    We were aware that most of the staff were students but you wouldn't have known it as they were very friendly and eficient. Whilst waiting at the bar to be served another guest complained in a brusque and imperious manner about something trivial and the girl dealt with him very proffesionally. Full marks to her.

    There was nothing to complain about or did not like except that it wasn't obvious how to turn the Television on again after it had been turned off. It was probably me at fault and anyway, who wants to waste time watching the TV in a lovely place like Wivenhoe House.

    Everything one of the best for value for money. A little off the Beaton track , but this was fine for our stay.

    Bad guest in the room next door kept us awake from 4:30 am opening and closing door to go for cigarettes and constantly calling staff to her room.

    The building itself very beautiful and full of history. The rooms,decor and service where excellent. We enjoyed a most delicious breakfast and a lovely walk around the surrounding park. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff they all seemed happy in their work. We shall be back.

    There was nothing we didn't like!

    This is luxury 5-star accommodation and service at a 3-star price. Everything in the bathroom worked as it should. Good food well presented. Staff attentive to our needs. Pleasant surroundings.

    There was nothing during our short stay that detracted from our enjoyment of staying in such pleasant hotel.

    Using post code with a sat nav, tried to bring you us in through a bus only road.

    The whole experience - room was clean, comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities and bathroom was well appointed. Brasserie had great staff and award winning food - couldn't fault it.

    No cricket being played on the field outside (joke). Being really picky - no mirror near a plug for hairdryer.

    Staff excellent. Food very good.

    We stayed in room 213. No air conditioning meant that sleep was poor due over heating.

    Staff were very polite and attentive. Food in the restaurant was delicious with excellent service. Our standard room was beautiful.

    Our part of the hotel was extremely hot. A fan had been provided however we couldn't leave the balcony door open as it was shared with next room.

    The staff were polite and efficient. Location excellent and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. The link to SAS history added to the intrigue. Usually British hotels under perform. Wyvenhoe is a pleasant exception

    The professional and helpful staff. Beautiful, clean room with everything you could want.Excellent food in the Brasserie restaurant. Lovely grounds. Altogether a really pleasant place to stay.

    No air conditioning. Although a quality fan was provided - we could not sleep because it was constantly "humming" in the room. Because of this, we would only return during the cooler months of the year.

    We liked the whole experience, beautiful hotel with excellent staff, and excellent food. Could not fault anything about this hotel and we have stayed in many throughout our travels. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

    There was nothing to dislike about this hotel. Excellent.

    There seemed more staff than guests at this training hotel, all pleasant and competent. Surprised to find Beth Chatto's famous and lovely garden and nursery practically on the doorstep; tourist information office hadn't mentioned it and we thought it a definite plus!

    Hard to think of anything, although some might find the flight of steps to reception a drawback. Possibly there is another entrance available .

    The quality of the room, furnishings, food & service. The staff, albeit predominately young, are a credit to the hotel & the University of Essex.

    Dining experience, food and service were top quality. Staff were well presented and very helpful Bathroom was massive and very well laid out

    The room was well appointed but due to size seemed to be lacking furniture Overall stay was not value for money

    The staff were extremely polite friendly and helpful.

    We had two windows in our room, one would not stay open at all and the other could only be opened a little way and the weather was exceptionally hot during our stay.

    Compared to the George, where we usually stay, this hotel is in a different league. Just Great

    My wife's complaint, no magnifying mirror. A small fridge would have been useful to keep the drinking water cool.

    The service was superb, nothing was too much trouble though not intrusive.The brasserie food was excellent.

    Although we enjoyed our stay very much, it was very expensive. Had there been other facilities such as a spa and pool maybe the cost would have been more acceptable! However, I would return.
