beds great. staff courteous and friendly. nowhere else like it nearby.
Friendly staff, fabulous location, quiet room and a leisurely breakfast with prompt service . Asked for more coffee and milk in the room and it was with us within 5 minutes
Its a little bit far from Durham
I love everything about this hotel! From the beginning to the very last second of my stay.
Very big cobwebs in room and bathroom. Window jammed shut (which we did report so hopefully it opens now).Fan in bathroom didn't work.
Beautiful deer park.Lovely grounds.Stylish decor.Friendly helpful staff.
The location, deer park and wild-life all added up to make a memorable stay.
On arrival our room was far to hot, even after opening the window and asking for a fan the room just wouldn't cool down which ment a bad night sleep. The shower we could only use on cold if we put on hot it only dripped out so this meant we couldn't have a proper shower. The staff seemed over worked but this may have been due to the hotel being busier than expected with people coming to see the deers and having a meal because the weather was so nice.
We loved this hotel (not the room), the surroundings are beautiful, very friendly staff, peaceful and lovely being able to go in and feed the deers. We had a lovely breakfast and afternoon tea in lovely surroundings.
Too short a stay to comment.
Surrounding park with deer a bonus to a lovely building and setting.
Poor WiFi and shower in the room I was allocated. Bathroom very cold!
Excellent location in a quiet rural setting. Good food in the evening and for breakfast. Would stay again.
All good nothing negative
Room was very comfortable and clean with fluffy towels ! Evening dinner was excellent, good quality, generous portions and good service. Would certainly stay again.
The only very slight criticism is it would have been nice to have spa facilities
Our recent stay at Whitworth Hall was faultless! We will definitely be returning!
The WiFi was hit and miss, but the receptionist did her best to improve it.
The four poster was lovely and comfortable and the room was nice and warm.
Every time you wanted a drink from the bar you had to go to reception for them to get a member of staff however they were their very quickly to serve you
Lovely hotel very clean the staff were extremely polite & helpful. I booked the stay for my partners 40th birthday, I would definitely recommend this hotel.
The bread used for toast was like cardboard with no taste.
We attended a wedding lunch and decided to combine this with a overnight stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The wedding lunch was very good and the accommodation comfortable. The grounds are outstanding.
Bathroom decor old fashioned. Missing knobs
Friendly welcoming staff
Nothing to grumble about
Quiet setting. No visible street lights from our bedroom window. Deer fascinating. Room excellent.
alittle bit isolated
We had a noise problem with a wedding and the manager moved us straight away and couldn't apologise enough and receptionist was really helpfull
Car park some distance from reception, not a major problem.
Wonderful setting with deer park at front, what a sight when being fed in morning. safe parking, friendly staff, would return' no problems.
Do like the luxuries of a leisure centre,so missed that one.
To arrive in the dark with deers eyes reflecting the headlights was unique. Breakfast peering out into the deer park was a tranquil experience. Great location, proffessional staff, perfect meals at a good price. Love to go back for pleasure this was a business stay
Being overcharged in the restaurant. Not being able to open the windows in our room. Became quite stuffy Lack of atmosphere in the lounge area
The Deer Park The dinner, excellent. Big room
Food, Ambiance, Deer Park, Bobby Shanto Column
Beautiful setting. Chosen in the knowledge that everything would be a bit old-fashioned: don't expect sleek and modern in a Grade II listed building.
Noisy Bar expensive Cold corridors (heating off)
Comfortable beds Tea-making facilities Breakfast
Reception is a bit cramped and could do with redesigning to make it more welcoming.
The deer park and the way it is cared for. The building itself is lovely and the furnishing is just right. We did not dine but the breakfast was excellent.
Location, Deer, friendly staff
