A very pleasant stay. Food was particularly good and we hope to come again. Our main purpose was to visit Chatsworth and Whitworth Park was a much better location than Matlock. We missed the Hotel as we came into Darley Dale as the signage and Google map were inaccurate. We were looking for the Whitworth Park Hotel but the word hotel is not on your sinage

I stayed with my two teenage sons,in a twin room which was clean warm and spacious, food excellent and well presented. Wifi kept my 13yr old entertained and the large flat screen tv in the room my 16yr old happy. There is a beautiful park at the rear of the hotel and steam trains run regularly from the small station, Sunday lunch was absolutely superb and i would recommend the hotel to anyone.

Received a warm welcome and shown to our room. Room was large and bed was comfortable. Evening meal was excellent and prices were very reasonable for both food and drink. Entertainment on the Friday night was perfect fome but not everybodies cup of tea. I would use this hotel again bad would recommend to everyone. Only minor complaint was the pillows were to soft but I've yet to go away anywhere and find a bed that's perfect.

We had a fantastic room overlooking the park. The room was a very generous size and comfortable. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. We had dinner there one night and it was excellent. The food was well presented, good quality and perfectly seasoned. Eating in the oak panelled diningroom was a pleasure. Despite there being a bar, the hotel was not noisy at all and we had a most enjoyable stay. I would certainly stay there again and recommend it to others.

Checking in was quick and easy, our room was the biggest hotel room we have ever stayed in and had everything in it we needed,it looked out over the park and was warm and comfortable. The breakfast menu had good choices so did the evening menu ,both were very tasty and hot,the morning and evening staff were both friendly and efficient. The room was cleaned each day and the towels were white and fluffy,a nice touch was the chocolates left on our tea tray every day. there must have been a problem with the plumbing one night as loud banging which sounded like water pipes woke us .

Comfortable if a little shabby. Clean enough. Friendly staff. Free wifi. Expensive for what it is - main road, rather tired decor, needs a good update. "Rooms above a pub" feeling to it, with quite a lot of sound coming up from bar downstairs. Would not call it a luxury room - reasonable size, but no more than that. Food was ok though steak was medium/well when medium/rare asked for and eggs at breakfast was also rather well done. Not bad enough to complain though.

Very relaxed environment. The man behind the bar was the man who showed me to my room and then who served me drinks at gone 11pm. A nice tight run ship and an excellent, excellent breakfast with very friendly and efficient staff serving on. You've got to have the black pudding. It's fresh and local by the looks of things. Honestly, a perfect place to stop. It's on the main A6 so there is a little road noise if your room is on the front, as mine was but I much prefer that cos you see what's going past and what's going on outside from your elevated position on the first floor!.

“Great location for a quiet relaxing break. Stayed in the penthouse suite which was very comfortable and spotless. Lovely views of the surrounding countryside. The hall is ideally located, just a short walk from the town which had plenty of places to eat. Good atmosphere in Bakewell and found the locals very friendly. We had the perfect weekend and will definately return next year.” David, Solihull |
