Food good, Room Good, Ale, Excellent, Location , lovely

Didn't really feel that welcome, maybe , it was just a couple off days, just a general feeling that , we could have been made to feel more welcome, as we left, nobody seemed bothered !

Good location just off the 'beaten track'. Excellent evening meal with more unusual choices as well as familiar dishes - all served beautifully. Good breakfast, especially the 'full english' but no fruit choices. Very near to Byland Abbey.

Would have liked a fruit choice for breakfast but thoroughly enjoyed the scrambled egg and toast (my choice).

On arrival we had a nice warm welcome and shown to our room. The Wombwell Arms is in a pretty little village. We didn't get there in time to have dinner but breakfast was delicious.

Very helpful when we had to phone ahead after being stuck on traffic. Kept supper for us. An excellent base for touring: would certainly visit again.

Nothing, but I would just point out that I wrote a review within a couple of days of returning home. There's not much point in writing them if they get lost.

The location and the food especially the breakfast could not be faulted. We would definitely stay again

We stayed in room two which though well furnished and clean did not have any seating arrangements (other than the bed)

The hospitality was excellent and the food really good . Room was lovely and bed comfy.

The room was above the bar and looked straight out on the car park so a little exposed but not a big deal and preferred the not having net curtains so not much of a negative at all.

We found the food at the Wombwell Arms to be very good; the menu had a number of South African dishes. We had one evening meal which we enjoyed and they provided an excellent cooked breakfast.

Lovely stay in delightful pub hotel with perfect hosts. Loved the South African food which was cooked to perfection and so glad hosts have retained the informality of a country pub.

Lack of internet was a bit of a nuisance but suspect that's the location. Very minor suggestion - the bedrooms were lovely (soft linen and towels) but would have liked at small chair to throw clothes on

The room was confortable and the breakfast very good.

Apart from the Abbey ruins to walk to there was nothing else within walking distance.
