Free Tea's Coffee around hotel. Buffet Breakfast
Out of the way location Poor Bar Dinner Menu Very expensive drinks Dull swimming pool//Sauna area Poor bathroom finish
Food in bar disgusting, we sent it back. Beer was flat.
Room lovely, free hot drinks a nice touch
Location, bedroom AOK, Pool great
Check in slow - it was night staff rather than usual reception team
The hotel corridors and rooms on the ground floor were filthy, dead insects all over. The rooms were disgusting with paint and wall paper coming off. Never going back!!!!
Housekeeping was very good
The rooms were quite dated with sub standard appliances
View from second room. Free coffee.
Directions in grounds, welcome at reception, location of first room, breakfast, leisure club facilities (sauna door broken, jacuzzi out of action), errors at book in/out. Executive room doesnt mean its an upgrade from standard it means its in a modern block away from the main hotel. All executive twin rooms have full disabled access and on the ground floor just off reception. Could go on.....won't be returning.
Very comfortable room, the best night's sleep I've had in a hotel in a long time. Loved the breakfast and evening buffets - good quality food, freshly prepared.
The computer system creeks so it took ages to book in and out, and to book for meals. The wifi was very unreliable
Grounds excellent, price was very reasonable
Not clear where you should park given such a large place.
Surely staff Being charged for cancelled room even though cancelled in accordance with booking policy Waiting 10 days for a refund No quiet areas anywhere Average food Tired rooms One if the worst hotel experiences I have had
The room was large and facilities were excellent.
TV channels too limited; for instance, no News channel at all.
The attitude of the reception desk because I didn't have a credit card. The fact that there was fresh chewing gum stuck to the headboard of my bed, even though the room was supposedly clean. I did report this to reception and apart from them thinking it was disgusting there was no other comment Food choice was limited and very pricey, both in the bar and the restaurant upstairs again staff not impressed that I had not booked a table before hand. Internet was very intermittant, working away from home I expect a "big" brand like De Vere to have alot better WiFi throughout the hotel, could not get a signal in the restaurant. Overall would not stay there again, considering I have stayed in De Vere hotels before very disappointed.
Comfy room and bed Good toiletries! View through french doors onto golf course Swimming pool
The jacuzzi is out of action, looks like a long term thing Easy to get lost! Expensive taxis to and from the hotel to local train station Cash machine in lobby charges £1.75 per transaction. Only three tea bags in room
The windows open in the rooms which is preferable for me to having air conditioning. The rooms are adequate although not luxurious considering the price per night.
The conference room we had for the meeting was oppresively hot as the cooling was not working making it very uncomfortable. But in fairness a couple of air conditioning units were accessed and brought to the room for the 2nd day of our event.
Helpful reception and restaurant staff and convenient location
Unpleasant bar, beer too cold, ignorant barman, cafeteria-like restaurant, credit card surcharge on bill, room smelt of smoke, warehouse-like foyer.
- Buffet style evening meal - Quality of evening meal - Quality of breakfast - Wet carpet - Ancient fittings - Inability to book a taxi - Staff's ability to rectify situation
Lovely grounds, ample parking. I was given a lovely accessible room, when I mentioned a request, was pleased and surprised with the room and it's facilities.
I requested a wake up call, as my only purpose was to attend a lecture/training morning, still waiting for the call. Thankfully a also asked a friend who had visited me at the hotel to also call me. The staff, had not provided a suitable or any room for the meeting, and it had to be cobled together by the people running the lecture. It was very noisy, with younger guests running riot between several rooms for most of the night. Breakfast was quite basic, considering the type of establishment. would not recommend at all.
It was good value for money
wouldn't stay here again it wasnt a hotel to stay at if it was just leisure it was just a massive conference place!
As a conference venue its good
The rooms for the price were a rip-off. Matchbox sized executive suite. Breakfast was very random and gave the impression of having to be wedged into some or any available space, not in a regular dining room. Everyone sat at mass tables. Again for an "executive" hotel this was very sub standard. And it supports the likes of BMW and Delloites. Heaven knows how they accept that. Wont stay again.
The location is stunning
Little information on facilities in the room Receptionist spoke broken English so it was hard to have a conversation to find out more information Wifi signal weak and kept disconnecting The food I had in the bar took a long time to arrive and was like warm
The room was ok,it was a little shabby but the price we paid made up for that.Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice. The coffee machines dotted around the hotel, where of very good quality.
the water was quite cool early evening and too cold to have a shower ,but was better late evening.Would have liked to have a mattress cover on the bed,a must I think.
Spacious, clean rooms, nicely equipped, pleasant setting, friendly staff. Restaurant was good value for money, waiting staff were 1st class.
plumbing in rooms not brilliant. Foyer has a large PE hall feel to it. Its ideal for a conference centre.
Good breakfast, decent coffee, very efficient for the morning routine. They had a very nice lady on patrol with a tray of tea and coffee, so no wait for that. The cooked breakfast was good and there was a good selection of cold foods too. Checkout was seamless.
20 minutes to check in with one couple in front of me. First room was a non working key. Dirty plates and glasses outside almost every room. Dinner food quality was mediocre, and the wine arrived after my plate was cleared. A complementary bottle of (rather rough) house red was offered and accepted as an apology.
unclean no attention to detail rude and un-attentive staff slow service awful!
Arrived late, no Food available, was told i had to pay for any extras as i didnt have a credit Card. not made to feel welcome. Noisy room next door. Horrible buffet at dinner. Made to feel uncomfortable at breakfast as was told to pay up front! Bad Service at Meeting room, not cleared up, ran out of milk. HOtel feels like a big hanger - more a corporate Hotel.
Room was a good size and comfortable. Staff were friendly.
Our second visit to this hotel, first visit couldn't fault. This visit arrived in afternoon when got to our room still trays with left over food and drink on outside our room and outside next doors mentioned it to reception who assured us cleaners were on there way round to remove them , still there when we went to bed. Also decided not to eat in the bar that evening as there was an off putting smell of stale beer as we went in. Bathroom needed a bit of attention as shower mounting wobbly as was the towel rail.
