Food Comfy room
The rooms were fantastic the food was fantastic and the ambiance was brilliant will definitely visit again soon.
Nothing to dislike
Breakfasts were very good and staff very attentive
Restaurant for evening meals was very expensive
The room was very comfortable - I especially liked the decor. It was a real treat to stay in such a sumpicious room. The food in the restaurant was the nicest we have ever tasted. No way would we ever dream of eating anywhere else. Staying in the Inn to eat is a must. The breakfast was just as impressive. Compliments to the chef. The service from all the staff was top notch & we have not one tiny gripe after our two nights stay. We will definitely be returning soon!!
We loved everything. Not one negative thing to mention.
Location, log fires, restaurant.
The bedroom was in need of an update.
All the she staff were very attentive and efficient. The room, with its four-poster bed, was lovely and the large bathroom well equipped and warm (wondered if the tiled floor had underfloor heating?).
The only downside was the noisy family wedding party which seemed to want to congregate and discuss meal timetables outside our bedroom early in the morning (the bride & groom had the room opposite ours).
We loved everything about the place - comfortable room, good food and really nice people. Would definitely go back.
all the staff we excellent. food was first class except some breakfasts. location is fine only a few miles from windermere. the room clean and the bed just how we like them. good hot water at all times.
not happy to see dogs allowed in the bedrooms. the bathroom let the wild boar down. we were in room 29.there was mould on the bottom of the curtain and around parts of the bath. also the towel rail in the bathroom was not on even though we requested it be fixed. the coaches parked right outside our window every day blocking the view . some breakfasts were very good, it depended on which chef was on.
The food and service was excellent - the best food I've had in a hotel.
The bathroom was 'jaded', the hot water supply wasn't at a constant pressure. It just needs some TLC.
Dinner Toiletries Shower Room decor Reception and evening meal staff are excellent
Gap down the back of bed that pillows slide down Waking in the night with terrible back ache Lots of noise from other rooms until 2am at least Disgusting breakfast Rubbish breakfast waiter
the bed,the food and the staff,
a bit isolated for my liking, rear of building requires some tlc, cobwebs in room 18 and bath was only 3/4 size
Ground floor facilities
We had stayed before and loved everything about it. I cannot find a single thing to complain about. Always the place to stay in the Lakes for us.
Food Rooms Staff
The whole experience was great. We were made welcome from the outset. The staff were all very friendly. The hotel is lovely and the food spot on. Would definitely book again.
The only slight problem we had was that we could hear every movement of the people n the room above, as the old floorboards were noisy. To be expected in a building of age but still slightly annoying.
Food Bar selection & ambience Room full of character
Excellent food quality at restaurant. Nice landscape to explore within property.
Wifi access was poor ... only connected once throughout 3 night stay ...
Friendly staff. Excellent food and service. Rooms tastefully furnished with an abundance of tea coffee and complementory biscuits. Will stay again.
Restaurant Staff service Relaxed atmosphere Room design
No spar facilities within hotel
The friendliness of the staff and the meals!
Bar area and lounge was large and very comfortable with leather sofas and a great relaxed atmosphere.
Our room only had a tiny bathroom with a sloping ceiling and no shower as such. On our second morning our cooked breakfast order got missed and we waited 40 minutes for kippers and eggs benedict !!! Also our room was stuck right at the back of the hotel and you had to traipse down long corridors to the bar and dining room. We didn't eat in in the evening as everything on the menu was smoked ( from their own smokehouse ) which isn't to our taste and the food was vey expensive, about £25 -£30 per head.
Loved the hotel , really quiet and peaceful location with excellent scenery and walks if you like that kind of thing. The food was really nice but a little pricey in my opinion . Its also a bit far out from bowness unless u want To pay £8.50 each way in a taxi but that's only my personal opinion and not the hotels fault... The Breakfast and dinner menu has an excellent choice along with the bar ... I am Slightly disappointed tho to say the least as I booked a feature room for our anniversary which was accepted though booking.com then the very next day I recieved a call from the hotel saying they had double booked the feature room in error and if I still wanted to stay at the hotel they would offer me a classic room with lake view at a reduced price which was nice of them I suppose in the circumstances and I accepted their offer .. My lake view was a car park so not impressed as u can imagine but I didn't complain at the time as we didn't want it spoil out weekend so we let it go !!!
No air conditioning in room
The location and the food was excellent, although my husband said the black pudding and mushroom was dried up. We enjoyed visiting Bowness and the surrounding area.
Relaxed atmosphere Staff excellent
Having to travel to use the pool Bit pricey
Evening meals very good. Location and surroundings very good. Pleasant staff. Would recommend.
Breakfast disappointing also lacking choice on serve yourself buffet. Lack of air conditioning and wifi.
