Location was very close to the plant. Great Breakfast. Economical, but slightly on the high price.
No water pressure in the shower
The suroundings were excellent, the breakfast one of the best I've ever encounted The (one?) staff was cheerful and very helpful. Will visit again when weather is better.
The rooms do not have phone facilities. We could not stop the extractor fan in the shower room .(tried everything),no remote for the tele.Only way to contact staff (for remedy) appeared to be via mobile phone
Friendly welcome and service. Comfortable and warm room with lovely views.
Had difficulty locating lodge as sat nav took us round the back. Eating out in the evening required a car journey, so no bottle of wine with the meal !!
Always a pleasure to stay here, with Kim making sure everything is alright. Would recommend to absolutely anyone.
There's nothing not to like.
We stayed at Whitton Lodge as a treat for my 50th birthday. We were greeted by Kim on arrival who made us more than welcome as soon as we stepped through the door. Our room was excellent with a fantastic view, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast the following morning was delicious. It was a shame we only had one night in this B & B as we felt like we had stayed with old friends when we left.
signage, but this is being sorted
We liked everything, Kim made us feel like we were at home and my wife and I just relaxed and enjoyed our time off work together, thank you Kim and John.
Everything was really good from the outdoor hot tub to the cooked breakfast & a really lovely host .
Very friendly staff and lovely surroundings. Will definitely be staying again
The room was really nice. Kim the owner was lovely, she really made us welcome. Little touches like bottled water & nice biscuits made it extra special.
Being in the disabled suite, we especially did'nt like the disabled bathroom.
Even though we only stayed for one night everything was excellent and had a relaxed welcoming feel to it. Lovely spacious rooms with plenty of light and all that was necessary for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was excellent in nice surroundings served by friendly staff. Will be recommending to family and friends :-)
There was nothing to dislike. Great all round.
Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. We would have no hesitation recommending to friends or staying there again.
We were made to feel very welcome nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was fabulous, good quality and plenty of it to start your day on. Pity we only stayed one night and didnt take advantage of snooker table and gym.
The only negative i found was the small television in bedroom as i wanted to watch tele in bed it was very hard to see, but a large screen t.v. was available in lounge.
Very friendly, good food, comfortable bed, good size double room.
I know the Matlock, Chesterfield and Tansley area quite well. Whitton Lodge would benefit from more detailed directions from Alfreton / Tansley and the M1 Jct. 28. Only 'complaint'. Probably o.k. IF one has a Satnav. p.s. We left 2 jackets in Room 1.
A perfect close access point for M1 (North or South). We were warmly welcomed into a large, warm, clean and comfortable en-suite room. Bags of hot water in the shower/bath. We were given a really tasty, multi-choice breakfast with a great variety of buffet juices, cereals and fruit to start. In a quiet rural location, this was a great find !
very friendly and welcoming, good breakfast and comfy bed.
asked for heating to go on to warm the room, no hot water throughout stay as system was 'turned off'.
Lovely staff, very welcoming.
I have no faults
Ideal for visiting Hardwick Hall which is only about 1mile away but also easy to reach Chatsworth House. Two good pubs recommended by Kim for food. Magnificent full English breakfasts
The signage wasn't very good at all when approaching from the south - apparently the council have vetoed attempts to improve it. Shouldn't they be encouraging local business?!!! The tips of the snooker cues needed replacing, otherwise I'm sure I could have scored a 147
everything was lovely the room it was quite breakfast was really good had a lovely stay
thought there was a pool there wasnt the hot tub wasnt working either was the sauna we were disapointed as we brought our swim wear and was really looking forward to the hot tubprahaps it should be made clear if there not in use
The bed was very comfortable, the curtains were lined with a black-out material ensuring a good nights sleep and the breakfast was excellent.
The room description stated that the room featured a double ended bath and was suitable for guests with reduced mobility. I specifically opted for this room as it stated that it had a bath, but when we checked in it only had a shower in the bathroom. Furthermore, the shower had a large step to get into it, the shower doors did not open widely and there was nothing to hold onto in the shower - so not at all suitable for guests unsteady on their feet! Also, no matter what temperature the shower dial was set to, the water came out at only one temperature which was REALLY REALLY hot. This was fine for me, but my partner couldn't stand it and you certainly couldn't use it for young children!
Friendliness, clean, comfortable. Hot Tub. Space. Billy Goats, Breakfast choices, safe parking, I could go on forever, felt so relaxed.
Size of room
Bathroom tiles coming up and black mould showing in corners. Whoever laid the tiles etc was not a professional.
fresh hot breakfast and accomadated for my veggie partner! lovely large room, room number 1, a hot tub that was hot. full size pool table. Was a really lovely which id definitely go back to. Pub on the corner to!
Just the noise of a flushing toilet from next door and slamming fire door downstairs but just minor irritants.
Snooker table in games area for guests use very friendly host .
