Score from 112 reviews Very good
Friendly and helpful staff. Room was very nice.
Off the high street, can be noise on weekends. No wifi in upper room.
room not very clean
in general, superb.
tap on sink, toilet cistern both falling off, shower cubicle too small.
Bathroom very spacious. Menu very good lots of choices. Bed very comfortable. Parking was plentiful and safe.
old world charm. the staff were friendly and more than happy to help. food was very good - generous breakfast. tidy and clean.
I found the rooms too hot for me - others would be pleased it was warm. no lift so a lot of stairs to carry bags up.
price, and all the little extras that used to be standard, but arent anymore
noisy birds nesting in attic
Restaurant service slow
The hotel is very well located in Bala. The single rooms are very cheap, only marginally more than a bed in a hostel in Bala. The staff are helpful, and there is a free car-park on site (although it is small), plus free on-street parking close-by. The shower in the room was excellent - powerful and hot.
The bed in my room (301) was incredibly uncomfortable, and i slept poorly each night because of this. Plus the single room had a toilet actually in the bedroom - not just en-suite, but physically in the same room as the bed, which isn't very hygenic. Ultimately, you get what you pay for, and whilst this hotel is cheap in comparison to others in Bala, it is cheap for a reason.
very good location in village, excellant base for sight seeing area.vey comfortable clean bed.nice shower liked the chocolate placed on pillow and biscuits replaced daily for tea ,coffee.normally pay the amount we payed for hotels inferior to this so was pleasantly surprised for a better quality accommodation
had aroom on front so was abit noisy when local pubs turned out till quite late obviously hotel not at fault.
Excellent location for exploring north and mid Wales. Olde Worlde decor, nice ensuite room with decent facilities. Good choice of food available all day. Very large breakfast available for the B&Bers.
Car parking rather cramped. Gets very busy at peak times regarding food and only one or two staff at the bar - booking is probably advisable. The worst thing was a restaurant opposite (the old court house) opening till 3am so after pubs close a lot of people head to the restaurant and stand on the street right outside making a lot of noise until 3.30 - 4am, this happened on Saturday and Sunday night and I was kept awake both nights even with ear plugs! I would think twice about using this hotel again for that reason.
Good central location, handy parking round the back, nice big room.
Very overpriced room, expensive drinks, never enough staff on behind the bar, closed early seeing as it was a pub hotel, poor quality of food.
The noise from people outside until the early hours
-Excellent staff -Very good breakfast
-Parking spots were limited -Too noisy area
Good size room and ensuite. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and service was good.
Valance on bed was extremely grubby and stained. Noise of heels banging around and tables and chairs being moved downstairs woke us up late at night.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming to our party, we had a family room and an executive room, the main difference being that the executive room was huge. Food was good, lots to do in the area. Would happily stay there again.
No fault of the hotel, but the Main Street outside got a bit noisy at night at the weekend. If you're sensitive about that sort of thing, suggest you ask for a room at the back. Fine midweek.
Loved the staff..they were friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Loved it's quaint style and relaxing atmosphere
The cleanliness really let it down..was rubbish in the drawers and wardrobe and the divan sheets had stains on them..! The bathroom was spotless though
Very welcoming ,spacious reception area,v. Big lounge with TV ,furniture & decor thru'out the hotel needless to say ,all the staff ,with smiling faces ,the breakfast -excellent,made to order from the menu.car park ink space ,a god send ! I would like to come with my grown up children ,again .
Aloft /elevator would make it perfect !
No towel rail in the single room for wet towel after showering
Comfy bed. Spacious bathroom. Good food. Friendly atmosphere.
Good breakfast and meal deal in the bar. Lent us towels for white water rafting!
Single rooms had toilet in the bedroom open plan.
Everything was first class, from the room to the breakfast.
Friendly staff, good real ale, excellent breakfast. Got the reduced deal of £25, which was a steal - worth much more.
Nice big room - it was a family room Friendly staff Good wifi It's a Pub!!! Great shower
The evening meal took a long time
Beds were good, new matrasses, we finally could have a good nights rest (All other hotels we slept during our holiday in Wales had old worn matrasses). Shower was excellent, real power shower!! Food in restaurant/bar offers a good affordable menu, lots of choices. Breakfast ok, staff friendly
Breakfast only possible until 9hr, But this was not an exception in Wales. However we got a breakfast showing up at 9.10 so we can't really complain!!!
Friendly and helpful staff, good value for money. Would stay there again if i'm in the area.
Nothing all good
