Meal in restaurant was excellent.
Bar prices a bit steep.
Location. Just off the A40 on the edge of Witney Bar staff and pool/spa attendant very helpful and cheerful. Abundant car parking
Receptionist when I checked in on Sunday afternoon and checked out on Tuesday morning is either in the wrong job or needs more training. There were no problems with her efficiency. The check in/out process was accurately and promptly executed. However her general demeanor was an issue for me. She was glum, grumpy, uncommunicative and did not make me feel welcome at all.
I liked the fact there was a safe in the room, and it was warm and comfortable
The bed in out first room needed changing, but the staff were great and moved me to another room as I have had 2 back operations and needed a newer mattress, this was only negative but they dealt with it well, just need all older mattresses changing for new ones
no lift no cot in the room when we arrived had to ask repeatidly additional cost of breakfast - very high
Friendly, efficient staff. Accommodated a very mixed bag of separate bookings from different members of our family. Food quality excellent. Swimming pool and close location to a lakeside walk excellent.
Wifi was a bit schizophrenic. First it didn't need a username and password. Then it did and didn't provide one. Then it provided one but it wasn't needed! All within a 20 hour period.
Clean room and good facilities.
Some road noise in room. Very loud music from function on Saturday night.
Extortionate bar prices. A small lime and lemonade was £3.55!
We booked via website and added a note to say that we wouldn't be booking in until late as we were going straight to a wedding. When I phoned at 7pm this had been noted so no problem when we arrived at midnight. Also liked the fact we didn't have to pay a deposit and could cancel up to 11.59am the day of booking.
Felt it was rather an expensive hotel. We paid £100 per room which did not include breakfast. When we did go down to breakfast it finished at 10 which we thought was too early for weekends.
Me and my husband had not stayed in a hotel before and we could not fault anything with this hotel. We enjoyed using the leisure facilities and my own personal thing I liked was the spa. The meals were good and staff very helpful.
A bit of confusion over our booking on arrival, but this was soon sorted and our room was upgraded at no cost. We booked room only but were able to add breakfast at £5 (for two!) on arrival. Clean, comfortable room, good breakfast, altogether a pleasant stay. Witney a pretty market town. Bus into/out of Oxford took approx. 40 minutes.
Hotel is on the outskirts of Witney, a good 15-20 minutes walk into town.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Comfortable room- received an upgrade which was great! Thankyou.
Just more variety of main meals on bar menu.
Plug for hairdryer right next to mirror! Lovely, comfortable beds. Staff efficient and friendly. Plenty of parking.
£12.95 for breakfast! A bit steep.
Leisure and spa facilities good after a day sightseeing
Bed was big and comfortable much needed after travelling all day. Receptionist helpful and pleasant.
view of the car park, service in restaurant (ordered cod - got cod - waiter thought was chicken!) suppose we expected a lot more after staying at Tortworth Court which was spot on
Staff Bed Breakfast
Location perfect for our needs Comfortable beds. Good sized bathroom Restaurant - good evening meal Leisure facilities - small but pleasant pool Coffee making facilities, biscuits and small bottles of wine in superior and connoisseur rooms
Shower in room not working, reported but not fixed. Reported again, moved rooms. Shower better but they'd upgraded us and although this room was lovely, the bathroom was tiny. Hooks missing from back of door. Disappointing because we were there for a special occasion. Breakfast - congealed eggs on buffet. Service overall quite poor. Mentioned at check out and very small discount given but I'd have expected some feedback.
Staff are very nice and professional. Facilities though not ample but just sufficient (small swimming pool and gym room). We stayed there on a late minute price deal, price was very good.
location is less optimal unless has car t drive around. Easily accessible with car just off A40. But entry is very close to roundabout, could easily be missed
Friendly, welcoming, I stay here a lot as a single female traveller and am very comfortable in the bar and the hotel in general
All good this time!
The lunch in an events room, which was why I was there, was very well done.
My sheet had what looked like as quashed insect on it, possibly ironed on. The brasserie was appallingly noisy the Monday morning, possibly from some post wedding groups. I could hear conversation, water running and doors slamming from 5 on the second morning. Nowhere to walk out to to explore
Nothing wrong with it, but just a little underwhelming for the price we paid (it was a last minute booking so we appreciate this) Probably wouldn't stay again, as there are many nicer places locally. Fine for business trips, but as a holiday break it isn't so nice.
Handy to walk into witney.bus stop close by.
Traffic noise.laundry lorry collecting under bedroom window very early in morning. Cleaning staff very noisy to early in morning.
Location off the motorway and easy access Room and bed of good quality
When a bus party arrives at the hotel it gets very busy for both bar and restaurant and service drops, The food quality is not exactly top of the world, The WIFI was very slow!
Not modern enough and expensive for what it is
Comfortable, good breakfast included in price.
Traffic noise, hairdryer didnt work. Literature said short walk into the town but not that short !
Breakfast was delicious, nice selection. Greeted and seated by a friendly member if staff.
Rooms smelt musty, bed was hard. Shower wasn't powerful and the room could of been cleaner, we found hairs. But as we were only there for one night it was bearable. For the price we would have expected better.
