눉Arrived at 5.30, no sign of life. Knocked door, no answer. Walked around to see if anyone about. On my return to the front, noticed a light was now on inside so tapped on window. Man inside indicated 'the doors open' but didn't come to greet me. I went in and he didn't even say hello, but carried on his business. Not very welcoming. It didn't get any better when I told him I had a booking. He just asked my name, fumbled round for a key and showed us to the room. The only info offered was that there was a thermostat on the wall. I had to ask 'what time is breakfast' 'do you have wifi' etc He didn't ask if we wanted a table for dinner, so we decided to eat elsewhere.
The room was tastefully decorated, but only had a couple of small windows and a dim bulb, so was dark. The glasses were smeary and wet. Skylight was open in bathroom, but too high to close. Roll top bath has shower attachment-looks good but impractical for hair washing.
The picturesque patio on the photos is unloved, with an empty planter outside the room, furniture randomly placed as though left after a party, and tissue paper on floor which remained the whole of our stay.
Breakfast was rather slow. Scrambled egg resembled scrambled omelette and the sausages were not good. There was no banter. Very clinical.
Room tidy consisted of folding towels, making bed and smearing the glasses again! The bath and sink weren't touched.
Evening drink-barmaid lovely. Local guys quite sweary and loud, then a dog came sniffing round our feet and hovering crumbs.
Overall, very unfriendly and overpriced at £110 per night.
