Score from 431 reviews Very good
own front door to cottage- didn't feel like a typical B&B. Fantastic rural views over the downs- huge bed and up to date very clean bathroom with a good sized bath. Breakfast served in pub- all excellent ingredients and served with a smile. We would come again despite my comments re food
Ate in attached pub- food good and reasonably priced- but a very long wait for starters- an hour-they did apologise. My medium rare steak- which I had requested more rare than medium was a lovely piece of meat- but was well done- I am sure had I said anything that they would have changed it- but I didn't want another long wait. Breakfast served in pub was very slow in arriving- but they had had problems with their gas supply
The location, in the beautiful Sussex countryside, behind a pub. Parking was easy. The room was well appointed The staff were very helpful and professional. Breakfast in the pub was very good with a choice of menus. Dinner in the pub was excellent, with delicious locally caught fish.
The fixed shower could not be made to work properly. The TV in the room is a bit small and the service cuts out from time to time.
The natural ambiance! clean and tidy overall a very pleasant stay.
poor taxi service which is out of your hands! we tried 4 different company's and none of them could assist us very disappointing especially for a wedding. The entrance to the barns objects left laying around out of keeping for the area.
The location. The property itself.
A room with a hand shower Breakfast not more than OK, running out of things like milk, orange juice, yoghurt etc. There was just no proper management/ Having been in the hospitality business for many years, I could write pages on everything that was wrong with the way this property is run. I have always found your ratings very reliable and fail to understand how high it has been placed in your ratings.
1, The kindness of the staff when we arrived even after midnight was astonishing. Breakfasts are great and dining in the ajacent pub was very good.
Perhaps better instructions could be given to find the place since it is rather off the beaten track. Why not simply say it is linked to the White Horse but hidden behind it.
Nobody avialable until 07:30, so no breakfast even it was paid before!
We very much liked Wendy, our welcome on first arriving though a bind having to phone through to leave a message of arrival time. How do you know when you don't know area?Room was great food very good and Wendy friendly informative and welcoming.Felt usp was dinning room .
Pub was shut but would be worried about noise when open and breakfast arrangement was so good feel change to pub conservatory could be a downer.
Excellent - nothing beats a smart, clean and comfortable room. Willow Barns gets this very right!
Staff (Wendy) very friendly and helpful. Room was charming and relaxing. Breakfast had great choice freshly prepared.
For personal family reasons would have preferred internet in room itself as needed to be contactable.
Great location, very clean and comfy! Breakfast was amazing! Loved it!
That we had 'pub next door' view from our room but not a big deal! We would like to stay 'park' view next time we stay!
very good accomodation, clean, modern with all facilities.
WiFi does not work so well in the rooms.
We loved the rooms and the charming decor, very nicely done. Lovely breakfast - perfect for sunny days in the courtyard. Helpful and friendly staff providing info of the local area.
The walls are a bit thin so you can hear neighbours moving around/using their bathroom. The wi-fi was only available in the breakfast room.
The little touches were great and the location was excellent
The fact that the room was not cleaned or the towels changed. At £100 per night it was not good value for money. We wouldn't pay that much again.
What a lovely place. Tastefully decorated and very warm and comfortable accommodation. A beautiful spot on the South Downs and there were so many local pubs that served really good food. Wendy met us and showed us around and gave us loads of local information. Would certainly return.
The room, the location, the breakfast, the staff ( Wendy)
The dividing walls are reasonable thin and could hear everyone having breakfast in the morning from the adjoining breaksfast room. When its converted to a bedroom, I wonder whether the stay would be as peaceful. Definitely more sound proofing needed, as that would be one reason to stop me from re-booking, as everything else was excellent!
Very well equipped and well looked after. Very good service. I felt that they bent over backwards to make my stay excellent.
The quality of this place is outstanding. The room was perfect. Underfloor heating. Big comfy bed. The breakfast very high quality. Very very high quality. The welcome was efficient and friendly. Two local pubs both excellent. Quite area.
Nothing. It was perfect You probably need a car to get there but not sure
Very friendly and very accommodating of my dietary requirements
Excellent service, lovely rooms and lovely location
Everything - the room was comfortable and stylish, the bathroom the same. We were met by a charming lady who cooked us breakfast the following morning. And there were cup cakes for tea on our arrival!
Wendy was extremely helpful and a lovely person to meet on the Sunday morning. Breakfast was exceptional. Room was amazing, slept like a baby.
Slightly difficult to find late at night in the dark, but well worth it!
Very occasionally you come across a jewel while travelling, this is such a place. Fred makes it very special.
The Barns are fabulous and decorated beautifully.. great breakfast and friendly host
Although lovely a little too pricey for a B&B.
Willow Barns was perfect. Owner couldn't have been more helpful. It was spotlessly clean in a great location and the breakfast was superb. Thank you.
