The location close to the town centre
Not a lot in the hotel to do
We had a great stay.
Great location, lovely grounds. Run also for people with vision impairment. Braille enabled facilities. Very friendly environment. Great breakfasts. We spent 3 wonderful days there.Would recommend it.
Hotel location, quiet and pleasant environment.
enjoyed meeting various guide dogs used by some guests
The overall experience was absolutely great, it was our first visit to the Manor and I am sure it won't be the last
Comfortable room and surroundings
Rude , disconnected staff
Lovely looking building, nice room and facilities, Breakfast was great. The the only thing I could pick out if any thing was the pillows weren't the best in my opinion.
Pillows didn't feel that great.
breakfasts, staff, the sleep, the outside gardens
the smell of dogs when checking in.
The staff was helpful and very attentive a lovely location
I booked a room with a view, and all my view was of two car parks
Good food and helpful staff
Very friendly staff, excellent location with lovely surroundings and homely feeling. I would definitely stay here again.
The heating was turned off at night which was a strange management decision as the weather turned very cold making the room atmosphere very cold too.
The location was great, not too far for what we wanted, yet tucked out of the way so as not to be really busy. The staff was fantastic, we had a view of the lake from our room (8) which was nice, the room itself was quite spacious and had everything we needed. The price was fair, of both the room and the food and drinks. Breakfast and dinner were both enjoyable.
The only drop in rating for the cleanliness was the dog hair in the main areas - but being a hotel that caters for the vision impaired you have to expect some around. There was a number of guide dogs there when we stayed, it would be very hard to keep on top of. The only other thing was the water pressure in the shower. We both like good water pressure and it wasn't the best.
Room was lovely as we had our pet dog with us so the Bradbury cottages were perfect. It had a nice patio and garden, right next to the dog run. Breakfast was lovely and swimming pool was adequate.
Room service was basic. (We stayed 4 nights and had to ask for room to be hoovered on 3rd day as with a dog floors can get very dirty and they hadnt hoovered it). Staff were poor at times.
Staff were very friendly especially Ben, Aggie and Tony . .
Didn't know that the hotel was a "vision" hotel, (catering for blind people). The food was nothing special, the dining room chairs were dirty, lots of dog hairs everywhere. The gardens spoiled the hotel, 2 dahlia's in a flower bed? planters with no flowers in, just a little time spent in the garden would make a big difference.
Staff very friendly
The breakfast was the worst we have experienced in any hotel. Everything either straight out of a tin or over cooked, a bit like school dinners but at breakfast time.
Felt welcome The guide dogs The staff The pool

Classic victorian building, friendly environment, relaxed setting close to the lake
A little distant to the main tourist attractions. Just within walking distance but most day you will want to use a car
