The breakfast.! Poor quality ingredients
Compliments to the chef as the food both at breakfast & evening meal was superb. Chose this hotel as it was close to Darley Dale station for our Sunday lunch on the train.
The menu and food were excellent, as was the breakfast.
While the rooms were ok, it could do with decorating.
Good sized room with comfortable bed. Pleasant staff and very nice breakfast.
Bathroom requires updating.
Staff were polite and helpful Room was lovely Meals were very good
Some dust under the bed
Location, appearance of building, the staff on the evening shift were friendly, polite and very professional.
The Waitress serving breakfast possibly does not like mornings, a little grumpy.
spacious room, comfortable bed, large TV, free wifi, pleasant and friendly staff, value for money, lovely breakfast
Parking was difficult, small area. Final check on bathroom cleanliness needed.
Room nice view a bit rubbish shower didn't work properly thought place was a bit scruffy very tired sticky tables but breakfast fab
Hotel and place
The room was large and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. Position was excellent for attractions. We dined in the hotel every night as the food was so good. Breakfast was to order and delicious.
Most of it was very good, nothing was too much trouble. The room was lovely and large with everything we needed, very comfortable.
Old historical building but I love history so I was right at home.
The window seat in our bedroom was lovely for relaxing after a long day out. The breakfast was first class and the couple of meals that we had in the restaurant during our stay were very good.
Drinks from the bar were very pricey.
The rooms were clean and the double bed was very comfy and cozy. The Big Breakfast (included in the price) was the best breakfast I have had in a long time! Staff very friendly and helpful.
The food was Excellant a good menu , fresh produce and good choice. Staff very efficient and helpful.
Parking , not that many parking spaces.
very good food very helpful staff and very comfortable place to stay
Room was spacious and the staff were lovely. Food was very good, particularly breakfast. All in all, decent value for money.
Room was a little cold and the radiator needed bleeding. Most hotels have better than basic TVs selection,so a bigger sky package would be advisable. The duvet had a few dodgy stains on it,which we only noticed on the morning of departure. Shower was poor.
Basic, but comfortable rooms. Food was of a good standard.
No real reception area or facilities, you had to hover at the end of the bar to speak to a member of staff.
The staff were very friendly and polite. The breakfast was excellent. Bathroom lovely and cosy when you get out of the shower.
Coming in at night we had to pass the pub and it was mainly men and was a bit intimidating. Noisy in the room from these men.
spacious, comfortable room with good coffee and biscuits,+ nice toiletries, lots of hot water, delicious breakfasts, very good dinner
Friendly helpful staff, good food, beautiful room & ensuite, comfortable beds.
Doors needed a lick of paint & landing carpet a clean & storage for ironing board& put me up bed.
Elegantly decorated guest rooms, a warm and inviting pub, a wood-paneled breakfast room with a fabulous, cooked-to-order breakfast menu top the list of superlatives for Barringtons. Historic inns and hotels can sometimes look and feel a bit tired, Barringtons is fresh, clean and bright. The staff was friendly and seemed devoted to making our overnight stay unforgettably wonderful!
lovely room and pleasant, friendly staff
We arrived about midday and were delighted that our room was ready as we were on our way to a wedding. The room was huge and extremely comfortable. There was a good choice of breakfast and the food was excellent. The web page told us to expect lound music on a friday night until midnight - we arrived back just after eleven and all was quiet. Perfect.
Having to leave.
If you like space then ask for a family room, this is massive and overlooks Whitworth park.Breakfasts are well, the best especially the black pudding. Do not think about going else were book the at Barringtons today.
In between Matlock and Bakewell, so if you have no car this could be a bit of a problem with catching buses especially in the evening as they finish quite early.
Excellent breakfasts and evening meals. Good value and excellent quality.
