I have stayed at Wolfscastle Country Hotel on a number of visits and I have always found the staff friendly and helpful. The rooms are well appointed and the beds are comfortable. The choice of food and drink is good and the quality of the fine dining is high.
Care is needed when leaving the hotel by car and joining the main road as there is a blind corner on a hill.
Staff And Food Excellent
the room was very comfortable restaurant was exceptional
Fine menu and ability to adjust to customer wishes.
Delicious food, excellent breakfast and evening meal - good atmosphere in dining area and attentive, knowledgable staff.
Car park very full
Wonderful food, comfortable surroundings
nothing not to like
Food was delicious. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room beautifully appointed. Bed extremely comfortable. Will definitely go back.
We wish we had more time there!
Very comfortable hotel, excellent food and service
The hotel provided us with the ideal base for an excellent break in this scenic part of the world.
Very welcoming on arrival. Lovely food in a bright dining area. Small but well appointed bedroom with lots of open views.
En suite was slightly cramped. Tea making utensils seemed dull and lacked a local character (eg cups and saucers were commonplace)
I liked the bistro/ restaurant and the staff were v nice and the bedroom was really comfortable and a great bed for a nights sleep
The hotel was comfortable, very clean and well maintained. The staff were most helpful and breakfast was excellent. It was great to be able to take our dog too.
This lovely hotel had helpful friendly staff, clean comfortable, excellent food cant falt anything would visit again
Outstanding reception on arrival. Excellent staff. Restaurant and bistro were really good with fresh produce and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Good location for reaching all of Pembrokeshire. Tasefully modernised and comfortable.
We did have some issues with housekeeping although they were handled very well by the reception staff.
The owner gave us wine for the inconveniece of the large late party. Overall all were very nice The food was EXCELLENT.
There was a large party with music which kept us up. Instead of allowing a 1 AM venue maybe you could ask folks to stop the party at 11. Since we booked the day before we arrived, it would have been good to advise us of this. Our room was number 6 but the noise was as loud as number 4.
The young staff were friendly and attentive. The breakfast was excellent.
Carpets in bedroom were dirty. The furniture was very worn and tatty. Fire escape door was completely blocked with dirty linen. Back of hotel was filthy.
Location was good as between Haverfordwest and Fishguard. Freindly staff. Great evening meal and atmosphere.
Brekkie was disappointing, but this may have been a one off as the dinner the night before was excellent.
The room was masiff 40 in TV , king size bed , an was so cumfy I didn't want to get up
Honestly no complaints
This is a fairly good hotel however they do have significant issues that would make me think twice before coming there again, the rooms themselves are a good size and fairly well appointed a wardrobe and sideboard which combines as a writing desk chair and separate chair provides adequate facilities, the bathroom is pretty good with bath/shower behind a plastic curtain. The standard of cleanliness generally very good, except a little more attention should be paid to cleaning behind the bathroom door.
The problems start with the breakfast where there seems to be a philosophy of keeping everything fairly minimal, there was a selection of two or three kinds of fresh fruit with the usual, yogurt and cereals, and there was a selection of cooked breakfasts available to order. I chose the full English which on the first day was pretty good, but again, One had the impression of it been somewhat minimal and the fried egg was partly raw, I had the full English on the second day as well except on this occasion there was no fried egg at all so clearly. The contents of the breakfast are somewhat hit and miss. My wife had poached eggs with salmon, and she declared it was very good and certainly it looked good so I guess we could recommend this. However, one piece of toast per person is totally inadequate, especially for us coastal path hikers I asked for more, but it arrived after we had finished and the same thing goes for the tea and coffee which is supplied to you in a small cup (no teapot) so this means you will have to wait to catch the waitress attention if you want a second, I like to drink at least two mugs of tea in the morning so this proved to be a quite a problem. The dinner in the modern smart brasserie was quite skilfully cooked. However, don't come here if you're hungry (nouvelle cuisine) I had to order the starter, two main courses with four extra portions of mixed vegetables and even then I left the table hungry, this included my wife, who resorted to ordering extra chapattis to supplement the meal.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was not pokey, well lit, and equipped with decent sized well positioned TV.Bed extremely comfortable. Food in the bistro downstairs-I had dnner and breakfast was of very high qualirty well presented. Breakfast election-I had kipper and egg-top class.
I ordered coffee for breakfast and instead of leaving a pot on table waitress filled th cup and disappeared. It was ages before a second cup was brewed and ready.Would have prefered trouser press rather than iron in room.
Great breakfast selection.Very clean comfortable rooms. Will give you an entry code if you return out of reception hours. Friendly staff.Lots of local information supplied.Youngest daughter delighted with the Wi-Fi
Nearly empty toilet roll and no spares on arrival in one of our rooms. 'hot' water is warm not hot. Lots of stairs up to the rooms. Not suitable for less able people. Unusual to have no fridge or room safe in a modern hotel.
The food was fantastic and was great for coeliacs
Proximity to Fish gaurd ferry Great Patios Nice big bed Good parking available
Small windows in room Shower not cleaned properly, mildew around edges Being served toast where you could see the blue mould on it, and a very reluctant apology Felt ovepriced for location nd service
Tired décor and carpets
