Food in the restaurant were delicious,
Disappointed with the pool - the water was very cold, even swimming has enabled us not to get warm . Strange that children under 14 years of age , could not take advantage of the Jacuzzi. In the bathroom - shower had very weak stream of water and you have to wait long for the water to be worm.
Very poor shower
Good food in restaurant was highlight of a brief but enjoyable stay.
Bed...2 singles pushed together to form a hammock!!...Shower didn't work. Breakfast was terrible.
staff very friendly and helpful. food was lovely. room was very spacious.
Hotel setting excellent Food excellent Room good Staff good
As a package for New Year's Eve,a few issues spoilt the event, Taken to basement room to view fireworks, not everyone could see them,no party poppers due to cleaning up issues, countdown to new year was in basement,no atmosphere, disco suddenly stopped without warning, surprised everyone....would we return, not on a new year package......
We liked everything about the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and freshly cooked to order. Our room overlooked the river which was a bonus.
the staff were excellent, the food was excellent, the room was large and extremely comfortable could not have wished for a better Christmas away from home.
We arrived on Xmas eve, after noon tea was served in the basement bar, the room was bit cold, & the tea was served later than advertised, but enjoyable. Evening meal was excellent. Christmas day good breakfast, mix feeling about lunch, I was disappointed with my food, I ordered rack of lamb, which was very fatty, a good chef would never have sent a meal like that. I did complained to the waitress & she said she would tell the chef. The girls were given box of gift wrap chocolate's, & we received diaries, which I thought was very nice.in the evening there was a quiz night, followed by buffet which was very enjoyable. Boxing day was the most disappointing day, pack lunch was provided with the choice of your trip, I wasn't impressed with lunch, factory packed sandwich, plain boring crisps, & soggy cheap piece of chocolate bar. In the evening, there was a race night, which was fun and it raised some money for a charity. The buffet was served, we had to wait for half an hour for the queue to subside, but it wasn't worth the wait, the buffet consists of spare ribs, chilli con carne, cold pizza & quiche slices, that is cheapest food in any body's dictionary, how ever my wife did point out that, cold meat & the salads were worth mentioning. Overall we enjoyed the stay, met some interesting people, & enjoyed the fast flowing river, And not forgetting the health club I managed to fit in.finally not forgetting the hard working & very pleasant staff.
Poor lights in the bedroom, no extractor fan, no toilet brush, cold basement bar.
Excellent spa, great pool, steam room etc. Very reasonable prices beauty treatments Lovely location on the the river ashame about the busy road, however makes it east to get around the lakes.
Everything, couldn't fault anything.
comfort of hotel friendly staff very good restaurant - food is absolutely delicious and reasonably priced for the quality (french chef).
We loved the leisure facilities and the room was gorgeous!!!!

The staff were lovely! Food was amazing and we just had a lovely time!
The room was far too hot! We turned the radiator off but it was still boiling! Also we stayed in a room with a shared balcony! I think this should be sectioned off better. The people in the next room kept walking onto our balcony area and looking in through our window, which I found uncomfortable.
Sam (front of house) is amazing - Fantastic customer services skills ! Breakfasts were extremely good and the staff that are working in that Restruant are excellent.
Rude women working in the leisure area
Location is good. Staff were friendly. Food from Bar was okay but having second night dinner close to hotel called The Swan, ahhh gorgeous the food... worththe money... definitely go eat there on your visit.
Beds were very very uncomfortable. Told the receptionist but they only put extra duvet on the matress...
Was upgraded to a fabulous room as it was my partners birthday Had a balcony with wonderful view of the river. Staff very nice and helpful
Not a lot close by of walkable distance So had to drive to cartmel to visit country pubs shops etc.
Very easy to find just ofnosif the A590 would be a lovely place to stay in summer with being on the river. Staff all very good at looking after guests and making peoples stay extra enjoyable. Good area with many local attractions.
The only downside was on the first day on arrival the grill and bar had problems with the heating and it was cold and uncomfortable. Apparently some one had upset the programmer.
The service was very good. The pool and changing room were of good size. The breakfast was excellent - good choice and very tasty. Lovely surroundings and well placed to visit many areas of interest.
The hotel is advertised as nearly all rooms having a view of the river. We were one of the "nearly" ones. We had a view of an upward sloping roof. I would state that room 308 is one to be avoided.
My wife and I love the Lake District and stay at least 4 times per year we would definitely book the white water hotel again
There were no negatives
Loved the location, and the room was wonderful with four poster bed and a view of the torrid river. A really beautiful spot, would thoroughly recommend.
The welcome on arrival was a little low key and stilted, but the staff elsewhere more than made up for that. The a la carte dinner was a little pricey and inflexible, but there was a more informal dining option.
location, breakfast was great
room was just a little dated as was the hotel but charming
