I paid almost £90 per night and had a room that was so small there was barely room to move. The only place I could put my suitcase was on the floor outside the bathroom where I bumped into it and badly hurt my toe. When I checked in there was no ironing board available for use with no guarantee that one would become so. When I said I thought that was unacceptable, especially given the price I had paid, they went out and bought another one which I appreciated. But altogether not good enough.
Some staff were pleasant, such as my initial receptionist and the dining room staff.
Hotel v pretty, room and bed comfy, staff v accommodating
But....... The floorboards were so creaky. Unbelievably noisey. When The room above walked the floorboards were soooo noisey. The room below we could hear just walking and every time anyone walked passed the room it was so noisey the guests were saying shhhhh to each other! Crazy! I asked about this and they said it had recently been refurbished. I think the floor boards had not or were put too tightly together. It sounded like we should have been in a medieval Tudor house not a modern building. Such a shame as the staff were great. The room was lovely and the bed was fab! I wouldn't stay again if I wanted a good nights sleep
Super room decor, comfy bed, great staff and breakfast.
Surly receptionist who tied to put into a classic room when we had booked executive and then didn't apologise and was not at all welcoming or helpful.
Secure car parking Bar had a nice ambience
The free parking space is very limited, but there is private parking cost 5£ per night
Room was very hot and stuffy; no aircon. Single-glazed windows that didn't shut properly, lots of noise from the main road. Could hear person next door snoring. Cooked breakfast food was cold.
Friendly and helpful staff. Pretty close to centre of town and right next to a bus stop with very frequent services. Ideal location next to "curry mile" (if you like curries).
Grubby room and bathroom, poor shower and loose fitting taps.
Room rate expensive
Room was a disgrace tiles up on bathroom floor bed stunk of foist
The staff do not action you special requests after advising that they will be actioned, e.g i asked for rooms close to each other for my mother birthday. I was told this was fine however when we arrived we were told that the request has not been recorded and would not be able to be actioned. The floor board are loud when walked on which means you will be woken up at 4am. The staff are not accommodating and are abrupt! DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL
Event on the Sunday afternoon in the restaurant made the bar area unacceptable due to the noisyt children charging about. Had hoped for a light supper before evening out but decided we just couldn't stand it.
Extremely convenient for our needs, easy bus journeys into town
Excellent location, close to Fallowfield and a cheap bus ride to the city to the north or Didsbury to the south. Good bars nearby in Withington.
Stairs to reception & rooms! anyone not to sure on their feet might need a helping hand!
This hotel has a lovely atmosphere! From young & old, all enjoyed the relaxing feeling you get, little pockets of seating areas, staff very friendly. Bus stops right outside, McDonalds & Weatherspoons very close by. Taxi cost into city centre about £12
Near where we wanted to be.
Corridors are bit oppressive and could do with an update. Walk to my room very long - people who find walking difficult should request a room near reception.
Very convenient for visiting Manchester university students or if dropping off/picking up. On main bus route - very cheap.
Poor beds, bad floorboards, room was cold. room was small.
Very little, tv was good. Bathrooms where good
Shabby. Needs a good tidy up. Our shower dripped 24-7 so we had to use our bath mat to deaden the noise. Each day a sodden bathmat was replaced but no-one asked why and at checkout I wasn't even asked about my stay so no feedback to the Best Western chain.
Right on the best bus route into the city centre
Convenient location, warm, clean and comfortable
a rabbit warren of corridors. Not suitable quality for the price
Very busy, coachload of children but our room was out of the way and very quiet.
Location...best hotel near university accommodation
Room smelt mouldy when we arrived (drains?). Very little space on either side of bed or to open suitcases. Pillows were flat and floppy. Difficult to shower without being scalded (adjustment obscure). View out of the back was rather dingy (barbed wire and lock-up garages).
Quick check-in. Parking. Windows that open. Quiet room at back. Friendly staff. Good state of decor and cleanliness. Decent mattress and duvet.
Booking in was a bit slow. The radiator was on all night so I had to have both windows open all night.
The barman was friendly and prompt with my order. The food was good and good value for money.
Minute rooms and a closed bar!! Also reception was conspicuous by their absence - chatting in the back room.
Clean and fresh linen - didn't have the £10 breakfast - mcD next door!
