We had the room above the snooker table and it was a bit noisy until everyone went to bed - not a big deal as it wasn't late.

its was snowing when arrived we were in the garden room and the heater wasn't on i don't think they thought we would turn up it took along time for the room to heat up

Location - hidden away from the main road but close to pubs, restaurants and places of interest. Spacious rooms, great visitor lounge,food and the hot tub.

My room was clean and comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff. My breakfast was excellent-cooked to order-one of the best I have enjoyed for a long time!

The place was difficult to find- even my Sat. Nav. had trouble and I had to phone for instructions! Unfortunately there was no evening food available. WI-Fi didn't work for me.....

Difficult to find in the dark, and when I got down the drive it still wasn't clear where I needed to go.

OMG,where to start the room was huge and beautifully decorated.the owners were very friendly and gave us all the info we needed,the food was good and cooked to order.i went for my birthday and it was so quiet and relaxing.definitly reccomend

Very friendly and accommodating staff in this converted farm house. I'm more used to London hotels and this unsurpsisingly had a more rural and less "high end" feel about it but once past superfical first impressions the facilities were actually fantastic. This would easily have cost three times as much in London but it would not have been any more enjoyable. We had a full english every morning and the breakfast bar was well supplied so this was a good start to the day. The main delight however was "The Shoulder of Lamb" pub next door. 4 aa stars and in my opinion worth everyone and reason enough to stay at Whitton Lodge if it were not already ideal in its own right.

This is a family run business and if you're used to "professional" hotels some aspects were a little bit unusual and laid back. This is far from a complaint but it was a little bit unsettling at first when you can't find the reception desk or concierge etc. I mentioned the pub next door and its just as well it's there because the signage ot the lodge was woefull and combined with the limits of our aged Sat Nav we would never have found the place if the staff at the shoulder had not been able to supply directions

The owners were friendly, inviting and the location was lovely. The room was excellent, couldn't ask for more

All round a good place to stay , friendly staff, nice decor and good facilities such as sauna and billiard table,some of the large chains could learn from this hotel. But not without its faults.

We stayed in garden room 10, on a freezing night in November, there is only a small electric heater in the room and even smaller heater in the shower room even though we had prebooked, the heaters were not put on until our arrival so very cold for the first few hours, the shower room remained tepid. The shower is only 7kw the cheapest you can buy, just about gave a warm shower. Considering the overall quality "feel" of the place I do not understand why they have skimped on these items.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room 1 was very large, comfortable, with large bath and very clean. Breakfast ok, enjoyed stay.

Not the easiest to find, especially at night. Walls very thin can hear other guests. Breakfast quite early (8am last order) would have preferred a bit more of a lie in !!!
