Room lacked somewhere to hang clothes bar a hat stand
The "real" bathroom with shower was o.k. and clean. Nice atmosphere in the bar and fairly good food at the fancy restaurant.
Poor light, no place to leave your clothes, not even a hook for a coat. Bad mattress. Breakfast only from 9:30 to 11:00- as we left early we had some horrible croissants brought to the room in the evening before, but there was not even a small table and only one seat.
Excellent room and facilities (large TV, fridge, bath and separate shower, comfortable 4 poster bed, quiet rural location. Not sure about the on site bar/restaurant as I didn't use it - it looked nice and quirky, but expensive, and didn't warm to the owners/managers.
Breakfast. The only option is a tiny cooked menu, what I received was very ordinary and I cannot believe they employ a chef to produce this! No buffet/continental/help yourself. Truly the worst breakfast experience ever, rubbish end to excellent accommodation. A choice of The Sun or The Mail? Neither thanks. No WiFi in rooms - could be easily and fairly cheaply remedied.
All perfect - can't fault it!
That we didn't have longer!
Staff were very helpful and friendly Food was excellent - presentation and quality Good wine list selection Rooms had a good theme to all - all very clean and tidy and well presented Decor in the dining room is hilarious it's like Liberace on crack - love it! You want leopard, diamantes, hot tubs and women dressed 20 years too young for themselves stay here!
Champagne cocktails expensive (£11) and not very good... Flat! Room rates don't make sense. My friend had a small room to the right next to the boutique priced at £90 a night and we had the Moet & Chandon room which was roomy at £100 per night for a couple. No wifi in the rooms - major let down considering in middle of no where No tv/ had Sky didn't work so only 4 channels not what you expect when you're away. Good for a laugh wouldn't come again.... It's one of those 'boutique' hotels which thinks it's far more high end and trendy than it is.... Sorry - but the staff and food were fab!
Mine and partners first night away, had a lovely four poster bed and slept like an angel. Would recommend and stay again.
Restaurant very expensive
Great place and hotel! Excellent food and service!
nice big jacoozy, really big comfy bed. overall very luxurious. Staff are polite friendly and try there best to please u
Very unusual place, lots of space and detached rooms meant it was very quiet. Great dinner in the restaurant and superb breakfast. Most of the staff were exceptionally friendly
One member of staff was very abrupt and rude
Food Spacious accommodation Setting fine
Malfunctioning Shower, which made the room uninhabitable and facilities unavailable for approx 1 hour. Inadequate compensation for inconvenience. This is our second stay. Decor over glitzy
Food excellent. Shower room excellent, bed very comfy. Quiet location.
Bedroom a little cramped with no wardrobe space.
No mobile signal Poor or no wifi signal Menu expensive
Grounds Spa bath, champagne and chocs in room were lovely extras Staff very helpful and pleasant Food was amazing in restaurant
Nothing really, can't get very good mobile signal but in middle of nowhere it is to be expected at times.
Quiet rural location
Internet reception was terrible away from the bar which together with breakfast being served from 9.30 is not conducive to business use.
The room was so nice, amazing decor and really cozy.
Staff didnt know any local taxis or much information, ended up spending twice as much on a cab than we needed to.
Excellant room and facilities for couples in a beautiful surrounding , lovely bar and friendly staff .
Electricity supply to room was turned off before official check out time.
great management - innovative and exceptional rooms....
well kept secret
rooms quaint and interesting nicely decorated and furnished with different themes in each room very arty
food menu prices !food excellent though
Quiet location and friendly staff, was a lovely place to stay and would recommend
Nothing to not like
Great country hotel with everything you would expect from a traditional English hotel. Attention to detail and beautiful surroundings make this place special indeed. We had dinner there and the food was absolutely delicious.
nothing at all.
Food good (except for desert - a very cold solid creme brûlée). Restaurant decor a matter of taste: personally thought it was tacky.
Smallest hotel room we have ever stayed in: only one side of the bed reachable. Dark and not particularly clean. Not good value for money. Not an easy trip to the tunnel.
Location and management
Big telly. Wet room. Real Ale.
Full breakfast didn't start til 9.30am. Continental in room was an adequate substitute.
Food in restaurant was fantastic and staff were brilliant. Room was really fun.
Room was really warm even with window open. Wouldn't put me off going back though!
