good location, in the centre! very near to the Old street Station
Geo location Cool personnel
Shower, i don't have hot water... Problem with my room pass (key) Bed is horrible Kitchen is destroy & really dirty
Simple to check in Manned 24 hours at reception Building secured by electronic keys Room was clean and tidy, fresh linen and towels albeit it was a basic room Cheap during out of term time Easy to get to from Old Street underground or Hoxton overground 10 mins walk to either station. Plenty of nightlife around and shops etc. Communal kitchens well equipped microwave, oven, toaster, kettle, iron and ironing board, fridges etc. Good quality wired internet connection in rooms Staff were friendly and helpful. Fairly comfy beds and decent nights sleep. Good if you want a cheap deal out of term time. Good alternative to staying in some small time B&B... its consistent with basic self-service accommodation.
Bathrooms are crazy small! Shower was like half a normal shower area. I was getting tangled in the curtain every time I showered. Internet is expensive. £20 for a week is a little steep for wired internet even if it is a good connection. Communal kitchen was a bomb site for most of the week. If they are accepting guests that are not students this should be checked to make sure its tidy. Outdoor courtyard was locked every time I tried to go out there. Even though the signs indicated it would be open.
- Cheap - Friendly staff - Good place to meet other single travelers
- No breakfast possibilities - Kitchen facilities not very clean - Only WiFi in the lounge - A litte too outside the middle of London - Not near the metro
Price=Excellent, great location, friendly and helpful staff. Hope to stay again in the future.
An extra pillow would have been nice, also a bigger sign on the front of the building. I walked past it 5 times trying to find it lol.
Very clean. Fresh towels once a week. Personnel spoke English and was very helpful. Kitchen with fridge. TV in kitchen and common room. Transponder keys and elevator, doors with openers for wheelchairs. Good location: Hoxton street with lots of small shops, Kingslake road with lots of Vietnamese take-out shops. From Hoxton St. with overground about 30 min. to city center. (Free WiFi in the Common room, but I didn't test that)
The pillow was very small and too soft. The curtains didn't really block the light in the morning, so sleeping-in was difficult. The kitchen has no equipment, so you need to bring your own pans and plates. The B block faces a children's playground, so during the day the little rascals might make a racket - but quiet during the night.
great value for money, excellent facilities for the price.
Tea and coffee supplied but no kettle
hope to use wifi in the room
own bathroom, clean and quiet.
checkout at 10, electrical outlets do not work for some power adapters (e.g. macbook charger without cable)
Great Value for London. Clean and looked after. WiFi in lounge.
Kitchen, fridge, even an iron! A lot of outlets in the room - useful. 5-minute walk to the Old Street station. Several bus stops around the hotel. Several 24/7 and late-working shops nearby. Inexpensive.
Weak/disappearing Wi-Fi in the room (probably completely unavailable in some rooms), paid wired Internet. If you're going to use the free Wi-Fi in the public area in the evening, be prepared that it's full of students with laptops and tablets. :) Tiny shower area in the bathroom, so the floor becomes wet, doesn't matter how carefully you wash.
- Good price - Quite close to tube stations - Cool area
- Shower was horrible - Wifi not available in rooms (unless you pay, of course), but was available in the common room - slightly inconvenient - Check in at 2:00 is quite late and there are no luggage facilities. I had to wait in the common room for over 2 hours with my suitcase. - Common area was very noisy late at night. No respect for other visitors, and staff did nothing about it.
Even though it definitely has a hostellike feel to it, you get the added benefit of privacy and your own bathroom. Everything was very much in order.
Great location close in north London. Staff were friendly and nice. Bike hire is amazing way to get around.
As it is a University faultily it does not get cleaned so it is quite dirty. No free internet in the rooms. 7.50 pounds a day if you have the old ethernet connection. Which makes it hassle to go down stairs and use the free place to plan your day. People are everywhere on the floors and halls for this reason.
It was good value for money.
The matress was a lumpy and uncomfortable.
It is a modern dormitory, with lifts and everything. Not a "nice Victorian house". Subway station is reachable by foot (about 10-15 minutes). Many groceries and take-aways nearby. There is a self-service laundry in the building.
Shared tee pot. No internet in rooms unless you pay unreasonable fee. Shower is very inconvenient, never properly hot. The common room with WiFi is full of noisy youngsters (not for people over 25, actually).
Easy to find
Never found the kitchen
Everybody is ready to help any time you need . Very patient to explain things. Smiling and welcoming !!))
smell of rubbish in the bins in the kitchen....it is better to take it away at least twice a week not just once no conditioning (((
Nice staff! friendly people :)The short walk from the 2 stations I'd say it's a plus - means they're nearby but not too close to be noisy. I had a very nice stay, quiet room and area(which I needed since I was going to a course) but near a very lively street with good food! Simple key for access, clean room&linens, shared kitchen, wifi connection in the lobby (good one),everything one needs. Plus, a quite artsy area, which I loved!
The lobby where we had wifi access could use a bit cleaner seats and tables, but I suppose it always ends up like this with all the artists living there most of the time...otherwise it was very very good !
good location, clean and comfortable environment!
The guy helping me to sort out Internet was nice.
Receptionist could have been nicer and more helpful. I wish there were some kitchen utensils available like any other halls I've lived in before.
Room clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Felt safe. Close to Tube station. Close to shops.
Very noisy at night - from outside - music, traffic, air traffic.I come from a very quiet area of NZ, and am not used to constant city noise. Ear plugs worked well. No free wifi in the bedroom, but was aware that would be the case.
Simple clean basic requirements - no frills - know what you are getting. Close to corner shops. Friendly, helpful staff. Cost that I paid.
Kitchen neglected by other users. Piles of dirty dishes etc. (typical students) NB - angle of shower could not be altered and so this necessitated hair wash every time - difficult for long hair without hair dryer. Basic design fault. Ventilation poor due to H&S regs.
Don't like their system
Everything not functioning effectively
close to tube good view with second room
pretty much everything else
