Hotel, gardens, ambience
Grand building, gardens, location, comfortable 4 poster bed, good facilities, bar, good breakfast, attentive staff
Restaurant meal very average, general décor tired in room and hotel
Friendliness of the staff. Beautiful grounds, relaxed attitude. Clean modern bathroom.
Decor looks a little tired, some tender loving care needed. Lovely big bed but not well presented
Furniture and furnishings throughout. Large, bright, airy bedroom with lovely bathroom Gardens
Uncomfortable, though beautiful, four poster bed - mattress too soft and dipped in middle. Mixed quality food gave disappointing experience
Dog-friendly which was a must. We had room 1 with a four-poster bed. It was probably the most comfortable bed I ever slept in - I loved it and wished we were staying longer. Beautiful room with fabulous views. Lovely, friendly staff. Beautiful grounds. Excellent rainfall shower. Good dining experience: lovely breakfast.
Bathroom floor was dirty. Water from the shower took a very long time to drain out of the bath - at least half an hour. Drain needs to be cleaned out.
our room - nice and spacious. view from the dining room. Gardens.
A beautiful Hotel and grounds made our celebrations really special. They upgraded us with no extra cost to a lovely superior room. It was so quite and relaxing and the staff were very helpful.
The WiFi code given on arrival was wrong, but even when I had the correct code the signal wasn't brilliant.
Beautiful hotel and setting, great staff lovely bar and sitting area. Bed very comfortable, charming. I would definately recommend to others. If your looking for that traditional feel of an English countryside bed and breakfast this hotel will give you that feel. Very charming.
WiFi did not work in room. Room was quite warm upon returning (no A/C) for evening and window was opened to cool it down. That was not a problem, except there were no less then half a dozen flies and several moths in the room that were quite a nusiance.
Staff were friendly and food was very good
Number of stairs to second floor - no lift
It was a lovely place to stay, in a beautiful country setting. Enjoyed every minute
There was no wifi reception in the room. Only really worked in the area around the lobby.
Brilliant location, fantastic staff, love the customer intimacy and the setting is wonderful.
Wifi is a little erratic but it does work
From the first moment I spoke to Sue on reception to let her know my arrival time I was made to feel welcome and at ease. She even offered to prepare me a seat on the terrace with a glass of wine ready for 8pm. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff are a real credit to this venue. I stay away weekly and as a solo female traveler i often feel intimidated into having room service and hiding away. Not here, in fact i didn't really want to go to bed. The weather was fantastic, the gardens were beautiful and the food was a dream. It was like stepping back in time, but in a good way. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. I'm hoping for an excuse to stay in this area very soon.
Hotel Gardens, Room size, staff friendliness
some local roads
Lovely quiet location, well managed grounds. Wonderful staff. Beautiful views from bedroom.
The hall is lovely, the room was spacious and elegant. The sunset viewed from our room was beautiful. Breakfast excellent. All aspects of our stay were great. We will definitely return.

peacefull location in the country
Lovely location beautiful grounds great food
Beautiful gardens, very friendly staff, excellent bar, fabulous breakfast. We'll be back!
Only complaint about the poor wifi signal but it didn't detract from our enjoyment.
The location is amazing, the food very good and the staff, friendly and helpful.
Access to the Wi-Fi was 'iffy'.
What a great find! I was travelling with an Italian colleague who was fed up with staying in " those plastic lodge places" My mission was to find a Country House Hotel between Chester and Liverpool that would not break the bank, we were not disappointed. Rooms were great, food good and staff friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.
Having to leave early for an 8.30 am meeting in Liverpool
Location - views! House and gardens, and quality of food and chef. And kindness and helpfulness of all staff.
Lovely building. Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast.
Very patchy wifi only available downstairs.
