Earliest breakfast Tim was 8.00am I had to leave so didn't gave breakfast, would be good if it started a little earlier personally.
The room was brilliant (Room 1). At a good price with breakfast included. Nice park behind the hotel with play areas for kids. Hotel located perfectly for access to Matlock baths by car.
My partner noticed a strange smell ( didn't want to own up to the fact that I just let 1 rip, so I said it was just an old building kind of smell !!!!!! ) I have made this up as there isn't anything of note to complain about.
Landlord was a Chelsea fan!
Great location & plenty of free parking Excellent menu and beautifully cooked food Room (Double Delux) was lovely with plenty of storage. Staff very helpful & friendly.
Could benefit from a bath mat to place in the bath when using the shower
The welcome was great. The room clean large warm and comfortable. The food was good and well presented.
The food in the restaurant was excellent, fabulous and we want more right now!!!! The hotel is a beautiful old building and kept superbly. We would highly recommend it to everyone
We chose this place as it was close to my in-laws, we were very pleased with everything, room, shower facilities, tea and coffee facilities and the breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend as excellent value for money
The room was great, large and warm.
Staircase decor, carpets could all do with an overhaul.
Everything is exceptional
Staff Food Clean and spacious room Excellent value
Excellent location, really friendly staff. Clean room and the food is superb. Will be using Barringtons again
I loved the spacious rooms which had character, unlike travel lodges etc. Tea, coffee etc in the room was plentiful and good variety of herbal teas.
Room, friendly bar with log fire, food.
Posh for less
Its just a buisness (not warming)
Large spacious room. Good value options for evening meals. Especially liked the fact that the fan in the bathroom went off when you turned out the light...good if you happen to get up in middle of night...at least it doesn't go on & on!
breakfast size wise was good but no choice of healthier options..like no low fat spread or yoghurt etc
The breakfast was very good, eat as much as you like.
Lovely room, very comfortable. Very pleasant surrounding.
The evening menu could have more selection.
This hotel is very good value for money. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the pub and rooms have clearly been refurbished recently and are clean and modern with beautiful windows. Dinner was lovely and very reasonably priced. We had a very enjoyable evening. Breakfast was also very good, cooked to order and very punctual. There was unlimited fresh coffee and juice to enjoy.
The hotel is situated on a junction of a main road. The hotel has maintained the original windows with a sliding inner window do although very warm and not drafty but noisy and I wouldn't enjoy staying there in the summer when you need the windows open. The carpark is small and not marked so it is a bit of a free for all with everyone badly parked. There would be room for more cars if it was marked. We managed to squeeze in though so no problem. Overall would still stay here again and would recommend to friends so not big problems
Room 3 Headboard bangs and squeaks with every movement.
Handy on the A6, warm, very big comfy bedroom, excellent facilities and big windows and bathroom. food excellent and good atmosphere. Would go again.
The drinks are expensive, coors was £4.20 a pint and no good if you want early night as its a bar/restaurant below.
This is an excellent place to stay. The food is lovely and the staff extremely helpful. I will definitely be returning.
Log fire in the bar. good selection of food for breakfast. Lovely inexpensive evening meal. Very large bedroom overlooking the front, with large window.
Although the rest of the hotel was warm, our room was very cold, which made the room feel un-welcoming. Which was a shame. I was told the cleaners had turned down the thermostat outside the bedrooms. This was put right, but it took along time to warm up the room.
The breakfast.! Poor quality ingredients
Compliments to the chef as the food both at breakfast & evening meal was superb. Chose this hotel as it was close to Darley Dale station for our Sunday lunch on the train.
