- Buffet style evening meal - Quality of evening meal - Quality of breakfast - Wet carpet - Ancient fittings - Inability to book a taxi - Staff's ability to rectify situation
It was good value for money
wouldn't stay here again it wasnt a hotel to stay at if it was just leisure it was just a massive conference place!
The location is stunning
Little information on facilities in the room Receptionist spoke broken English so it was hard to have a conversation to find out more information Wifi signal weak and kept disconnecting The food I had in the bar took a long time to arrive and was like warm
The room was ok,it was a little shabby but the price we paid made up for that.Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice. The coffee machines dotted around the hotel, where of very good quality.
the water was quite cool early evening and too cold to have a shower ,but was better late evening.Would have liked to have a mattress cover on the bed,a must I think.
Spacious, clean rooms, nicely equipped, pleasant setting, friendly staff. Restaurant was good value for money, waiting staff were 1st class.
plumbing in rooms not brilliant. Foyer has a large PE hall feel to it. Its ideal for a conference centre.
Good breakfast, decent coffee, very efficient for the morning routine. They had a very nice lady on patrol with a tray of tea and coffee, so no wait for that. The cooked breakfast was good and there was a good selection of cold foods too. Checkout was seamless.
20 minutes to check in with one couple in front of me. First room was a non working key. Dirty plates and glasses outside almost every room. Dinner food quality was mediocre, and the wine arrived after my plate was cleared. A complementary bottle of (rather rough) house red was offered and accepted as an apology.
unclean no attention to detail rude and un-attentive staff slow service awful!
Arrived late, no Food available, was told i had to pay for any extras as i didnt have a credit Card. not made to feel welcome. Noisy room next door. Horrible buffet at dinner. Made to feel uncomfortable at breakfast as was told to pay up front! Bad Service at Meeting room, not cleared up, ran out of milk. HOtel feels like a big hanger - more a corporate Hotel.
Room was a good size and comfortable. Staff were friendly.
Our second visit to this hotel, first visit couldn't fault. This visit arrived in afternoon when got to our room still trays with left over food and drink on outside our room and outside next doors mentioned it to reception who assured us cleaners were on there way round to remove them , still there when we went to bed. Also decided not to eat in the bar that evening as there was an off putting smell of stale beer as we went in. Bathroom needed a bit of attention as shower mounting wobbly as was the towel rail.
The room was comfortable enough
Staff were unwelcoming and not very helpful My room was in an annexe far from the facilities Poor WiFi signal Food basic No phone signal
WiFi Food Location
Rooms and hallways are well used, have been touched up with paint but look tatty and worn. No Air Con Pool area again is well used and worn. spa pool closed.
Not very much....the grounds were nice but that was about it. Leaving the hotel
Cleanliness Staff/customer service - lack of Disorganisation Only caters for the BMW employees and the other guests are an inconvenience Even had dinner at a nearby hotel
Given card for room. Walked miles to room. No luggage trolley. Room already occupied. My key card opened the door. Took reception over 10 minutes to answer phone. Sent a staff member to sort things out. He did his job competently. Lighting in room inadequate. One bulb missing. Had to use the bathroom to read. No plug for hand basin. Room service. Could get no reply from number given in room. Eventually got through to a person in reception (after ten minutes) who said she would get them to contact me. Nothing happened so I rang again. Eventually got an answer. Ordered. No one could say when I would get my meal. It arrived quite soon and was excellent. Ordered my breakfast at that time. It never arrived. Went back to my room at 10am to find phone ringing. Was asked why I was still in my room as it was past check out time. Suggested that they looked at their records as I was booked in for two nights.
Great location with fantastic pubs in the local area. Good place to base yourself at, walk around the grounds or visit the local area.
As expected for the price, you don't stay at the main building you're in the newer block which is ok. Paper thin walls though, could hear everything in adjoining rooms. Picture of the hot tub is actually the one in the spa, not the one you have free access to (which was empty and looked like it had been non operational for a long time). Swimming pool area and changing rooms in need of some TLC.
Surroundings impressive reception helpful.
Room was small dark and tired, marks all over bedspread and walls, walls paper thin very noisy from other guests rooms slamming doors and tv,s far to loud. Bar areas were at times dirty and food menu poor, time for meals far too long and sometimes cold, hotel is aimed at the corporate events they hold and not interested in small groups of travellers.
the rooms definately need decorating and new bathrooms required new beds and mattresses
Staff were friendly and hotel was very good value especially as we got a discounted deal in advance.
Budget set-up, don't fall for it
Facilities are fine. Good internet.
Poor service from the staff, Bar area very grubby. Room lighting was very poor, could not work in the room due to this. Breakfast area was dirty.
Beautiful venue but guest rooms are tired
Hot room, keys don't work half the time, volume of audible noise from other rooms and check in was so slow it was painful as were the repeated trips from opposite end of hotel to get new keys
The building Mansion house Room was ok
- No mini fridge - No water in room - Not even a pen in the room - Bar not open at until 12pm so unable to get glass of juice in the morning. - Bar ran out of cigarettes so had to travel to the next village searching for a shop. - No staff in the spa (was told they had gone home) this was at 1pm - Aircon not working in the room - No aircon in wedding hall which we was attending at the venue
Comfortable room (in the Executive wing); good gym and pool which was open early for a refreshing dip. Pleasant sport bar and welcoming staff in the golf shop. Lovely parkland grounds and picturesque golf course. Buffet breakfast looked reasonable, but we could not have breakfast as we were told the wrong opening time for the restaurant by the reception, and had to leave early for an early appointment; even though room service was advertised as available from 7am, the poor service experienced throughout the hotel gave us no confidence that a breakfast would arrive early enough for our departure, so we went without - not ideal.
Poorly trained staff (reception, restaurant and bar); horrible canteen-style restaurant with new, untrained staff and surly "chef" serving at the buffet who had no personality and was far from welcoming. Characterless central public area ("The Street") was more in keeping with an airport, and is not appropriate for what is supposed to be a 4-star hotel.
Comfortable bed, good large mirrors. Bar food good. Nice location. Seemed popular.
Decor. Hotel entrance not very welcoming, looked like a canteen. Colour scheme in rooms were poor; colours too dark made everything feel gloomy. Corridor carpets very old fashioned.
Room was located at the beginning of corridor near security access door. Door was constantly being opened and closed, and unfortunately was very noisy.
comfortable room, excellent range of facilities (although pool was not in use when I was there). very good breakfast & evening meal. All in all - no complaints
very little, although room was maybe a little "tired" and in need of an update.
