We went to celebrate my 60th Birthday. We had been for meals before but never to stay. We had an enjoyable weekend with some good company and excellent food. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Well done Whitley Hall. We didn't enjoy guest making a noise and swearing outside the front of the hotel, which happened to be directly under our bedroom window. They were from the wedding which had taken place at Whitley Hall in the afternoon. We had to wait for staff to make up twin beds. It had only be made up for a single person. Hence there was only one set of toiletries in the bathroom.

Beautiful property and grounds. Rooms are decorated in a lovely country house style and very comfortable with tea making facilities. Bedding and bed of good quality linens and towels. Very comfortable and clean, but noisy on the night that we stayed. A wedding party was in progress and had booked up most of the rooms. The people upstairs had a noisy kid running around and because the property is very old, the floorboards were very noisy and you could hear the upstairs occupants walking around.

Very pleasant yet professional staff who were genuinely concerned for the well-being of guests and formed an effective team, while each brought their own individualism into the mix. The ambience of comfortable armchairs and real fires in the public areas in a lovely 17th century building and the excellent food in the restaurant and at breakfast.

The rooms were lovely and clean. Excelelent service at breakfast. Little bit noisy as a wedding was going on and children were running through the bar area chasing each other, thought that should have beeb stopped by staff.

A stunning hotel with beautiful rooms, thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will certainly stay again As a lone business traveller who prefers to eat in my room, room service menu was extremely limited

It is not the first time I was at Whitley. I like the postion (even if mobile gprs network is not working very well) the hotel's room and interior, the staff and the food. A drink at the bar before dining iis very relaxing. The view of the coutryside in the morning, even if it is raining is fantastic. Gprs is not cover very well, phone call or blackberry emailing may be difficult but the hotel and the setting are perfect
