The swimming pool, steam and sauna room were excellent.
There was a distinct lack of signs in changing room for ease of access to pool and other facilities. A costume dryer would have been helpful.
Competitive price, breakfast especially good quality, rooms good facilities.
One major problem this hotel has no lounge area for residents, so after a meal you cannot relax with a drink anywhere.
A lovely welcome from the young lady on reception and the two young men waiting on tables for breakfast. I only stayed one night and didn't eat in the hotel other than breakfast.
Very little really. Picky I know but the pillows were very flat.
Staff were friendly and polite. Very comfortable room and excellent food.
Minor niggles. Wifi was difficult to logon to with laptop and shower hose leaked badly which made for a poor shower.
the beautiful garden, service, lovely food, terrace, frienly staff
Have stayed here previously and love this hotel!. Staff very friendly cannot do enough for you. Rooms lovely, location great, food lovely and value for money.
Nothing what so ever
The staff were attentive and helpful. Food was very good and a good selection in the Bistro. Breakfast (traditional B&E) was served rather than self service. Value for money.
Only one comment about Breakfast. The staff were helpful and took our order for the main breakfast; however, no sooner did we start our starter (cereal/fruit) then the waiter brought the hot meal instead of being aware what the customers were eating and waiting for us to finish before bringing the plate with B&E. This was for everyone that i saw who ordered breakfast.
Good hotel with great facilities
Room was not cleaned properly. Dusty, finger marks on things, hair in the bath and dead flies on the window sill. Breakfast was poor. Lack of selection for an up market hotel and very messy
Food in Figs Brasserie, although the room was not as clean as it should be. We know the hotel well since we enjoyed our wedding reception there fifty two years ago!
Although we were given a room suitable for disabled (having a wet room,) it was situated at the furthest point from reception down two short flights of stairs and an incredibly long corridor. Of course the end (fire) door was locked and alarmed, and this necessitated myself having to negotiate the long corridor. A minor point - safety rails were installed in the wet room, but there were no handles to enable the occupant to exit safely, and nothing to hold onto whilst towelling.
location, food, atmosphere.
The craziest food ordering service ever experienced, sorry - but you must really reconsider this, you are either table service or self service, you can not mix the two, it really doesn't work.
Good to relax but also convenient for business meetings. Nice bar and exellent breakfast!
Perhaps the rooms are a little dated. They are clean and tidy but could do with an upgrade
We were there for a company summer barbecue. The food was excellent. I am a vegetarian and was so impressed with the delicious nut burger, halloumi kebab and aubergine stuffed with couscous. It was very imaginative and accompanied with the coleslaw and salads was really satisfying - compliments to the chef!
There was a strange musty smell along the corridors and in the room - slightly damp and stale.
Staff were friendly and efficient. good choices in restaurant too.
nothing to dislike
We had a suite, it was huge, very nice
Bed was very soft and uncomfortable
Beautiful location, would certainly use again.
The hotel was in a good location near Hull - staff friendly and helpful. Room comfortable, food good in brasserie.
The ironing board which was attached to the trouser press fell on my foot while I was ironing. The stair carpet leading to the reception was not clean and was steep. There is disabled access. Water seemed to be getting into the building near the health centre when it was raining and staff had to put towels down each time it rained. Pillows were not comfortable.
Beds not comfortable. Room décor was very poor Not value for money
Brilliant price paid for suite. Included dressing room and seating area. Bar area good with hand pumped real ale. Food very nice too.
Bar closed at eleven which is a bit old fashioned in this day and age.
Large well appointed room, roomy bathroom with bath and decent shower. Included full service English breakfast. Access to leisure facilities - swimming pool. Friendly staff.
The food and the staff were excellent.
The room had very old dated decor.
Excellent staff, pleasant surroundings good facilities food very good
Beds a little too firm
Comfortable clean room - quiet location . Good choice of restaurant and bar meals . Staff friendly and efficient ,and well supervised .
The steep steps up to front entrance . Invalid access difficult
The room was lovely, good excellent and staff very friendly
Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast provided a wide choice and cooked breakfast was prepared individually. Would stay there again.
