us it was a allnight buffet, but when we got there we were told it was a sit down meal at 7.30pm,the food looked like a mixture of left overs from the day.husband was sick all night. That was a extra £60 on top of our bill for staying. So if we go again ,no new years eve buffet for us.
Lovely sea view, worth paying a little extra for a room fronting onto the sea. Very quiet and peacful
Hotel in much need of redecorating,
Usual friendly service Easy parking Good food
Suggestions in the village that the hotel is closing and will be a nursing home! Although we now know this is not so the rumour could be very damaging. E.g. The Lions club are already looking for an alternative venue.
Able to meet family . Food good, both in the evening and at breakfast.
The constant traffic noise even through the night.I asked if a quiet room was possible but was told that the traffic noise was acceptable.I needed to wear earplugs.Even my husband who doesn't normally use them, needed them.A perfect solution would be window insulation.
Staff are really friendly and helpful
Friendliness of staff and the price paid. I have stayed before and am looking forward to continue using the White Horse.
Hotel is a bit run down but the price reflects this
Location, food, staff
bathroom facilities need upgrading. Walk-in showers for the elderly and infirm.
Nice location & view while eating breakfast
room was tatty. needed a refurb & bathroom tiles were stained & dirty
Staff and Food were excellant.
room was very nice and clean lovely view and balcony.bed very comfy.food in restuarant lovely although service slow but it was very busy.
when we came down to breakfast the next morning there were still glasses and general rubbish not cleared from the previous night.it had been smugglers night so very busy.but not pleasent when having breakfast
The staff are very helpfull and friendly the room was very good and the food was good to would stay again
Could not fault any thing
Everything was good, Breakfast, location superb
The only thing was the pillows for me were a bit to hard.
very helpful and pleasant staff.
1nice big car park BUT did not see a sign for entrance to hotel. Could not get into wifi.
The location is lovely and car parking easy. The breakfast sitting overlooking the sea was most enjoyable. The Sunday carvery was good and the staff obliging in finding a space for a sleeping baby ! The hotel had a welcoming atmosphere
Our room (116) apart from a lovely big bed needed refurbishment. The bathroom had black damp mould on the ceiling. A lovely dining room needs completely redecorating and the cobwebs and dust removing from the lights and the window blinds. I realise that it is the group that has to give the hotel the budget for improvements such as a new stair carpet which is threadbare in places.
Our stay was wonderful and relaxing. When I asked in advance for flowers and drinks to be waiting in our room on arrival, they did not disappoint. Nothing to fault our stay, especially the breakfast. Such a huge choice.
Had a great weekend in rottindean, lovely for a last minute booking friendly people lovely room would recamend to any one the White House to any one
The staff were very helpful in all aspects of our stay. The the evening meal, and breakfast was Very good.
The interior was a little Dated.
Sea view, shower, bed
General need for a repair and repaint.
I had to carry my case to my room I was not shown to it. It was very very old fashioned I thought I'd stepped back in time. This hotel could do with major renovations to all of the hotel especially the bedrooms. I had a suite which was a room with an ancient small sofa, chair and coffee table. The bathroom was tiny
On arrival I was told I had been upgraded to a seaview room at no extra charge. A lovely surprise. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Good location with free parking.
Light switch for bathroom was next to entrance door to bedroom.
Good attentive manager ,went an extra mile to explain the room layout .When going through booking .com ,Then check with the hotel as to where room will be.
If you want a quieter room ,pay the extra for a balcony room with view .Well worth it .Made about 10 local phone calls from room and was charged around 15 pounds .Payed it but thought it was a bit steep but the staff did kindly run phone numbers for me too.
Price and location.
Good do with a bit of tidying up.
