Absolutely nothing, do not stay here you might as well sleep in your car and give the money to charity, at least then when you wake up after not getting any sleep you have got something to feel good about for the rest of the day....
Where to start... Firstly arriving at the hotel it had been cold so car park was like an ice rink, steps into hotel hadn't been salted at all so were very dangerous surely this could have been salted the local co op could do it... Then you had to put your luggage down to open both sliding doors which were ment to be electric, this will need two people as they have to be done together. Walked in to reception and got shouted at by bar/security/reception staff (who knows who they were) until we pleaded with them to let us have our rooms. Once room cards collected, had to use mobile phone torch to find my room as corridor lights didn't work. Once in room found out that the cleaning regime was nil as carpets, walls, bathroom everything really was unclean and dirty (have a shower after you wake up and bring your own towels) whilst having a shower as I pulled the shower curtain the whole rail come off the wall and hit me in the leg not good if that was a child! Now I get to the best bit sleep, as the other guests (all of the other guests) didn't work or go any where they stayed up all night chatting and with tv's on also coming out of rooms slamming doors. This did not stop all night/day. Is the hotel a refugee camp, wouldn't be a problem if you were told on entry and could decide yourself weather you want to sleep or not. And to finish there is a premier inn just over the road, stay there!!!!!!
Good proximity to Hotel from motorway.
This place needs a revamp! Fix up.
Location, close to motorway as we were stopping off to break a long journey
Hotel was cold and shabby. Food was totally disgusting. No staff in restaurant and food congealing under hot lights looked as if it had been there all day. Enquiries led to the discovery that staff would not eat there. Budget price and convenience to motorway would not tempt a return visit
Staff were helpful and had a Christmas party booked there so was convenient
Using hotel for asylum seekers so not really keeping the standard up to much. understand need to be housed but could do with a hotel upgrade for people who are paying £60 a night. Breakfast was not brilliant and coffee was instant and poor quality. Won't stay in a Britania hotel again. Wished I had read reviews before although was at a party so didn't really have an alternative choice
The bed was very comfortable and clean. Also, the staff were very helpful.
The shower - the taps were so old and stiff I could not turn them.
Close to the M6 as i set off early
A little cold in the bar area
The first room had had a smoker in it - despite it being non-smoking. There was a leak in the bathroom and the floor was soaking wet as was the carpet. The second room was better. Breakfast was poor value for seven pounds extra: floor had food from the night before, the table was messy from the night before, there was no sugar available until I asked, dirty and poor value. The decoration in the room was poor. Peeling wallpaper, cracked ceiling, soot marks over the lamps, black damp marks on the ceiling over the radiator. There was 50p charge for paying by card and you need ID to pay cash.
So upset by my experience can't find anything positive to say.
Receptionist rude and lazy Room extremely dirty Decor crude, shabby and in poor repair No response by Britannia to email of complaint Very poor value
Nice looking room, comfy bed. Cost me only £34 per night. Good value fo the money I've paid.
Poor noise isolation. Could hear my neighbours talking, flushing the toilet and etc.
Absolutely filthy, dirty carpets, dirty bathroom, dirty cups, hotel used as halfway house for immigrants ... My advice would be to stay elsewhere
That my family were probably the only paying guests. Suffice to say left in a hurry. Would advise anyone against using this hotel.
Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Relaxed atmosphere.
location more suited to car travellers.
Excellent reception staff, good parking, warm, quiet, good mattress. Adequate value for money.
Tired bathroom, cold tap so tightly turned off that my partner couldn't turn it on. Toilet flush poor, lime scale in toilet and everywhere there was water. Pillows thin and exhausted. Pool and jakusi not very inviting.
hairs in sink and room wasn't cleaned told staff and they didn't seemed bothered
The location and the price.
Single beds whenaef for a double. The cleanliness was not up to scratch - even in public areas. Curtains hanging off their track. Mould around the bath etc
The hotel is being used by the Home Office to accommodate a large number of asylum seekers. I found a thong in the bathroom. Toilet seat broken. Room in very poor state of decor.
I liked the fact it was really cheap in cost and great value for money.
The people in the next room were young lads they didn't get in until 2:30 am and they then talked and shouted all night through until we left at 09:00 am. Also around 03:30 some other young males were screaming in the corridor.
The room was very comfortable, quiet and clean.
New TV sets needed. Would like to have been informed the hotel is used by a lot of workmen and big family groups of foreign nationals.
location was great for me as I had an operation in Wrightington
room was a little bit tired
staff were a credit to the hotel. Value for money. Lovely room.
lack of wi fi
I arrived checked in went to my room the bed was dirty as did the whole room look and big brown stain on the carpet I walked back down to check out and ask for my money back which I couldn't get only put back in my account totally horrendous hotel
Nothing, sorry yes it was at least warm & Dry.
Shabby, carpets dirty, TV broken replaced by old one with no remote and broked switch. Place needs bringing up to 1990 's standards !! Chose not to take breakfast based on the state of the general decor ..
The whole place is tired and needs people who know what they are doing , the staff were pleasant enough, but why they are in the hospitality business baffles me. The outside area was like a big ash tray, not a good impression. The bedroom was not good, when we arrived my wife and I had to remake the bed, the bedding and duvet cover were probably fresh but had just been thrown on. The bathroom was dirty, the floor looked like it had not seen a brush or a mop for quite a while. I made a list of things that were not right about this place, too long to go into on this page . Suffice to say , we shall not be visiting any Brittania Hotels again. This is the second hotel in the chain we have visited and one can only assume that low standards are the companies policy.
