As several reviewers have said the hotel is dull and tired looking and the rooms are small. However, the beds are comfortable, the en suite bathrooms in full working order and the breakfasts excellent. If you arrive by train as we did the location right next to both the train and bus station is perfect. At only £27 for bed and breakfast in a single room it has to be the best value in Penzance. I would certainly use it again. Ok, so we were four blokes away for a boozy weekend, and if we had been with our wives we would have paid a bit more for something better. You pay your money and take your choice.

Whiteways was very good value for money, the perect location as we travelled by train and it was only 2 mins from the station,it was also within easy walking distance of shops,bars,resturants and the habour. The short train journey to St Ives was lovely as it went right along the coast.The landlady was very friendly and helpful,the breakfast was first class and the bed was really comfortable. For us it was the perfect place for a long weekend.

Nice stay at this friendly traditional b&B. Not the top end in luxury, but pleasant staff, clean room and a very good breakfast.

My only criticism was that the shower temperature was extremely difficult to regulate.

Location is excellent and the lady is really helpful. Except the double bed in the room is two single bed putting together.

The location ,close to the train station and reasonably close to the ferry port. At 29 GBP it was acceptable for just staying the night to catch the ferry in the morning. Room and Bath was clean, no probs.

Everything was a bit run down. upgradings and modifications were done in DIY style. Very poor mattresses. The single room was pretty small but acceptable.Acceptable for 1 night, but would not recommend it for longer stays.

Close to bus and railway, very friendly helpful landlady

It was ideally situated for the rail and ferry terminals, it was reasonably priced, the bedroom was clean and adequately furnished for our short stay. The food was good and we had two very comfortable stays.

It was difficult to find as the address East Terrace does not appear on any maps.

It was ok for one night but a bit shabby and wouldn't have like to stay for a period of time.

There was no way of contacting the owners out of hours and the burglar alarm was faulty and beeping loudly on the landing. Felt wierd that no contact number was left for us. The whole place smelled of very old chip fat.

Very near to Penzance Station and Buses, so convenient for outings around West Penwith and the Isles of Scilly

Rather noisy at night, as on main road.
