Slight confusion over food, well handled though
Relaxed & felt comfortable. All needs were met.
Friendly staff were very helpful. Room was large with plenty of storage. Breakfast was good as was the food in the restaurant.
Decor in the bathroom was tired.
Staff were friendly and efficient. The house and grounds were very relaxing. Very good choice of dishes on the menu and breakfast was all freshly cooked...lovely.
My husband and I went away locally for the night. When we arrived to our dismay the restaurant does not open on a Sunday evening and we could only eat in the bar. This should be made clear to you before you book as we clearly went away for a nice meal in nice surroundings. Also on a Sunday there is no food room service, restaurant or bar available sfter 2.30pm until 6.00pm and all food finishes at 8.00pm.
EVERYTHING Would certainly use again
That we were not booked in for longer!
The location of this Hotel is FANTASTIC! I asked for Flowers and a nice Bottle of Wine in our room on arrival and we were NOT charged for the Wine. A gift from the Hotel for our Anniversary! Glorious views over the well kept gardens and into the countryside beyond. The sound of a gentle fountain we could hear from our room with it's Four Poster Bed was very soothing. The room was very light and airy and well furnished. Excellent staff and very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. As for the Food, I can only say *****! Small thing's let the Hotel down but could easily be fixed.
The window's which are Metal Framed would not close. Soon fixed by the Hotel. Damp Patch near the ceiling spoiled the decoration. Cold Water Tap would not turn off. No explanation of how the Shower Worked untill we asked. ( Small button to press which looked like a Marker for Temperature ). FLYS! Countryside, true! BUT! A lot of Fly's. We had to ask for fly killer on our last night there as there were so many in the room. Our last night we picked up 61 dead one's from the carpet. I ordered a Newspaper for each morning and finally had one delivered to our room on the morning we checked out. DO NOT be put off by my Comments! I would DEFINITELY stay again.
The staff were friendly, the food was excellent and freshly cooked, lovely room, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again one day
even though most of the staff were quite young all were very helpful and friendly. the hotel was very traditional but very comfortable and we will come back again
Arrived very late - no problem for Debbie Beds fantastic best nights sleep in a hotel - ever Staff courteous, friendly and thoughtful Great location grounds worth a look Lovely old house with a great atmosphere
Ok very hard pressed to find any fault but if I must do review your Black Pudding supplier the flavour is good but the texture lets it down as it contains to much cereal, but I must add I am nit picking the full English breakfast was just right
Location Staff friendliness Large Room size Beautiful decor Dog Friendly Cleanliness Countryside views Beautiful gardens
+ Quality of service (Not many staff, but they were really pleasant and responsive. Nothing was too much trouble). + Location.
- Nothing of note.
Everything - great room.
Hotel, gardens, ambience
We were staying for a friends 25th wedding celebration. The food & service very good.We were offered upgrade for our room. The view was fabulous The bed was queen size very comfortable.Great bathroom with good power shower.Breakfast was very good, also lots of choice.
coffee @ breakfast could have been better.
Grand building, gardens, location, comfortable 4 poster bed, good facilities, bar, good breakfast, attentive staff
Restaurant meal very average, general décor tired in room and hotel
Friendliness of the staff. Beautiful grounds, relaxed attitude. Clean modern bathroom.
Decor looks a little tired, some tender loving care needed. Lovely big bed but not well presented
Furniture and furnishings throughout. Large, bright, airy bedroom with lovely bathroom Gardens
Uncomfortable, though beautiful, four poster bed - mattress too soft and dipped in middle. Mixed quality food gave disappointing experience
Dog-friendly which was a must. We had room 1 with a four-poster bed. It was probably the most comfortable bed I ever slept in - I loved it and wished we were staying longer. Beautiful room with fabulous views. Lovely, friendly staff. Beautiful grounds. Excellent rainfall shower. Good dining experience: lovely breakfast.
Bathroom floor was dirty. Water from the shower took a very long time to drain out of the bath - at least half an hour. Drain needs to be cleaned out.
our room - nice and spacious. view from the dining room. Gardens.
A beautiful Hotel and grounds made our celebrations really special. They upgraded us with no extra cost to a lovely superior room. It was so quite and relaxing and the staff were very helpful.
The WiFi code given on arrival was wrong, but even when I had the correct code the signal wasn't brilliant.
Beautiful hotel and setting, great staff lovely bar and sitting area. Bed very comfortable, charming. I would definately recommend to others. If your looking for that traditional feel of an English countryside bed and breakfast this hotel will give you that feel. Very charming.
WiFi did not work in room. Room was quite warm upon returning (no A/C) for evening and window was opened to cool it down. That was not a problem, except there were no less then half a dozen flies and several moths in the room that were quite a nusiance.
Staff were friendly and food was very good
Number of stairs to second floor - no lift
