Everything - this is a dispicable hotel - you should remove this from your list of hotels offered. The hotel smells horrible and the rooms are disgusting. We left as soon as possible

We were very disappointed with our stay as there was no hot water in the morning when we wanted a shower . We phoned down to ask the reception , who said we had to put on a switch which was not the case and as I was standing naked ready to have a shower I couldnt be bothered to make another call and gave up. The reception were not helpful at all and when we complained the lady just couldnt give a toss. She could only offer us a bottle of wine and we wanted to speak to the manager . we were told the manager would ring our mobile but they never did. We expected a small reduction for the complete inconvenience as we both expect to be able to have a hot shower in the hotel. We never heard from the manager or received the wine ...I would like to have a letter of explanation for this and a refund of some sort. I think that this is the least we can expect ,

I was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel was extremely hospitable and comfortable, after reading some of the reviews on the booking site I was rather apprehensive. I found the reception staff to be welcoming and friendly. The location is great being only a 5 minute walk to the metro. For what paid I got a lot more than I expected a comfortable room, welcoming staff with a great traditional English breakfast. I would recommend this to the price conscious consumer who is looking for value for money without compromising your standards. This is a hidden gem. Osbourne road itself is very busy

The staff are very friendly. The room was big, clean and had everything you need in it. Good internet signal(free) Located among all the bars in Jesmond and a short distance from Newcastle City Centre. I had only booked for 1 night but decided to stay a full week as it was a bargain for the price

Price It's right above a bar, so don't expect to get a good night's sleep over the weekend.

only the location! On First impressions the hotel looks impressive from the outside and appears a good choice for the price quoted. Unfortunately my stay went from bad to worse for the two nights I stayed. I recieved a less than enthusiastic welcome as the reception staff were glued to the computer screen and wanted me dealt with and moved on as quickly as possible so they could get back to it. The decor now seemed a little shabby once you got inside and past the bright lights of the bar. I am used to budgeting & backpacking so i am not normally picky but the room was freezing and no hot water for a shower. After interupting the receptionist attention from the screen, I finally got the heating on in my room, but only for the first night. The next day and night it was off again, as was any hot water for a shower. On close inspection the room wasn't as clean as first impressions either, with a mildewed shower cubicle and dusty carpet which hadnt been properly hoovered in a long time. Most of the other guests are young/hen/stag groups who spend v little time in the hotel b4 heading straight to the bars. Being 50........and not heading into the bars - i stuck out like a sore thumb. Finally my room was on the ground floor as unable to access the stairs, which was right next to the bar and the toilets- guess who had very little sleep for the whole weekend ?? The saving grace was the v good bargain price and one member of staff who bucked the trend and was friendly and attentive. Having lived in the city and often wondered what it would be like inside - I now know and despite the price will choose another hotel for my next visit

The hotel is very run down and looks nothing like the photos on the web site. Initially my son was put in a room that had a whole in the wall with a piece of masking tape being the only thing stopping visibility between two rooms. The light in my bathroom didn't work, the carpets were very dirty and the shower didn't work properly. Although the staff did move my son to a 'better' room when I complained the whole experience was very disappointing and we will definitely not be staying there again!

Only good thing was the location - right in the heart of Jesmond. Also, elderly receptionist very nice. The hotel was dirty and very tired. Breakfast was more or less thrown at you and served in what is a very busy students bar at night.

Clean, comfortable room. Mr room was at the back and there was quite a bit of noise coming from the bar area. I think in future I would request a room at the front.

The free apple at the entrance. The coolest thing in the room was the tv, which, of course, did not work! It needs to be redecorated soon. The room was shabby and sort of neglected. I don't even understand how they have one star, let alone two.

Apart from the location I was totally shocked by the standard of this hotel Extremely noisy,Very shabby, extremely cheap fixtures fittings and soft furnishings. Broken window, broken tiles in the bathroom. Cheap ineffective electric shower which leaked over the bathroom floor. Cramped bedroom and bathroom. About the worst hotel I have stayed in and the least value for money 1 night £120 (I was expecting a little style or comfort). Love Newcastle

The receptionist on saturday 27th August was absolutaley lovely and so helpful. On the other hand the bathroom had mould growing round the taps and the seal, the curtains were dirty and the windows were loose so it was very noisy and the windows rattled in the wind.
