Winston Hotel  

All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom a good size was fine and we would have used the hotel for evening meals if it was aimed more at holidaymakers.

The restuarant was not used by guests much while we were there. We ate there once and the food was fine but limited choice and overpriced in my opinion.

It was a very comfortable hotel with good atmosphere, hotel staff were very helpful and friendly.

The Hotel is in administration and it shows. The deputy manager/barman/receptionist/breakfast cook Tom was excellent and the service we received from him was second to none

The hotel is using agency staff in the kitchen as the previous chef has left. It is wrong to use the aa rosette awards as food is now second rate.

Had a wonderful stay, staff couldn't have been more helpful (especially Tom!). Will be back again!!

Front door was unlocked at all times so did not need to look for key in dark to let ourselves into the hotel late at night. Obviously some hotels are not able to do this depending on where they are situated.

Not much lighting from where we parked the car in the car park to the front of the hotel to get inside.

The hotel needs to pay more attention to little details. We found no soap in the bathroom, odd bits of cleaning missed eg.cup rings not wiped, cobwebs not cleared. Our room seemed a little tired, decoratively speaking. Staff a little too informal. Room above the bar can be very noisy.

No internet connection in some rooms

The Hotel was extremely accommodating bearing in mind they had no record of our booking made through Booking .com We were extremely lucky as they had a vacant room. Had this occurred the next day they were booked out and we would have been stuck trying to find alternate accommodation. Suggest you look into your booking arrangements as this was unacceptable even though we had a printout of your confirmed booking

We were made to feel welcome and, although our stay was only one night, it was a very pleasant experience.

It was not all that easy t locate...even with sat nav.

Good location, friendly staff. Food Ok

Toilet not particularly clean on arrival. Very noisy plumbing meant a disturbed night's sleep. Previous guest reviews meant we were well prepared.
