This little gem rests in the heart of Loch Lomond National Park, offering historic charm, friendly service and great food. The Winnock Hotel surrounds the pretty village green in the center of Drymen, on the east side of Loch Lomond. It is superbly situated for exploring the beautiful rustic countryside as well as the cities of central Scotland. The hotel is well known for its Scottish evenings, murder mystery weekends, golf and walking vacations. It has been extensively refurbished and modernized, while retaining the 18th century character of the original inn. The staff were very helpful polite and friendly Nothing was too much trouble.Unfortunately our holiday had to be cut short due to a family illness and every effort was made to help us out as much as possible. The food in both the resturant and bar was very good and not overpriced We enjoyed our short stay very much and will most certainly return in the future.

A perfectly quaint Scottish hotel. Plaid carpets, exposed beams, excellent pub/food, even better Scottish breakfast, friendly staff and just a hop, skip, and jump from Loch Lomond. Even the creaky floors, crooked halls and ghost stories just added to the quaintness of it all. We would absolutely stay here again!

The meal in the bar was very nice and the location in Drymen was great. The hotel or rather our 'neighbours' were extremely noisy e.g. slamming doors etc at 5am in the morning.

Warm comfortable room. In centre of little village. Staff very friendly. Food good. Two large tv screens in lounge. One would have been enough. Went to another local bar for a drink.

The Winnock is a cosy and friendly place to stay. Friendly staff who gave a very good service. Food was excellent and very good value for money. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the location is excellent for exploring the Loch Lomond area. Free parking is available. We would definately stay at the Winnock again. Bathrooms could do with updating.

The full scottish breakfast was horrible - quite the worst we have had. The sausage and black pudding were cheap nasty catering quality the mushrooms were tinned and plunged into oil The tomato had an evil brown crust The fried egg was "rubber" overcooked with a hard yolk The whole breakfast was quite disgusting and we were not the only ones to leave food on our plates.

Comfortable spacious room. Value for money-special deal. Good food. Good location. Room could have been cleaner-dusty in parts. Slow service on central resrvation and at breakfast-waiting to be seated but once seated service was excellent.

Stayed our first night as b&b & ate in the (very) nearby Clachan Inn. Lovely meal but recommend booking in advance at weekends. Enjoyed the murder mystery on our second night. Very entertaining. Some might find event slightly rude but actors played to the group who were there & everyone had good fun. Dinner was excellent but breakfast although an extensive menu, slightly lacked in taste. Unfortunately one of our party (of 6) had to cancel the second night of our stay. I gave the hotel 6 weeks notice of this but the resulting chaos forced me to call the hotel on several occasions, report that I'd been charged a deposit & then full amount again for the single room booking for the murder mystery night. I was reimbursed after pointing this out. Most annoying was that I had to pay a single supplement (of £29) for my daughter to stay in a single room on the second night. She had to vacate the double room she had shared on the first night & move to a single room. After doing this, I then visited her room to find paint peeling off & mould growing on the ceiling above the shower & mould on the window frame. Disgusted by this, I complained to the receptionist who agreed to move my daughter to another room - which turned out to be the double room she had been in the night before! Despite all of that & still paying the £29 supplement, we had a lovely time at the Winnock with our daughter's & partners, to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday
