Seventeen acres of beautiful formal gardens and parkland surround this grand Victorian hotel. Fresh produce, grown on Willington Hall Hotel’s grounds, is used in the restaurant's modern British dishes. Antique furnishings are in each individually designed room. Afternoon tea can be taken on the terrace or in the elegant drawing room. The homemade pie of the week is a popular choice in the bar, and snacks and drinks are available throughout the day. A sunny day out in the Cheshire countryside can be complimented by one of Willington’s picnic hampers. Egyptian cotton linen covers each bed and guests can relax in front of the flat-screen TV. Most rooms have lovely views across the surrounding parkland and countryside. Free private parking is available and Delamere Rail Station is a 10-minute taxi journey away. Bike rides can be enjoyed through the woodland and around the lakes in Delamere Forest, which is also just a 10-minute drive away. Country house: 12 rooms , Hotel Chain: Recommended Hotels. The staff were very friendly, and the hotel was clean and comfortable. The food we ordered was only the bar menu but was excellent with large portions. We would book again for the same area. The only hand pulled draught beer was superb, but ran out half way through the first night and remained off for the rest of the stay.

The nice location, extensive grounds, vast bedroom, dog friendliness and the fine breakfast. The staff were very helpful. A bit of re-decoration would not go amiss.

The location and the grounds were impressive along with the building itself and was a very relaxing place to be. The food was very dissapointing, I have never had roast lamb so tough to the point of leaving it due to being unable to chew it. My partner found the beef was similar. The mattress was very uncomfortable so lack of sleep was also a factor.

Beautiful setting, exellent menu and attentive, friendly, professional staff. Certainly recommend and would like to stay again. Liked everything - my only suggestion would be that a few areas (windows especially) would benefit from a touch up of paint to improve appearance.

Stunning location, convenient for Chester, Manchester, Snowdonia and an escape from the zoo that is the M6. Lovely grounds, great for pottering or dog-walking. The hotel is a Victorian pile, the food is very good, breakfast too. Friendly staff, too and a great place for one or two nights break or just a stopover. Like all elderly buildings, this one is clearly maintenance-intensive, and could do with a lick of paint here and there. The heating system is antiquated - our bedroom was like a sauna until the ever cheerful staff sorted it for us.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I took our dog who was also very welcome. The grounds are fabulous and I even took advantage of the spa facilities. Tea coffee and water all complimentary. Excellently stocked bar and knowledgeable and friendly bar staff. We will be back hopefully soon!

The room was gorgeous and luxurious, the food was excellent, the bar tarrif was good value, location was bliss and staff very friendly. A very small item to mention but there was no backgrund music in the restaurant or bar area. There were no comfy chairs/lounge area to relax in. (I also dont like the fact that there is no availability for any weekends showing on Booking.com, Ive tried up to March 2014 - and I would love to go back.

The staff in the hotel where really friendly and offered a personalised service. I would recommend the hotel to all my family and friends and will most certainly look to return in the future. We paid a £20 surcharge per night as we where travelling with a dog (booking.com stated the hotel as dog friendly) whilst the staff where very accommodating we where limited where we could take the dog within the hotel which put restrictions on our activities during our stay.

Stayed for 2nights as the hotel had a great deal on so I cancelled my original hotel & booked the Willington. And was I not disappointed. The house is stunning, beautiful views, gorgeous interior and large spacious rooms with a far reaching view of the countryside. If I am ever up country again I wouldn't hesitate to stay. And the food was very good, especially their lemon tart.

Lovely hotel but a bit hard to find in the country lanes. Friendly and helpful staff. Super bed and en suite facilities warm and comfortable. Stairs were a bit of a problem could have been better with a ground floor room but not sure if they actually existed.

Our stay at Willington Hall was to celebrate my parents 60th wedding anniversary. The rooms were excellent and the Hotel had upgraded my parents to the 4 poster room, they were thrilled. Our other rooms were superior rooms and they were beautifully maintained with fabulous views across the country side. The staff were very helpful & friendly. Our party of 7 ate in the restaurant, the food and service was excellent. Nothing
