I loved this hotel, the rooms are so nice! Great decor ,amazingly comfy beds. The staff were very friendly. The food in the pub was great, we were seated in the comfy lounge with the dog, the staff are very helpful and made a fuss of out dog. I'll definately go back! X
We liked the friendly staff and the idyllic setting
Lack of lounge area following evening meals. Also requested to dine in the lounge rather than the dining room and we were sat on a huge table for eight when we wanted a romantic dinner for two!
The setting was lovely and cosy, the food delightful and the range of beverages was extensive. The room was very nice and I can't fault it.
The only thing I would of liked was the receptionist to remind me that my room included breakfast. I had booked the room months in advance and forgot, so I missed the breakfast believing it was room only.
Service, food, friendly,staff, comfortable, clean
We were placed in a room above the bar, could hear every conversation and door slam until around 12:30, would expect it in a travel lodge but not in a £150 a room country hotel
Very friendly and efficient staff. We had a very comfortable room and enjoyed some fantastic meals in the restaurant. The bar offers some excellent beers brewed on site and an amazing selection of single malts.
Great room, excellent staff
Beautiful place with loads of character. Room was lovely really individual. We both thought the place was fantastic and would definitely go again
We had lunch and dinner at the Boars Head and any comment less than excellent would be unfair. Like the quirkiness of the inn and its homely atmosphere Walks in the woods behind the inn were an unexpected benefit despite the weather,
Leaving on the Sunday
staff are very good with children very relaxing
The lovley relaxing and comforting feeling in the hotel and the staff were EXCELLENT!! Like home from home
One broken sofa hard to get out of in front of the fire in the bar area
We had a fantastic time rooms where lovely and food was fantastic
Food Comfy room
The rooms were fantastic the food was fantastic and the ambiance was brilliant will definitely visit again soon.
Nothing to dislike
Breakfasts were very good and staff very attentive
Restaurant for evening meals was very expensive
The room was very comfortable - I especially liked the decor. It was a real treat to stay in such a sumpicious room. The food in the restaurant was the nicest we have ever tasted. No way would we ever dream of eating anywhere else. Staying in the Inn to eat is a must. The breakfast was just as impressive. Compliments to the chef. The service from all the staff was top notch & we have not one tiny gripe after our two nights stay. We will definitely be returning soon!!
We loved everything. Not one negative thing to mention.
Location, log fires, restaurant.
The bedroom was in need of an update.
All the she staff were very attentive and efficient. The room, with its four-poster bed, was lovely and the large bathroom well equipped and warm (wondered if the tiled floor had underfloor heating?).
The only downside was the noisy family wedding party which seemed to want to congregate and discuss meal timetables outside our bedroom early in the morning (the bride & groom had the room opposite ours).
We loved everything about the place - comfortable room, good food and really nice people. Would definitely go back.
all the staff we excellent. food was first class except some breakfasts. location is fine only a few miles from windermere. the room clean and the bed just how we like them. good hot water at all times.
not happy to see dogs allowed in the bedrooms. the bathroom let the wild boar down. we were in room 29.there was mould on the bottom of the curtain and around parts of the bath. also the towel rail in the bathroom was not on even though we requested it be fixed. the coaches parked right outside our window every day blocking the view . some breakfasts were very good, it depended on which chef was on.
The food and service was excellent - the best food I've had in a hotel.
The bathroom was 'jaded', the hot water supply wasn't at a constant pressure. It just needs some TLC.
Dinner Toiletries Shower Room decor Reception and evening meal staff are excellent
Gap down the back of bed that pillows slide down Waking in the night with terrible back ache Lots of noise from other rooms until 2am at least Disgusting breakfast Rubbish breakfast waiter
the bed,the food and the staff,
a bit isolated for my liking, rear of building requires some tlc, cobwebs in room 18 and bath was only 3/4 size
Ground floor facilities
We had stayed before and loved everything about it. I cannot find a single thing to complain about. Always the place to stay in the Lakes for us.
