Nice hotel with large well-equipped rooms. Excellent breakfast and evening meal. Staff very friendly and efficient. Ideal location for exploring the lakes. Staircase carpet very dirty compared to the rest of the hotel – previously raised in comments 10th June 13 but no action taken which is surprising, as this is a good hotel.

Location. Comfort. The heating was extremely hot. Breakfast was insufficient with small variety. Restaurant burnt the food. Not enough shampoo and gel in the bathroom for two people. No wi-fi in the room.

Simple menu, but well prepared and cooked food. Friendly and helpful staff, although lacking in finesse... Cleanliness - the main staircase was covered in dog hair, and clearly hadn't seen a vacuum cleaner for a long time - our bedroom had un- removed bits on the carpet for our entire stay, etc

Really good location. Very friendly staff and the breakfast was great! I also liked the fact that the hotel catered for a mixture of abilities - full sighted and partially sighted. The staff were very flexible - we asked for the swimming pool to be opened earlier than was on the timetable (also advertised that they would do this too) and they agreed. Just a great bunch of staff!

Really liked the Duty Manager Ben he was wonderful. Even though I answered staff poor at the top, Ben was an exception. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Service in the restaurant was appalling. Had to wait 25 mins for steak after it was cooked wrong, also not offered tea or coffee, both evening and morning service was terrible.

Generally a nice hotel. Good food. I was told that I may not be able to use the pool as the life guard had phoned in sick and there had to be two adults per child. I was on my own. As another family went into the pool I then could go in.

The hotel was nice, comfortable, and not too far from windermere, staff were friendly We didn't realize it was a hotel for the visually impaired when booking. Although we didnt mind too much about that, we felt we were a bit in the way. We felt that staff had to look after their visually impaired guests first maybe for reasons of health and safety and rightly so. But we felt the able bodied people had to wait for service. The hotel must not forget about 'any' of its residents as everyone is a paying customer and should be able to get an equal service. No information for local attractions for people who are not visually impaired. Staff seemed overwhelmed at times, due to responsiblilities and especially as they had a great number of visually impaired people to look after.

The refurbished cottage room was very well appointed and re-furbished to a high order. The restaurant prices were very reasonable. Until arrival unaware it was a Vision Hotel but were pleased to see how the facilities and staff catered for that group.

The location was ideal as we were attending a wedding. Our room was great and overlooked the lake. Very comfortable indeed. Would like to return for another stay and this time for longer. The fact that we were unable to get a snack or something to eat halfway through the afternoon. The chef said we had to wait until dinner at 6pm. We were attending a wedding at 7pm so did not require a full meal.

The location was good, the grounds were nice and plenty of parking. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly The shower in Room 4 was not working correctly. Even after reporting it to Reception, it still didn't get sorted. There was no bath, so we were reliant on the shower, all that was required was a replacement shower head. Not happy about that.
