The pool/spa were really nice and well kept. Our baby enjoyed her swim each morning! We had a three course meal included in our deal, but were unable to go down to the restaurant due to our little baby so we changed this to room service. This was fine with the hotel (although they forgot this at checkout and tried to charge for the meal until we pointed it out). The food however was really good, with sizeable portions. Breakfast was buffet style, and very extensive. Staff in the restaurant were quick to offer us a high chair each morning. The gentleman who greeted us each morning was very friendly. Really disappointed by a couple of the members of staff. The lady that checked us out on our last day barely bothered to look at us from when we approached the desk until we left the reception. This is despite trying to charge us £60 for a meal that was included in our room deal. When we pointed out that we actually only owed about £15 she didn't apologise or even look at us, just merely took the payment. We were not asked whether we had enjoyed our stay or offered any other pleasantries. This left us with a poor impression of the hotel, when actually most other aspects had been fine. A real shame that a few members of rude/impolite staff can easily change your perspective.

This was a modern, luxury hotel. The spa facilities were wxcellent and are being extended. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was excellent! I would highly recommend. Our room overlooked the car park which some have commented as a negative however think curtains and net curtains meant thi was even a consideration. We will use this as our base every time! Nothing. Excellent.

Comfortable bed It's essentially a trumped up motel. Well overpriced. We went because it had a pool (there are some very artfully composed shots of it on the website that make it look lovely). In reality, the pool is miniscule, 2 strokes and you'd be done. We didn't bother.

Our stay at the Winchester was convenient for our needs whilst visiting the Sir John Moore Barracks. Some staff at the Winchester need more training in the art of dealing with the general public. Not once was we approached by the staff to find out if every thing was satisfactory with our room etc. On our first night in the hotel I approached the dining room at 1900hrs to sit down for a meal and was approached by a member of staff, stateting that they could not fit us in till 2050hrs, I found this ridiculous as the restraunt was empty and when I glanced at the bookings for that night he could quite easily have fitted us in for a evening meal, but it was thier loss we decided to use the facilities in the Gershwin bar. For the rest of our stay. After driving 257 miles you would think the hotel staff would be more accomndating. Both when we arrived and left the hotel was we offered any kind of porterage, the staff just watched whilst two elderly people struggled by with luggage, we both suffer with angina, if one was to have a heart attack I hope some one can deal with it. All in all it was a short visit, but not one I would repeat.

Nice modern style hotel 10 mins walk into the shopping centre. Room comfortable and clean. Ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was very good and reasonably priced. Air conditioning throughout hotel made it fairly chilly most of the time.

The Hotel is relaxing, clean, friendly with the added bonus of the spa facilities. The bedrooms have all requirements, i.e: fridge etc. Just what you want when getting away from stress and problems. Also the hotel is just away from the city centre and in a peaceful area, but walkable. This is our second visit to the hotel and will return again. A small mention - perhaps 2 or 3 more beds around the pool. The menu could have just a few more selection of dishes, but did not like the fact that you have a 2 or 3 course meal price but then charging extra for some dishes.

Modern, comfortable rooms, clean and nice spa facilities The hotel was clearly orientated to business use and not for families which reflected on verh high bar and restaurant charges. There was no flexibility to cater for teenage children.

The room was a good size with very nice furnishings. The bed was huge and also extremely comfortable. Both myself and my girlfriend are night owls but the bed was so comfortable that we fell asleep quite early and had a very relaxing rest. Nice size tv in the room, plus some good touches, like a fridge and safe. Wifi access was good too. The pool was lovely, although small, as was the jacuzzi/sauna room. The changing rooms for the leisure section of the hotel was a nice surprise too, with hairdryers/shaving ports etc. Breakfast was very good, lovely food and a big choice. All in all, a relaxing Hotel, polite staff and in a good location for access to Winchester. There was a wedding reception at the hotel during the evening which we were not informed about upon arrival. This wasn't a huge problem as we went out into the city to eat but the noise was a bit disturbing around 11pm or so.

I wanted to tour the city and found the hotel very convenient and ideally placed. The room facitities were perfect for my requirements, it was good value for money and the breakfast arrangements were excellent. The limited parking was not ideal and the lighting in the en-suite bathroom was too dim.
