The staff were lovely and helpful as always. The room was in a very bad condition when we arrived. Seats torn, stains on the walls. Only one towell. It just felt like the care had gone when comparing to our many other visits. Even when were given a different room, the towells were on the floor along with the toilet paper. And again the furniture was in a poor condition. This was not typical of our other experiences but it has made consider whether to come back if that is going to continue to be the standard.

absolutely nothing. I cannot begin to explain how dreadful our stay was at your hotel. you should not, accept bookings from individual couples, this is a corporate venue only. the whole place is far from relaxing, hundreds of people attending day courses and events. absolutely terrible. i shall make a point of letting the relevant sites know what a ripoff your place is.

The staff were friendly The room was tired, wallpaper peaking off, stains on wall, very old and marked furniture. I asked to be moved as the room was dirty and was put in another room with a broken door to the courtyard. Moved again to a better room but still the hotel could do with an overhaul. 3 hours after arriving, I unpacked.

The evening meal was good Breakfast was awful. Powdered egg you could slice like cake and tea that was poured from a jug (no pot of tea as would be the norm) that had obviously had coffee in it before and not cleaned out properly as I could taste the coffee. I booked a superior double room. I don't know what was superior about it, it was the smallest room I've ever stayed in. The bath was so small it wasn't worth being in there and the decoration was very scruffy and in need of some tlc, especially in the bathroom.

Went for dinner sunday 12th may in the steam restaurant which we never used before only for breakfast, was greeted by a young lady who told us to sit down then advised us where everything was then left us to it. Salad bar (which we asumed was starters) we had a choice of rocket & some leaf thing tomatoes, cucumber & some potatoes in some sauce (not to sure what) Then the main course mmmm lovely dried up brisket of beef, small bits of fish, also some sort of dried up pasta, green beans & corgettes. Dessert!!!!! No cheese only biscuits, no fruit salad only orange's you had to peel yourself. Cakes that had congealed & stuck almost together. My partner had the three course's!! Not one plate was moved from our table throughout the whole sitting. On leaving the young girl stopped us asked us to pay our bill when I said could you add it to our bill she said no as we havent had a card authorised(which when we checked in the lady on desk did swip my card & pre authorised it for £250.00. Very poor in my option. The cost shocked me £42 something for what??????????

The location was great for our needs and much nicer than a city centre hotel. The floor tiling in the bathroom was grubby and the beds too soft. One window would not lock closed, the other could not be opened; we were on the first floor which meant it was not too much of a security problem. Having to have a second person in the pool in order to swim meant I was not able to use the pool :(

The lovely older building and the country location. The hallway and room were warm but we opened the window. It was a bit unhandy having to carry luggage up the stairway to the third floor.

Location in a country park. Like to get out of the built up areas at w/e. Very well cooked buffet breakfast staff not over friendly. Too many people at breakfast. Felt like a cafeteria rather than a relaxing atmosphere to have breakfast

the location was lovely, super grounds. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was fab. Loved the complimentary coffee/tea everywhere. carzy golf super fun with the kids. The pool was very disappointing, old and tired, needs modernising and larger changing rooms. The windows in the rooms were hard to open and close.

The location on the golf course was lovely. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the free tea and coffee was very welcome! The jacuzzi did not work properly and the pillows in the rooms were not very firm. A mini-bar or fridge was not provided and you would expect this in a hotel of this standard.

Laid back easy going friendly atmosphere. Stayed twice already visiting family who have just moved to the area. Our next stay is on Saturday 8th June - we have booked 2 rooms for a special occasion and this time we will be having breakfast for the first time. Everything was perfect for what we needed and where we needed to be.
