utterly charming staff and beautiful building in an excellent location. Good breakfasts too! And also liked the fact that toiletries come in dispensers - much better for the environment than little bottles. Stairs!!! We were on the 3rd floor at the top of a tiny twisty staircase. Also the bed was extremely soft. It was extremely expensive for such a small room, and I'd expect full breakfast to be included in the price of the room, rather than toast, cereal and juice (you have to pay £6 more for full breakfast).

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice and the beautifully clean kitchen could be seen from the dining room. I thought the soft furnishings in the bedroom were getting past their best. There wasn't a comfortable chair in the room. It looked a lot fresher on the internet.

I was very surprised with the quality of the room with the warm welcome and with the simplicity of everything. This was a romantic escapade and it couldn't be better. Thank you

The staff were friendly and helpful and did their best to sort any problems out. They allowed us to upgrade our original room. The hotel decor was extremely tired. The paintwork was really chipped and damaged and looked well overdue for a redecoration. The first room we were offered was really small and only had a tiny shower. It was extremely scruffy and the shower looked as if it needed replacing. The 'continental' breakfast turned out to be toast and jam and cereals,no buffet style choice as shown in the brochure. I would class this guest house as 3*, not 5*. We did not have hot water in our room on the second night as the gas had been accidentally turned off. We were not offered compensation for having to wait over 2 hours for the hot water to be re-instated.

location and staff were good. The bed was comfortable and nice sheets. Did not appreciate having to climb 4 floors of stairs. Also, the shower pressure was horrendus.

Staff was friendly , close to city center This is not a five star Guest House! The pillows were thin, old blankets on bed, old bathroom, old rugs, Thank goodness the weather was lovely and we only had to lay our heads down to sleep.

The location was fabulous, on a fairly quiet and stunning Georgian boulevard, just off from the main shoping centre. With parking outside that can be arranged by the hotel for an additional £8. The building is stunning with lovely high ceilings, beautiful ornamentation and fireplaces that were lit when we came in. The staff were incredibly helpful, thoughtful and curteous. Everything was very clean and well arranged. A lovely breakfast was served in an attractive high ceiling room over looking the street. As I am in the hotel industry myself so I am probably more critical than most, so these comments are to be taken as helpful critisism: 1) The room 'Charlotte' was really quite a small double room for the price. Although as we weren't in it for long it wasn't a problem. 2) The hairdryer was a very old fashioned, fixed to the wall, type which had very little power. We were kindly given another hair dryer but sadly weren't shown how to use it and couldn't get it to work (a button had to be depressed whilst sliding the controls). 3) For this price a cooked breakfast should have been included in the price, like the continental breakfast is. 4) The decor for me was a little dated but I can imagine for many it is lovely. 5) The curtains were did not have black out lining so they let in the light.

Lovely Georgian town house within easy walking distance of attractions. Friendly staff who happily provided soya milk and wheat free bread at breakfast, which I really appreciated. Great atmosphere, and my second visit. I will be going again!

The staff were very helpful on arrival.A very central location on very nice street. The room was on the third floor, lots of stairs- beware the more unfit or disabled The room was small but very clean and nicely decorated.Breakfast was continental type but you could pay extra for cooked. It was very good quality and nicely presented. I would stay at this guesthouse again and would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends. It was good value for money especially as it was midweek in low season.

Charmed to be able to stay in a Georgian town house close to Bath's principal attractions You should not print these comments on your review..... Bed needs replacement with firm mattress attention to detail - basin plug with broken plug chain;toilet roll holder without bar so toilet roll on shelf; at breakfast three bowls each with a small chip It can't really class as 5 star though the staff we met were delightful and eager to please

Great Location. Lovely Spanish receptionist no overall manager visible particularly when fire alarm went off. No one was in charge or checking guests ok. Breakfast is ridiculous. The extra charge leaves a nasty taste when you re paying this kind of rate. The continental breakfastgives too few options. Staff arent managed so everything comes in the wrong order and youhave to remind them. Maybe they should have a buffet. All guests I saw were not happy with the. Breakfast Would not recommend because of breakfast and. Lack of manager

Location was a prime consideration as my Rachel has a foot problem. We also like the general ambiance of wgh, it captures something of a bygone period which we value. Well, we were disappointed that we could not take a bath, especially as this is a means of alleviating my Rachel's bad back. The en suite had a half bath, only good to stand in and shower, shame. Perhaps too we were disappointed with the tire look of the en suite and mould which contributed in this respect. We felt better Quality Control would have obviated our lack of WiFi this did prove frustrating.

“Comfortable clean rooms, peaceful ambience, very customer focussed and competent staff. Breakfast was just as previous visitors have decribed, a good selection to please most people and on a par with upmarket hotels. Car parking although £10 a day for the service is worth it in Bath. Location for city centre walking is excellent.” Michael, Wynyard |
