Dinner Toiletries Shower Room decor Reception and evening meal staff are excellent
Gap down the back of bed that pillows slide down Waking in the night with terrible back ache Lots of noise from other rooms until 2am at least Disgusting breakfast Rubbish breakfast waiter
the bed,the food and the staff,
a bit isolated for my liking, rear of building requires some tlc, cobwebs in room 18 and bath was only 3/4 size
Ground floor facilities
We had stayed before and loved everything about it. I cannot find a single thing to complain about. Always the place to stay in the Lakes for us.
Food Rooms Staff
The whole experience was great. We were made welcome from the outset. The staff were all very friendly. The hotel is lovely and the food spot on. Would definitely book again.
The only slight problem we had was that we could hear every movement of the people n the room above, as the old floorboards were noisy. To be expected in a building of age but still slightly annoying.
Food Bar selection & ambience Room full of character
Excellent food quality at restaurant. Nice landscape to explore within property.
Wifi access was poor ... only connected once throughout 3 night stay ...
Friendly staff. Excellent food and service. Rooms tastefully furnished with an abundance of tea coffee and complementory biscuits. Will stay again.

The friendliness of the staff and the meals!
Bar area and lounge was large and very comfortable with leather sofas and a great relaxed atmosphere.
Our room only had a tiny bathroom with a sloping ceiling and no shower as such. On our second morning our cooked breakfast order got missed and we waited 40 minutes for kippers and eggs benedict !!! Also our room was stuck right at the back of the hotel and you had to traipse down long corridors to the bar and dining room. We didn't eat in in the evening as everything on the menu was smoked ( from their own smokehouse ) which isn't to our taste and the food was vey expensive, about £25 -£30 per head.
Loved the hotel , really quiet and peaceful location with excellent scenery and walks if you like that kind of thing. The food was really nice but a little pricey in my opinion . Its also a bit far out from bowness unless u want To pay £8.50 each way in a taxi but that's only my personal opinion and not the hotels fault... The Breakfast and dinner menu has an excellent choice along with the bar ... I am Slightly disappointed tho to say the least as I booked a feature room for our anniversary which was accepted though booking.com then the very next day I recieved a call from the hotel saying they had double booked the feature room in error and if I still wanted to stay at the hotel they would offer me a classic room with lake view at a reduced price which was nice of them I suppose in the circumstances and I accepted their offer .. My lake view was a car park so not impressed as u can imagine but I didn't complain at the time as we didn't want it spoil out weekend so we let it go !!!
No air conditioning in room
The location and the food was excellent, although my husband said the black pudding and mushroom was dried up. We enjoyed visiting Bowness and the surrounding area.
Relaxed atmosphere Staff excellent
Having to travel to use the pool Bit pricey

Breakfast disappointing also lacking choice on serve yourself buffet. Lack of air conditioning and wifi.

The hall/stairs carpet
It's our 3rd visit and we love it. It's a lovely traditional inn but the rooms are modern and very tastefully decorated.
It's not a dislike really but when you look closely the decor is a bit 'tired' looking.
staff, the woods, parking, food.
small bathroom, height restriction over bath, two beds pushed together for a kingsize.
Location, facilities, restaurant. Travelling with friends from the USA who wanted to experience an old english inn in a country environment and the Wild Boar delivered on all fronts.
Welcoming staff good food
Lovely room and good service with the evening meal. Great to see dogs there too.
Heating was on full and when turned off made a loud banging noise due to pressure build up.
Hotel has great character. Fantastic setting and location. staff very friendly and helpful. Smoked steaks delicious!
The Wild Boar was situated just 3 miles outside the town of Windermere. The hotel is perfect. The rooms were spacious and romantic. The whole boar theme was well put. The restaurant specialized in smoked meats and the steak is something that can is definitely recommendable to everyone. The trail behind the hotel is a good hike as well. The service was spectacular. The ambiance, price, food and location were all perfect.
Everything the overnight stay was just perfect and the food fantastic
