We had a tasty and relaxed long Sunday lunch with family. There was no rush or pressure to leave. Service was good and discrete.
The thumping of the music on Friday and Saturday nights was not to like. However we had been warned before we booked and we wanted to stay in that area as it was very handy for family. Mid week would be much better.
fairly close to transport links
noise levels atrocious. although warned that live dj in pub on fri night and music would be loud we arrived on thurs night and music was v loud that night although nothing compared to fri night when the floor of our room was literally bouncing with the noise. also i asked for gluten/wheat free breakfast - completely ignored - unable to eat any breakfast provided. not a hotel. unable to get any food when we arrived after traveling from before teatime.
It's been our 2nd time at this hotel this time the staff was more pleasant & just once they forgot the milk!! In the room. The continental breakfast is nice!!
I know we get warning about the music at weekends but there not telling us wot time the music ends!! It's was soo loud it could wake the dead up in the cemetery across the road!! LoL I think at weekends the breakfast should be upto 10:30 - 11:00 and the checking out time about 11:30 - 12.00 due to the loud music!!
Rooms were clean and surprisingly large! Food from the restaurant was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
no escalator, no AC, small room,..
Food was excellent, really enjoyed the dinner
Noise from 9pm through to 2am then another hour with people talking outside the window in the street. Terrible nights sleep. Found the manager very curt, rest of the staff were lovely.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Room was lovely.
More pillows! That's it!
The room was nice and from the outside the hotel looked nice
The free breakfast that was stated, implied full breakfast as it didn't state continental only, whereas in fact it was a load of 'help yourself' stuff and a toaster on the bar counter. The booking said there would be music playing downstairs til late. This gave the impression that you would probably hear the bass or some of the music; in reality on the Friday night it was a rave which I can only describe as Jamaican/junglist dub night with a dj and it sounded like it was happening in our room, the glass surfaces on the tables were vibrating it was that loud and even if we wanted to join in and have a drink we would not have felt comfortable in as it seemed to be aimed at that 'culture' only. Saturday night was a dance night, we didn't get back til 1am and the music wasn't as bad but it was still ridiculously loud and yet again I would've been more inclined to stay and have a drink but we did not fit in. The hotel was not very clean, it looked like it needed a good going over even for a 'boutique vintage' look. The stairs had dust bunnies on, but the room was clean. The room, was lovely on the Friday when we got in and dropped our stuff off, however when we got up on Saturday morning I noticed a few ants by the balcony door. Saturday someone came in our room changed our sheets and gave us fresh towels, which was lovely but after that it seemed there was an ant infestation in our room. By this time I was really pissed off, there was ants in my make up bag, in the wardrobe and even on the bed, I did not sleep well Saturday night due to the music and feeling itchy and like ants were crawling on me. We were told to check out by 11am on Sunday yet when I went down stairs and tried to get someone's attention there was nobody to be seen. In the end I went outside and banged on the guest entrance for them to let me in and check out.
Loud Dance music till 2.30am The very basic breakfast with warm milk The shrug their shoulders attitude of the staff Need I go on?
The hotel offers a great value for money! Good location (although there is no underground near, but well served by bus lines) and helpful staff. The accommodations are very good. If dealing with an old renovated building, there are no elevators, so attention to those who have heavy bags or difficulties in locomotion. It has a pub on the ground floor, with loud music on weekends, which bothers a little, because there is not much isolation in the rooms, but the hotel makes this clear on booking. I recommend!
Me and my boyfriend stayed here last week while we attended an event in London and we stayed it room 12 we were so happy this room was great we had the balcony which look out onto the road.the room was clean and modern we just loved it.it felt very homely even the corridor just felt like a home.the bathroom was fab so clean and sparkling like it had never been used.
The location wasn't bad, just off the bakerloo line and bussing from there was pretty easy, sometimes long but London is big. Rooms were a good size and we had a fan which was awesome. Bathrooms were clean and a good size as well.
Beds were not comfy at all, very squeaky. There was a weird smell on the way to our room. Probably from the kitchen below. Staff don't know much about the surrounding areas. Wifi was rarely on and barely hit our room.
