Score from 261 reviews Very good
The staff were very helpful in all aspects of our stay. The the evening meal, and breakfast was Very good.
The interior was a little Dated.
Sea view, shower, bed
General need for a repair and repaint.
I had to carry my case to my room I was not shown to it. It was very very old fashioned I thought I'd stepped back in time. This hotel could do with major renovations to all of the hotel especially the bedrooms. I had a suite which was a room with an ancient small sofa, chair and coffee table. The bathroom was tiny
On arrival I was told I had been upgraded to a seaview room at no extra charge. A lovely surprise. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Good location with free parking.
Light switch for bathroom was next to entrance door to bedroom.
Good attentive manager ,went an extra mile to explain the room layout .When going through booking .com ,Then check with the hotel as to where room will be.
If you want a quieter room ,pay the extra for a balcony room with view .Well worth it .Made about 10 local phone calls from room and was charged around 15 pounds .Payed it but thought it was a bit steep but the staff did kindly run phone numbers for me too.
Price and location.
Good do with a bit of tidying up.
Lunch choice and food very good. Breakfast not so good: not very appetising !
Tables which we used both felt "sticky". All hotel needs a redec ! Water took too long to warm up, we couldn't shower !
The location. The warmth of the hotel.
Some of our meals were not good. Some staff were obviously unhappy with their jobs.
Evening meal and breakfast was excellent and staff friendly. Heating very controllable and the room and bathroom were always warm
Room especially the bathroom very dated. Everything you touched was sticky including the doors on the approach to the room. I needed protective gloves to feel comfortable and the hotel needed lots of paint etc. Even the dining room tables were sticky. Beautiful view of the sea. Perhaps not again unless it is refurbished.
Friendly staff, good food and excellent position Went to this hotel in October for a week-end break, enjoyed it very much so re-visited last weekend
The location, staff and comfort of the beds.
The food in the hotel was always very good. Polite and helpful staff. Beds were comfortable. The view from the rooms with sea view was great.
Like a lot of older hotels it needs some TLC. Carpets are a bit threadbare. The bathroom could do with a paint. The tables are sticky.
The hotel had secure parking and on site restaurant.
The WiFi had to register, another login details to remember
1. Heat in bedroom and I could not get windows to open 2. noise which sounded like it was from the heating pipes in the early hours
Stunning sea view Hearty breakfast Helpful junior staff Excellent location
Very draughty french door to balcony(easily rectified with basic tools) Tired decoration to communal areas Sticky tables to public bar.
lovely location, nice and warm and pretty clean
so so run down, battered furniture, curtains and wall lights hanging down, terribly dated and untidy paintwork and wall paper. very windy and noisey through the double glazed windows. really need a complete refubishment
Comfortable Bed - room clean - Free Parking. Breakfast items of good quality and nicely presented.
Arriving into the breakfast room we weren't sure of the protocol so stood waiting to be seated - 2 members of staff at bar who ignored us so we found our own table. Unable to judge when the cooked breakfast was coming so toast was already stone cold and toaster took too long to toast so breakfast cold by the time fresh toast made. A suggestion - most hotels now have the fast conveyor style toaster which is fab and does in seconds. 1 cup of coffee at breakfast, desperately wanted a second to enjoy after the breakfast however none forthcoming and attempts to get attention of staff unsuccessful. No lock on bathroom door - not great with young child.
we loved the room 111 although there was a large van parked in front which blocked the view.
breakfast was fine but was not hot when delivered. I do like black pudding!! can this be added to the menu?
I discovered I was unable to make the date that I booked this Hotel, so I emailed a week before I was due to arrive and told them to cancel my booking, but apparently they have a no cancelation policy, so I was obliged to pay for a room and breakfast that I could not use. I will be passing through this place at least twice a month for the next six months, but certainly will not book with them again.
very pleasant staff made us feel welcome. lovely spacious room, comfortable bed.food delicious food. we will return again
no complaints thank you
We loved the room it had the most wonderful view from the balcony of the sea. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the room was very clean and spacious. We had a delicious evening meal and a lovely breakfast too.
On arrival there was not a very warm welcome. No smiles or friendliness from one of the staff at reception, which was a shame as everything else was so lovely. At least it didn't put us off and we will come back again.
Comfortable bed, great views of the sea and sunsets. Good choice of breakfast with friendly staff.
Needs a makeover to fix damp patches, decor was quite shabby and tired looking. Given its location this would really up its image.
The staff were friendly, efficient and very kind. (We're not a "mature couple" but the review proforma doesn't give the option of elderly mother and slightly less elderly daughter). We enjoyed our 2 night stay so much, we're going back for 1-week visit.
