Comfort, location and luxury.
The staff were friendly and the hotel was very clean.
Being charged for hotel car park, £25 for an average bottle of wine, bedroom situated over the plant room for the swimming pool, noisy all night.
A very cheerful place with happy staff and a great location
Enjoyed the quality of the food, the sauna and the proximity to Hyde (underrated part of Winchester). We walked to Town Centre and all the way to St Cross. Also many thanks to the management for the free bottle of prosecco to celebrate our wedding anniversary!
Room temperature and air conditioning was slow to warm it up. Having to wait for pool and sauna access on Saturday late afternoon.
Ease of check-in, spa facility, but most importantly the cleanliness and comfort of the room and bed. Great to have a real, proper breakfast included, with hot and cold options - it was lovely!
No main ceiling light in the bedroom part of the room.
Getting food poisoning after ordering a ham and cheese sandwich through room service. The hotel refused to deal with the complaint
Good wifi in the room.
We were given a room with disabled facilities without consultation. This includes a very shallow bath not at all suitable for soaking in!! The hotel was completely unapologetic about this. When we checked out we were not asked how our stay had been. A long hike and two separate lifts to get to the room. 4 stars should mean better care of customers!
The quality of the food is really good, the majority of the staff are wonderfully friendly. We love the on site spa and facilities, especially room service and freeview tv, and free wifi. We would definitely return. Unlimited weekend breakfast buffet and served until 10.30am, a definite plus!
The bath was very narrow, too narrow for a comfortable bath. Overall, whilst still comfortable, the whole hotel feels a bit tired, nothing a decent paint and grouting job couldn't sort.
Very comfortable, quiet
Too hot in communal areas including breakfast area A little too pricey
Value for money, facilities excellent
Bed was too soft in our opinion!
The spa treatments are first class. Very happy with staff in the spa and fitness area.
Unfriendly greeting at reception upon arrival
Clean and friendly hotel
Paying for car parking
Problems using business card to prepay as it is a debit card not a cr
Restaurant was very average unfortunately.
The location to local shops, wonderful market and Cathedral - lovely!
No fridge in the bedroom
The breakfast was good.
good size room with 2 armchairs and coffee table, good TV that swivelled, comfortable bed
shower space was limited by narrowness of bath, and grab-rail/soap holder on one side made it even narrower
Friendly staff . Good value
Slightly out of middle of the town but walkable into centre - very handy for train station
The hotel staff at the Winchester Hotel were amazing! They really went the extra mile to make sure you felt welcome and at home. I would definitely stay again if I was visiting Winchester.
10-15 walk from the main shops
NEAR DCITY CENTRE COMFORTABLE BED
BEING TOLD THAT RESTAURANT WAS NOT FOR CHILDREN AFTER 8.00PM WHILST BEING UNABLE TO BOOK RESTAURANT UNTIL 8.15 PM; SPA NOT WORKING
Everything was great: staff, b'fast, room, spa. Just a 10 minute walk away from the centre and of Winchester (High Street shops and coffee shops...) so an ideal location. Car park was free in fact at the time of our visit. Couldn't have asked for more
Lovely room very comfortable bed, Pleasant public area Good breakfast Good location and quiet Free parking
Cost of drinks £9 for a small glass of wine and bottle of water. Unable to use pool due to lack of heating( we were made aware prior to visit ) A little chaotic in the dining room at breakfast time, and people having to wait ,for a buffet!
The room was clean. Nice to have free botteled water in the room. Good b'fast buffet quality
Poor tasting coffee af B'fast. Parking a bit of a nightmare at the back of the hotel if you have a larger car.
Room was nicely furnished and spacious. Reception staff were friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Location-wise we were really pleased, it's about 5 minutes walk from the train station, and about five minutes to the start of the town centre.
The bed was big but not that comfortable as the mattress was sagged in the middle. There was a problem with the boiler apparently which affected lots of the available hot water to the pool/jacuzzi and many rooms, but after some clarification it turned out that I was assigned an unaffected room and all was ok. Points removed for the boiler problem but re-awarded for letting me know in good time.
Bit noisey ( rail traffic and road works) and a bit of a walk into town.
