Running water into the tanks at the side of our room hotel did change our room at 23.00 hrs thanks
The food in the restaurant was absolutely beautiful.
The mattress a bit too squidgy for my likeing, but thats just a preference thing. Others may have a more favourable opinion.
Restaurant and meals were excellent. Room was good though.
1) accommmodation was external to the main building in an adjacent cottage. Little too far to walk to the village.
Staff were friendly and approachable. Grounds of the hotel were great. Breakfast was very enjoyable and staff looked after you. The hotel is mainly to cater for the blind so there are lots of working guidedogs which was great for our trainee guide dog .it is also open to the general public.
The night busy area for the dogs need cleaning out more often.
comfortable bed good room and bathroom pleasant grounds nice and quiet
room too hot, even with radiator off. quality of food was rather poor
welcoming of dogs friendly staff lovely gardens
the cups in hotel rooms need cleaning properly as they were brown stained when we arrived and need more coat hangers in rooms
Friendly staff, nice room.
Evening menu needs more choice
Pool was excellent and surrounding grounds and convenient for both Windermere and Ambleside.
bed was uncomfortable and therefore not a very good sleep. Pool area needed some repairs .
If Carling did hotels !!!! Then they would certainly do this one ..... Probably the best in the lakes .......
Facility offered many amenities
Long walk to town
all staff were first class
dinners of very poor quality, meat &chicken tough almost inedible
lovely stay ,lovely staff ,nice hotel ,great experience thank you all very much.
Hotel looks great from the outside and has lovely grounds. Convenient for the lakes. Swimming pool was nice as we were lucky and the weather was warm so it was nice to have a swim. Room was large so plenty of room to move round. Had a nice stay in the area
Inside a bit dated and in need of decorating. Our bathroom had 4 colours blue and white tiles, Pink paint work around door frame, blue/mauve sink unit in need of refurb. Room was at the side of the building we were on top floor above the kitchen which meant you got the smell of cooking in the room quiet badly. also we got a wake up call from the bin men at 6.30ish very noisy. Had to strip the bed on arriving as not made very well twin beds pushed together and zipped so they put a double bed protector on and scrunched up the middle and put the sheet over it, also the sheet was all on one side so was not tucked in the other. Not worth the money just to be near the lake very basic (travel lodge style rooms)
Nice staff. Lovely sitting areas. Walking distance Windemere.
We really enjoyed our stay at Windermere Manor. The staff in particular were terrific, you could tell that they got to know many of their repeat customers. Our room was perfect for our one-year-old, plenty of room for the travel cot. We will definitely stay here again.
Could use new pillows.
Pool was a nice option. picturesque surrounding. Nice breakfast pretty grounds. Spacious bedroom and en suite.
Road close by quite busy/noisy till 2am. Distance to Bowness on foot is a bit of a trek (and uphill and unlit on the return hike back on an evening) approximately 22 minute brisk walk into Bowness. So if you want to go out wearing heels on an evening I wouldn't recommend it.
The venue was absolutely fantastic. Staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful. Is definitely on my list for a return trip.
cannot store luggage
The location close to the town centre
Not a lot in the hotel to do
We had a great stay.
Great location, lovely grounds. Run also for people with vision impairment. Braille enabled facilities. Very friendly environment. Great breakfasts. We spent 3 wonderful days there.Would recommend it.
Hotel location, quiet and pleasant environment.
