No one to check me in, had to make a phone call and then collect the key from the shop! Stained bed linen Hairs in bed, had to re make bed to get rid of hairs Clump of hairs on window cill Very noisy fro road traffic No breakfast No one to check out For £65 per night this is the worst experiance ever, not impressed and won't be using again Have called the owner since to discuss the issues but I have not received a return calls, says a lot, she is not intetrested
Looked clean and had a comfortable mattress
Very small room I felt claustrophobic
Very clean and value for money at the price
Noted from other reviews that Windsor Guest House was difficult to find, since this was my first visit to Windsor, I emailed for directions, the non response I'd rate extremely unhelpful. Distance to Windsor misrepresented on advertisement. Staffing level poor.
Location, location, location And very friendly landlady.
Bed was not comfortable, expected two single beds, had to ask for pillows.
Comfy, cozy, homey. Has everything one needs. Staff was kind to let us check in early and check out even earlier.
Pricey. I've been to cheaper places with bigger rooms in better locations.
The pub along the road was very good. Lovley food and decent prices.
The room and en-suite bathroom was very small. Our towels and bed linen were not changed. The room was very hot but we could not keep our window open as there was a motor fan outside for something and it kept us awake most of the night. The breakfast was very basic.
pleasant enough breakfast room
No one there to welcome us ( although owner did apologise later) Steep stairs. Very cramped. Not great value for money Embarrassing to be staying behind a shop- poor presentation
Too far to walk into town
The owner was very nice and helped us with our accomidation requests. The Windsor Guest house is located in very nice little area, next to the Prince Albert Pub. The Prince Albert pub is wonderful, great food, friendly staff and amazing garlic bread appitizer!!!
The Sign for the Guest house is to small and difficult to see when you are attempting to find the place.
Good location for motorway, eating out and destinations
Not very clean, no hot water on first night, room very tight and small, poor value for money
Clean and very satisfactory; good parking; pleasent location Own key so could come and go as we wanted, relaxed booking in etc.
Diffecult to find - not well signed and the map printed off was not detailed enough. Only one pillow per person Would have liked the optopn of breakfast (if costs reasonable) No bus time table or map available
Encountered being relocated to possibly Maidenhead due to difficulty resulting in double booking on the hour of arrival
Kind and flexible staff. Good located in Windsor. Good value for low price (compared to Windsor). Free WiFi. Free parking, if lots of convenience shop free at that time. Nice restaurant, pub, hotel closed by (The Prince Albert).
Not directly visible from the street. Functional furnishings and decors rather then modern. Only continental Breakfast available, which includes free cereals, coffee/tea and juices, but 6GBP for essentially two slices of toast is not good value for this price. Rooms are in first floor with access by steeply stairs - not a problem for all, but elder or handicapped persons (and inconveniant with bulky luggage). Cannot operate heating and temperature was low for my personal convenience in a cold February.
it was functional
difficult to find shared bathroom poor acknoeledgement of booking confirmation ( notified that i would arrive late but no one on site to check in) standard greasy spoon breakfast
Wide choice at breakfast
Impossible to find as located above an off licence on a busy main road junction with the only signage being small and high up on the building wall, impossible to see when driving and negotiating junction. Not all rooms are ensuite and guests having to cross the landing to use the communal bathroom at night are noisy (heavy firedoors to rooms and bathroom). Also there is a pub next door and any rooms at the back of the guest house are affected by the noise particularly between 11pm and midnight. Staff are not onsite other than at breakfast so issues arising can not be dealt with until then. We got no sleep and it ruined our break. Terms and conditions (small sheet printed in hallway) state that guests should be considerate to others. We raised the fact in writing that we had been awoken by guests coming back to rooms late (keys allow guests to come in and out of the building at any time) and checking out at 6am but received no response. Expensive for converted rooms above a shop.
Staff were friendly. Room comfortable and breakfast good.
Difficulty finding guet house as it is located up an alley and it is hard to spot the sign when traveling alone a busy road. Had to ring the guest house to get directions. Quite a long walk from town centre or a £5 taxi journey.
Pleasant lady to greet on arrival after assistance with directions to find the place. Small but clean room and ensuite facilities. Parking off-road. Continental breakfast adequate. TV worked. Quiet enough.
Quite hard to find even with internet directions. Shower not easy to fathom. Parking off-road undeniably tricky due to very narrow entry at back of convenience store. The facility is above and behind the store.
For a 1night stay it was ok, not what I was expecting very hard to find, drove past 4 times before ringing up and finding it was above a convenience store, it was adequate as I was on my own. Breakfast was ok though I just had the continental.
The location was a bit strange above a convenience store. Water in flask for tea was only luke warm. Had to go to pub next door for evening meal.
Very expensive for : Neighboor's noise Not hot WATER No heating Bad experience for french people visiting Windsor for the first time.
The owner was very helpful with checking in. The place was well located for Windsor and its surrounding area, and the room was fine for our short stay. Overall good value for money and we would use again.
no problems with checking in or checking out. it was like being at home at my mums!
the room and bathroom were rather cramped (but VERY clean!!! and i do need to lose a kilo or 2 :-) )
Clean place with a nice staff and good breakfast in the morning.
We didn't have a car and it felt a bit far walking to the city centre.
Staff really friendly, accommodating, clean.
Toilet seat fell off
The location in proximity to Legoland is second to none in fact its is located no more than 1000yards from the entrance. Property is clean and tidy and the shower is excellent, powerful and hot just what was required after a damp day at Legoland.
On arrival having ot collect the keys from the off license, no one there to welcome you to the property. Entrance gate is so tight that you really do ahve to breath in when driving through. Also the hotel got my booking wrong, I requested a double or twin room for me and my daughter only to be assigned a single room. This issue was dealt with swiftly and we were offered a family room with ensuite which we gladly accepted. however the following morning when I went to settle the bill The proprieter wanted to charge me an extra £10 because we had been given an "upgrade" despite the fact it was their error. Having refused to pay this and explaining that I should not be financially penalised for their mistakes I settled the bill and left. A little strange to be paying for my stay in an off license
